Dilworth Animal Hospital provided the most incredible and compassionate care yesterday, when it came time for my family to say goodbye to our beloved dog of 14 years. I truly could not have asked for a more peaceful experience. They kindly scheduled us same-day so that he did not have to suffer for longer. We were able to take an appointment late in the day so that my mother could finish her workday and I could make the drive in to say goodbye. We were greeted warmly and compassionately by the entire staff, and - despite it being late in an undoubtedly long day for them - did not once feel rushed. The technicians/assistants working with Bailey spoke to him so kindly and Dr. Theobald helped him pass so very peacefully. The staff member that had treated him so kindly (I unfortunately did not catch her name with everything going on) was waiting respectfully right outside the door, so we never had to leave him in the room alone. When all was said and done, we were able to leave without worrying about settling a bill. Our sweet boy had given my family 14 incredible years with him. After all that time, my parents worried most about letting him go peacefully and with dignity. Dilworth Animal Hospital went above and beyond to make that happen, and I truly cannot thank them enough. We will never forget how they made this otherwise impossible experience flow so seamlessly and compassionately. ❤️‍🩹 🐾

I am so thankful to have discovered this animal hospital. Huge thank you to Dr, Matheson and the other staff member that saw my dog today. I was so scared and worried about my dogs health and they were so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. My dog is my best friend and my entire life and seeing her so sad and sick makes me miserable. So thankful for this animal practice. I highly recommend going here. I trust them with my animals. Thank you again for taking good care of my baby ❤️❤️

This is a fantastic, privately owned practice that hasn’t sold out to the big corporate conglomerates. They take amazing care of our animals with friendly, passionate staff from the front office to the back exam rooms. Dr. Wheelock is the owner and a fantastic veterinarian as well. None of the doctors that we’ve worked with have ever recommend anything that would unnecessarily hurt our wallet. Any re-examinations for our dog struggling with GI issues have been free of charge. I highly recommend taking your pets here!

This animal hospital does an amazing job. Dr. Theobald, she is great! I got Avery as a kitten and he has had quite a few issues. This is the only animal hospital I have ever taken him too. After 6 months, all is well and he is doing exceptional. Also, this animal hospital is hardly ever closed. That is important especially for 1st time pet owners. If you regular vet is closed, then you need to take them to a vet emergency room. I’ve noticed the care that your animal will receive is not always the best at the vet emergency. They don’t know you, you don’t know them…it might as well be an awkward date with your pet in the middle. If you are looking for a new animal hospital, I strongly encourage anyone to consider Dilworth Animal Hospital. They provide you with an invoice before they exam your pet, they are reasonably priced except for the teeth cleaning services. Things that stand out: When Avery had an upper respiratory infection they asked me to wait outside, and call them when I arrived. Some people might not like this but I thought it was 100% fine. They have limited space, and this shows the consideration they have for all the animals. You don’t want the animal next to yours to pass symptoms onto your pet and vice versa. It is the little details that matter, and this one situation says a lot about the culture they have at Dilworth Animal Hospital.

I take my dog to Dilworth Animal Hospital and can’t say enough good things about my experience. Dr. Wheelock and his staff are incredible and I trust them 100% when it comes to my dog’s health. The facility is very welcoming and clean, and everyone I’ve ever interacted with is professional and kind. Dr. Wheelock is very knowledgeable and caring. He’s great with my (at times, anxious) dog and always explains any concerns in a way that’s easy to understand. He also makes sure any questions I have are answered and he never rushes the appointments even though I’m sure the clinic must be busy. I recommend all of my family and friends go there for their pets — it has been a huge comfort being able to trust the care my sweet dog gets.
