I see a different vet almost every time, but I don’t care about that. The Vet Techs are the best! You can tell they love and care about animals. I’ve had cats and dogs and both have been treated very well. When one of my cats passed away, they sent me a lovely handwritten letter. I’ve seen them since I’ve been here (2001), and I’m glad they still feel like a local community veterinary clinic even with all the new developments around.

As a local Pet Hospital, Dessau Veterinary Clinic aims to provide a comfortable and caring environment for both you and your animal companions. While specific details about the clinic's physical environment are not explicitly available online, the positive feedback regarding the veterinary technicians suggests a warm and animal-loving atmosphere. One long-term client, who has been with the clinic since 2001, highlights the consistent feeling of a "local community veterinary clinic," even amidst area developments. This implies a commitment to personalized care and a familiar, approachable setting.

The services offered at Dessau Veterinary Clinic appear to encompass a range of general veterinary care for both cats and dogs. Based on customer reviews, the clinic provides consultations, examinations, and diagnostic procedures, including bloodwork. The mention of prescription dog food recommendations also suggests the availability of dietary counseling and potentially a pharmacy for pet medications. However, one review notes instances where initial diagnoses were unclear, requiring further testing and consultation.

One of the frequently praised features of Dessau Veterinary Clinic is its team of Veterinary Technicians. Multiple reviews commend their care, passion for animals, and gentle approach. One customer specifically mentioned, "The Vet Techs are the best! You can tell they love and care about animals." This positive feedback indicates a dedicated support staff that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of patients. Furthermore, the thoughtful gesture of sending a handwritten letter upon the passing of a pet demonstrates a compassionate and empathetic approach to client care.

However, it is important to present a balanced view based on all available information. One detailed review raises concerns regarding the handling of a well-trained dog during examinations, where the dog was allegedly held down without exhibiting aggression, causing stress. This feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in handling procedures and a need for a more tailored approach based on individual animal temperaments. The same review also expresses dissatisfaction with the diagnostic process, citing multiple visits with varying treatment plans and a delay in receiving crucial bloodwork results. The reviewer felt that the veterinarian made them feel judged and that communication regarding test results and treatment was lacking. This highlights areas where communication and diagnostic efficiency could be improved.

Considering the available information, Dessau Veterinary Clinic appears to be a long-standing local pet hospital with a team of caring and passionate veterinary technicians. Their commitment to the community and empathetic approach, as evidenced by the condolence letter, are positive aspects. However, potential clients should be aware of the concerns raised regarding communication, diagnostic clarity, and handling procedures in certain cases. It is always advisable to discuss any specific concerns or needs directly with the clinic staff to ensure a comfortable and effective veterinary experience for your pet.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available online for Dessau Veterinary Clinic. For any ongoing promotions, special offers, or new services, it is recommended to contact the clinic directly via phone at (512) 339-3177 or +1 512-339-3177. You can also inquire about their current practices, appointment procedures, and any specific protocols they have in place to ensure a positive experience for your pet.

In conclusion, Dessau Veterinary Clinic, as a Pet Hospital in Austin, Texas, offers veterinary services with a focus on compassionate care, particularly highlighted by their dedicated veterinary technicians. While long-term clients appreciate their community feel, potential clients should consider the feedback regarding communication and certain procedural aspects and engage in direct communication with the clinic to address any individual needs or concerns for their pets.

My dog is a very well trained dog of 7 years, who I have had his whole life. The vet techs held him down to the ground through the entire appointment when he demonstrated no signs of aggression. I really regret not asking them to get off of him. He was seriously stressed. The techs seem passionate about dogs, but two of the women are very loud and energetic. Not a therapeutic way to approach a sick dog. I took him 3 times over 1 month, paying $400-700 per visit for the vet to make random guesses and treatment plans for my dog’s symptoms. Finally after bloodwork, we found he had pancreatitis. The bloodwork had to be sent to A&M for reading. I took him on a Tuesday and was told they’d call me with results by the end of the week or the following week. The Friday of the following week, I called because they hadn’t communicated anything to me and my dog was still sick. They had the results and the vet went on vacation so they just didn’t tell me anything. They switched between two different prescription dog food recommendations and discouraged me from feeding him a real food diet (chicken/rice). My sister works at A&M and thankfully she was able to get the results read and recommendations for care sent straight from the A&M vet team. What do you know, but a recommendation for chicken and rice. All 3 visits, the vet made me feel judged, she made comments upon entering the exam room about how she has just seen my dog, as if it was my fault he was still sick or that it was not appropriate to bring him so frequently. I have seen a handful of vets in my days, but this one took the cake. I am not a Google review kind of person but I would hate for anyone to spend a dime or waste their time here. Wildly unprofessional.

Our German Shepherd, General, has been visiting Dessau Vet Clinic for eight years. They are the sweetest bunch of people. They love our fur baby. General is always excited to see his humans there. They know he is our baby and they treat him with tenderness, compassion and love. We are so grateful to know he is always in good hands.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. The vet techs were all wonderful, but that’s the only positive thing I could say. The vet Dr. Campbell has the WORST bed side manner of any vet I’ve ever met. Instantly was combative and unpleasant. Even the vet techs made a comment about how difficult it is to work with her. I’ve been to a dozen vets in my life and this was the ONLY one that I’ve had a hard time working with.
