CVCA Cardiac Care For Pets

I am so thankful to the Pet ER and CVCA for saving my sweet pup’s life. I took her in at 11:45 PM with breathing problems and a racing irregular, heartbeat. They quickly provided tests, meds, and put her in an oxygen chamber for 12 hours. The cardiologist gave us the heartbreaking news that she had an acute rupture of the heart valve and was in congestive heart failure. After 18 hours they sent her home with a plan and medications to help stabilize her heart. They have ordered her meds, called to check in on us, answered my questions via email within 24 hours, and worked cooperatively with my vet. I am so thankful for their amazing, knowledgeable, and ongoing care. They said “once our patient, always our patient.” I have worked with different cardiologists & everyone has been so caring and helpful. I know they will be with me until the end. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

We had an appointment with Dr. Jacob. We were greeted by Jen, extremely friendly and professional. We were taken back by our technician for the visit, she too was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to be present during our cat's echo, and Dr. Jacob explained all the findings, treatment, and prognosis with great care an empathy. Overall I could not have asked for a better care team, especially given the diagnosis he received. Highly recommend! As a note, you enter through a building with a sign for CVRC, CVCA is located inside, you're not in the wrong place (we were a bit confused).

This is the second dog I have had that was under care by the cardiologists at CVCA. Both times I was impressed by the level of care they received, and the caring, empathetic interaction with the cardiologists, techs, and staff. They have always taken time to explain my pets' conditions in detail, the likely progression of their disease, and options to extend the quality and duration of their lives. They are extremely good at responding to questions in detail and promptly by email or in person. Explaining prognosis, progression, and effect of medication.

My dog had a heart issue and was recommended by my regular vet to see a cardiologist and post pone the current surgery but every place was 8-10 weeks out. I called around and CVCA Columbia got us in next day! I was so grateful to the staff and Dr Stern. He took great care examining my pet and explaining her situation. I never felt rushed and he answered every question. It was worth the hour and half drive! I highly recommend. I was even allowed to go back with my dog and help soothe her during the exam and echocardiogram. That made a big difference in getting good images in my opinion. It’s rare to get that ability to go back with your pet during procedures! Their kindness and professionalism is superb. I Will gladly make the long drive again for the follow up.

This was my and my pets' first experience with CVCA and it could not have been any better. Everything was great and I am most appreciative of the care, professionalism, and personal touch given by the doctor and assistants. It certainly exceeded my expectations. Thank you!
