Welcome to Dansville Animal Hospital
Dansville Animal Hospital, located at 110 Clara Barton St, Dansville, NY 14437, USA, operates as a local "Pet Hospital" serving the Dansville community and surrounding areas. They can be reached via phone at (585) 335-6058 or mobile at +1 585-335-6058. As a pet hospital, their primary function is to provide veterinary care for companion animals, encompassing a range of services and potentially goods for sale related to animal health and wellness.
The **environment** at Dansville Animal Hospital, based on customer feedback, presents a mixed picture. Some experiences suggest a generally accommodating and pleasant environment, particularly concerning the interactions with the veterinary staff. One customer notes a willingness to "put in your file that you do not want to see" specific individuals, which indicates a flexible and customer-service-oriented approach to maintaining a comfortable experience for both pet and owner. This adaptability suggests a commitment to addressing individual client preferences within the clinic setting. However, other reviews point to potential inconsistencies in the operational environment, specifically regarding clinic hours and staff stability. Concerns about the clinic closing "an hour early" without notification, and perceived "staff shake-up," could lead to an environment of uncertainty and inconvenience for some clients, particularly those traveling a distance or working late. This suggests that while individual interactions can be positive, there might be underlying operational challenges affecting the overall reliability and predictability of the clinic's environment for all users.
The **services** offered by Dansville Animal Hospital, as a "Pet Hospital," would typically include a broad spectrum of veterinary care. While the provided reviews do not detail specific medical services, the context of routine visits ("our visits here," "last years experience," "normal check-ups" implied) suggests they provide general veterinary services. These services would commonly include:
- Routine Check-ups and Wellness Exams: Essential for maintaining pet health, these would involve physical examinations, discussions about nutrition, and general health assessments.
- Vaccinations: Core and non-core vaccinations are a standard offering at any veterinary clinic to protect pets from common diseases.
- Preventative Care: This would encompass parasite control (flea, tick, and heartworm prevention), and possibly dental care, which are crucial for long-term pet well-being.
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses/Injuries: As a pet hospital, they would be equipped to diagnose and treat a variety of common pet ailments, injuries, and chronic conditions.
- Surgical Procedures: While not explicitly mentioned, most full-service animal hospitals offer common surgical procedures such as spaying, neutering, and minor soft tissue surgeries.
Several **features** of Dansville Animal Hospital emerge from the provided customer feedback, showcasing both strengths and areas of concern.
- Accommodating Staff for Individual Preferences: A significant positive feature is their willingness to accommodate client preferences regarding which vet or tech they see. The ability to "put in your file that you do not want to see them" reflects a strong focus on customer satisfaction and a flexible approach to patient care, which is highly valued by clients.
- Compassionate Individual Professionals: Despite some negative experiences, specific vets are described as "pleasant" and possessing "just as much compassion for my animals." This indicates that individual members of the veterinary team are dedicated and caring, forming positive bonds with their patients and clients.
- Client Loyalty (Historical): The phrase "once impeccable vet office" and the hesitation to "change to a different vet office" suggest that the hospital historically enjoyed a strong reputation and built significant client loyalty over time. This indicates a solid foundation of quality care in the past.
- Inconsistent Operational Reliability: Closing early without notification and perceived "staff shake-up" points to potential inconsistencies in management and operational stability. This directly impacts client convenience and trust.
- Communication Issues: The lack of notification for early closing highlights a significant communication breakdown with clients, leading to wasted travel and frustration.
- Perceived Decline in Service Quality: The comment "not sure what happened to this once impeccable vet office" and "This place really started going down" suggests a perceived decline in overall service or management quality by some long-term clients.
In terms of **promotional information**, Dansville Animal Hospital would likely rely on word-of-mouth referrals, particularly from its long-standing clients, and potentially highlight its accommodating nature.
- Customer Accommodation: The clinic can promote its flexibility in allowing clients to request specific vets or techs, or to note preferences in their files. This is a unique selling point for clients who value personalized service.
- Compassionate Care by Specific Vets: Highlighting the positive experiences with particular veterinarians, who are described as "pleasant" and "compassionate," can be used to attract clients seeking a caring and understanding approach to veterinary medicine.
- Historical Reputation: While some recent reviews are negative, the acknowledgement of it being a "once impeccable vet office" suggests that the clinic has a history of providing high-quality care. This historical strength could be leveraged in promotional materials to reassure potential clients of their foundational capabilities.

Apr 23, 2025 · Christy GI'm not sure what happened to this once impeccable vet office. I want to start by saying that this is not directed at the staff, but rather the owner (which I believe is the vet?). Closing an hour early (yes, an hour early) and NOT notifying people who work until 4/4:30 PM and driving 30ish minutes to get there? Insane. If the owners want to be cheap, they can continue to lose patients, because I have other vets surrounding me with just as much compassion for my animals and are closer to home… This place really started going down when they had their staff shake-up... Nothing but disappointment found here. -signed, a displeased dog owner.
May 18, 2025 · Rowan LockeExpect high fees, work short hour's and no emergency services, poor business policies. Owner does NO community service to local humane societies. Also don't take your pet to the vets that come to Tractor Supply and offer some basic care and decent prices for immunizations, they will drop you as a client.
Apr 05, 2025 · Chris MacNaughtonAwful experience. I tried getting pricing for spaying my kittens and the receptionist refused to disclose any prices. She said it varies based on weight. They're kittens. How much could it possibly vary? I asked for an estimate as they are only 5 lbs. She refused again. She stated I would first need to be seen for an appointment by the Dr and then they'd let me know. I explained how ridiculous it was to make me come in for unnecessary appointment as both kittens were just seen at a vet for all their shots a couple weeks ago. This place is just a money grab. In the end she said it would likely be over $300 per cat but she wouldn't give me a definite answer. I emailed another local vet and immediately received pricing and a date for the surgery! That's how customer service should be! This place should be ashamed of their deceitful practices. I will be taking my other pets to the new vet also. I refuse to pour money into a place that cares more about money than animals.
Mar 28, 2025 · Lindsey PardeeAmazing-10 stars! Our boy kitty was in the beginning stages of what seemed to be an uti. My regular vet was not helpful and referred me to emergency vet. I called eight emergency veterinary establishments and not one would see us. I remembered that a friend is a client here and called. Jenna was amazing! So calm and understanding on the phone and was able to squeeze me in between appointments. I was beyond grateful! They took us in and examined him and ran tests and treated him. The doctors explained everything and were very informative and understanding. My whole experience here was kind, caring and supportive. I highly recommend the Dansville Animal Hospital!!!
