***I am not sure why Sandra Danes' name is attached to this listing. This review is not about her. We had excellent experiences with her when she was at the Village Animal Clinic in Dexter. **** We had a good experience with the two vets we saw here, but the overall organization of this clinic is just bad. First, I would frequently be put on hold when I called. Not a big deal in and of itself, but I'd be on hold long enough to wonder if they'd forgotten about me. Or I'd call I'd get a busy signal. The thing that made us leave was when our beloved dog got sick. We went to them to have his lumps aspirated, which they did, and they also did the x-rays there. We did this because both this clinic and the cancer vet told us it would be cheaper to do it with our own vet. When we went to our first appointment with the cancer vet, x-rays and samples in hand, we were told that the x-rays and the samples both were not good quality and it would all need to be redone. Finally, after our dog passed (and the Dexter Animal Clinic staff had kindly sent us a card acknowledging it), we continued to get notifications for his check ups and vaccinations. I was too wrapped up in our dog's dying to take care of things with this clinic, but at that point I called and told them we were not going there anymore. If you're considering this clinic, save yourself the hassle and find another vet.

Welcome to Dexter Animal Clinic: Danes Sandra DVM
Welcome to Dexter Animal Clinic, your local Pet Hospital located at 9500 N Territorial Rd, Dexter, MI 48130, USA. At Dexter Animal Clinic, we understand that your pets are cherished members of your family, and their health and well-being are of paramount importance. As a dedicated pet hospital, we strive to provide comprehensive veterinary care and a range of services to address the diverse needs of your animal companions.
While the name associated with the listing is Dexter Animal Clinic: Danes Sandra DVM, it's important to note a customer review indicating that their positive experiences with Sandra Danes were at a different clinic, the Village Animal Clinic in Dexter. This suggests that while the listing includes her name, the current operational aspects and service quality should be evaluated based on the experiences at the Dexter Animal Clinic's current establishment.
Based on available customer feedback, it appears that Dexter Animal Clinic offers a variety of veterinary services, as indicated by a customer mentioning their dog having lumps aspirated and x-rays performed at this location. This suggests that the clinic is equipped to handle diagnostic procedures. The fact that they liaised with a cancer veterinarian also implies a willingness to collaborate on more specialized cases, potentially offering a bridge between general veterinary care and specialist services.
However, some customer reviews raise concerns regarding the clinic's organizational efficiency. One reviewer mentioned experiencing frequent and prolonged hold times when calling, as well as encountering busy signals. This could indicate potential issues with call management and accessibility, which might lead to frustration for pet owners trying to reach the clinic for appointments or urgent matters.
A significant concern raised in the reviews pertains to the quality of diagnostic work. A customer reported that x-rays and aspirated samples taken at Dexter Animal Clinic were deemed to be of poor quality by a consulting cancer veterinarian, necessitating a repeat of these procedures. This is a critical aspect of veterinary care, as accurate diagnostics are fundamental to effective treatment planning. Such an experience could lead to increased costs, delays in treatment, and added stress for both the pet and the owner.
Furthermore, a customer shared their disappointment with post-bereavement communication. Despite the clinic sending a condolence card after their dog's passing, they continued to receive notifications for routine check-ups and vaccinations for the deceased pet. This lack of updated record-keeping and potentially insensitive automated communication can be distressing for grieving pet owners.
Another review expressed general dissatisfaction with multiple negative experiences, leading the customer to seek veterinary care elsewhere. The reviewer's statement about finding it "difficult to understand why these people are still in business" and describing the situation as "pretty grim" suggests significant shortcomings in their overall service delivery and customer experience.
Considering these reviews, local users seeking a Pet Hospital in Dexter, MI, should approach Dexter Animal Clinic with caution and perhaps consider these points when making their decision. While the clinic seemingly offers a range of services, including diagnostics, the reported issues with organization, call handling, diagnostic quality, and post-service communication are important factors to take into account.
For local pet owners, it is advisable to further research and potentially seek more recent feedback or consider alternative veterinary clinics in the Dexter area to ensure they find a Pet Hospital that meets their expectations for reliable, efficient, and compassionate care. When choosing a veterinary provider, factors such as clear communication, efficient service, accurate diagnostics, and a supportive environment are crucial for a positive experience and the well-being of your beloved pets.
Dexter Animal Clinic can be contacted at (734) 426-4631 or via mobile phone at +1 734-426-4631 for further inquiries. However, prospective clients may want to consider the experiences shared by previous customers when deciding whether this clinic aligns with their needs and expectations for veterinary care.
As a Pet Hospital in the Dexter, MI area, Dexter Animal Clinic is physically located at 9500 N Territorial Rd. While the online listing associates the name Danes Sandra DVM, it is essential for potential clients to evaluate the clinic based on its current operational standards and the experiences of recent customers. The reviews highlight both the presence of veterinary services and significant concerns regarding the quality and efficiency of those services, as well as the overall customer experience.
In conclusion, Dexter Animal Clinic functions as a Pet Hospital in Dexter, Michigan, offering veterinary services that include diagnostic procedures such as lump aspirations and x-rays. However, potential clients should be aware of the reported issues concerning organizational efficiency, call management, the quality of diagnostic work, and customer service, particularly regarding communication and record-keeping. It is recommended that local users conduct further research and consider these factors when choosing a veterinary care provider for their pets.
