I brought my guinea pig to Dale City Animal Hospital because she was having problems eating. We were told that the Vet had experience with piggies so we trusted she would be well taken care of. I spent $400 to have her treated (trim/anesthesia). After the “trim”, my guinea pig lost a bunch of weight and her digestive system was destroyed. After two weeks, she still seemed to be in pain and eating didn’t get any easier for her. We finally took her to another vet and was told that her teeth were still completely overgrown (like they hadn’t been touched) and her jaw fractured, likely due to rough handling during the prior dental procedure. We spent another $300 to have her teeth trimmed properly, but unfortunately, the damage to her jaw is permanent and will likely need surgery. She hasn’t gained her weight back and now has to be syringe fed permanently. It’s been almost 2 months and her digestion still hasn’t gone back to normal which also causes her pain. 😔 Keep your piggies far away from this facility.

Feb 04, 2025 · Maritza PerryThere is another Vet out there that says “We treat your pets like family.” Well they were wrong, Dale City Animal Hospital is where I felt they treated my boy like family, I will never forget the kindness I was shown and my boy (who swallowed a corn cob). I had called EVERYONE and no one was willing to help, they made it happen. Because of your team, I still have my boy. Thank you doesn’t quite describe it.
Sep 18, 2024 · Stacy PalmerI recently went to Dale City Animal Hospital w a foster cat I have. They recently moved and have a new facility which is large, clean and very welcoming. I got an appointment approximately a week or so after I called. The front desk staff was courteous and nice and I was checked in right after arriving. I did wait a little for my appointment but that’s pretty standard for a veterinary office. We saw Dr Drake whom I found to be very informative and was willing to listen to my concerns, which I had a lot of. I really liked the way she seems to summarize her findings and she was gentle and compassionate with my foster who is an older cat who has not had the best life before coming into our rescue. I was very happy with her plan of action and her recommendations. She called me as soon as she had the lab results which I appreciated and gave me an outline of what our next steps should/could be. Again, I found her to be very informative in her explanations and the possible plan of treatment. I was very surprised when my phone rang at 8:15 tonight and showed DCAH. She had received a lab test we were waiting on and had taken time out of her busy day (when she probably just wanted to get home) to let me know the outcome. I thought that was pretty great. All in all, I’m very very pleased with everything at this location and I consider myself to be pretty picky, and Dr Drake is a caring vet whom has a great “bedside” manner, or should I say table side manner 😻. Thank you DCAH and Dr Drake for being so good to my sweet foster boy who deserves the best after his first 12-15 years of life which were not so great.
Feb 21, 2024 · M AyersI called Dale City Animal Hospital after my current vet (Ridge Lake Animal Hospital) said they were to busy to see my 16yo fur baby who I thought might need to be put down due to years of kidney issues was suffering unexpectedly. They responded saying we are booking out weeks in advance, sorry taker her to a local emergency room! WTH! Anyways I called DCAH and they fit us in the very next day, thankfully my senior fur baby’s issues were addressed, we came up with a plan and I already have a follow up appointment in a month to recheck kidney function! Listen I get it Doctors get busy, but don’t do this to current patients or you’ll loose them…
Nov 01, 2024 · Chris PyleI took my Pet to this place cuz I missed my appointment with my current Veterinarian in Dumfries for my pet, but he was not able to be diagnosed or examined. I took him as an option and emergency cuz I see something yellowish and red skin on his tail. The veterinarian took him inside for an evaluation and examination they said, but I quickly came back him telling us he will not let us do anything, but when we were trying to hold him and let him to her examine him, veterinarian not even try to closer to my rotty. I know many people gets scared because a rotty but it all depends how you treat them and raise them. But I really don’t like this place to be honest In the way they examine dogs and diagnose symptoms and any other problems with pets.
