Excellent care and flexible! We take our dog Tony who lives between VA, Kansas City, and Puerto Rico, and they are understanding and don't make us repeat vaccines/tests if we bring documentation from his other vets. They allow walk-in nail clipping, time permitting. We also brought our previous dog Riley here too. Very happy with the care!

I used this vet for my cat twice with negative to mixed results. One time, my cat was limping so I took her in to be seen. While they were examining her, she started to wiggle/hiss and they DROPPED her. Legitimately the tech threw her arms up and just walked out of the room. The vet said there didn’t appear to be a problem, even after I expressed concern that her leg was already in pain and now she’d been dropped from chest-height. The front desk staff however was always friendly and helpful, so I wanted to add a star.

My dog was bitten by another dog in the waiting room. No one, not even the vet, seem to take it seriously. I had to call animal control myself as I couldn't tell if they were going to do that (it wasn't explained to me). I didn't find anyone who worked there to be particularly very fond of my dog, and it is expensive. The owner of the biting dog paid for the medication for my dog, but she never apologized for the bite. Also, I would expect the hospital to reach out to me through a phone call or email apologizing for the incident, or offering some kind of concern, but I've heard nothing. I wished I had read the other reviews before I went there.

Zero stars. Please do not take your pets to Del Ray Animal Hospital. We are still suffering from a nightmare experience on October 18. We visited to check my dog's eyes, which were tearing more than usual. Without much overview of the implications and consequences, Dr. Gordon performed an incredibly invasive procedure in office that has caused my dog severe pain and vision impairment. I believe he was misdiagnosed and certainly mistreated. The solution they offered was 10x worse than the problem. We're working with another vet and an ophthalmologist to repair his vision and try to keep him comfortable as he heals back to baseline. This procedure has caused irreparable damage and extensive stress for my pet. At minimum, be sure that you ask questions and advocate for your pet wherever you go, and please, please do not follow the advice of Del Ray Animal Hospital.

The theme of the preceding reviews is accurate, the front desk staff is less than to be desired. A year ago, I arrived with my rescue pup to a visibly irritable (for no reason) sassy woman. Fast forward to today, and there are 2 girls at the front desk talking about personal drama. One of them was talking about "how [a friend, I assume] had clearly blocked her" and the other chuckled and said "wow." The latter had too much filler and her eyebrows were too fluffy, like get off TikTok and study customer service. Any who, they clearly need to hire and adequately pay more seasoned front desk staff, but both visits, these folks have been so unbearable. I won't be returning. The star is for Dr. Morrow though, she was thorough, kind, and attentive - I hope the practice is good to her and that her own reputation isn't tarnished by the unpleasant reception experience that currently exists.
