Welcome to CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets
Welcome to CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, a specialized Pet Hospital dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in animals. We understand that heart conditions can significantly impact your beloved pet's health, well-being, and longevity. As a leading center for veterinary cardiology, our mission is to provide exceptional, compassionate, and cutting-edge cardiac care for dogs, cats, and other animal species. Unlike general practice Pet Hospitals, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets offers a focused expertise in the complex field of veterinary cardiology, bringing together advanced technology and highly specialized veterinary cardiologists.
At CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, our environment is specifically designed to facilitate comprehensive cardiac evaluations and treatments. Our clinics are equipped with state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostic equipment, including advanced echocardiography machines with color Doppler and spectral Doppler capabilities, electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) systems for monitoring heart rhythm, digital radiography for assessing heart size and lung health, and telemetry systems for continuous cardiac monitoring. We also have comfortable and safe areas for patient recovery and monitoring post-procedures. Our focus on cardiology ensures that our facilities are optimized for delivering the highest level of cardiac care.
The cornerstone of CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is our team of board-certified veterinary cardiologists. These specialists have undergone extensive post-graduate training in cardiology, including residencies and rigorous board examinations, signifying the highest level of expertise in the field. Our cardiologists possess in-depth knowledge of various cardiac conditions affecting animals, from congenital heart defects and acquired heart diseases to arrhythmias and heart failure. They are dedicated to providing accurate diagnoses and developing individualized treatment plans based on the latest scientific advancements. Our team also includes highly trained veterinary technicians and support staff who are experienced in assisting with cardiac procedures and providing compassionate care to our patients and their owners.
The services offered at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets are comprehensive and tailored to address the full spectrum of cardiac conditions in animals. A primary service is advanced cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, which uses ultrasound waves to create detailed images of the heart's structure and function. This non-invasive technique allows our cardiologists to assess heart chamber size, valve function, blood flow patterns, and identify abnormalities. Electrocardiography (ECG) is used to evaluate the electrical activity of the heart and diagnose arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). We also utilize digital radiography to assess the size and shape of the heart and evaluate the lungs for signs of fluid buildup associated with heart failure.
In addition to diagnostic services, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets offers a range of interventional cardiac procedures. These minimally invasive procedures are often performed using catheter-based techniques, reducing the need for traditional open-chest surgery. Examples include balloon valvuloplasty to widen narrowed heart valves, patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) occlusion to close an abnormal blood vessel, and pacemaker implantation to regulate slow heart rates. These advanced procedures can significantly improve the quality of life and prognosis for pets with certain heart conditions.
Medical management of heart disease is another critical aspect of our services. Our cardiologists develop tailored medication regimens to manage symptoms of heart failure, control arrhythmias, and improve cardiac function. We provide detailed instructions on medication administration and closely monitor our patients' response to treatment, making adjustments as needed. We also offer nutritional counseling and guidance on lifestyle modifications to support optimal cardiac health.
A key feature of CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is our commitment to collaboration with your primary veterinarian. We understand the importance of a strong veterinary-client-patient relationship and work closely with your general practitioner to ensure seamless and coordinated care. Following a cardiac evaluation or procedure, we provide your primary veterinarian with a comprehensive report outlining our findings, diagnosis, and treatment plan. We maintain open communication to ensure continuity of care and the best possible outcome for your pet.
At CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, we recognize the emotional challenges associated with having a pet with heart disease. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate support and clear communication throughout the diagnostic and treatment process. We take the time to explain complex cardiac conditions in an understandable manner, answer your questions thoroughly, and involve you in all decisions regarding your pet's care. Our goal is to provide not only exceptional medical care but also emotional support for you and your family.
The environment at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is designed to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible for our patients. Our staff is trained in gentle handling techniques and understands the specific needs of pets with cardiac conditions. We strive to create a calm and reassuring atmosphere during examinations and procedures. We also provide clear and detailed instructions for at-home care to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal management of your pet's heart condition.
As a specialized cardiac center, our service offerings are primarily focused on the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. We typically do not offer routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, general surgery, or other services commonly provided by general practice veterinary hospitals. Our expertise lies specifically in veterinary cardiology. If your pet has other health concerns, we recommend consulting with their primary veterinarian.
While specific promotional offers may vary, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is committed to providing the highest level of specialized cardiac care. We encourage pet owners to contact us directly to inquire about our consultation fees and the estimated costs of diagnostic procedures and treatments. Our team can provide you with detailed information about the financial aspects of your pet's care. We believe that investing in expert cardiac care can significantly improve your pet's quality of life and potentially extend their lifespan.
In conclusion, CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets is a specialized Pet Hospital dedicated to providing expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of cardiovascular diseases in animals. Mar 05, 2025 · john behallThis clinic is the gold standard of what a veterinary care facility should be like. Dr.Smith spent an hour examining our pup. She is absolutely incredible. She talked to our dog directly and took the time to observe him and treated him with respect. She went above and beyond what any other vet has ever done. Also her team is amazing!!! Thank you so much .
Mar 14, 2025 · SchifmanThe staff at CVCA are all amazing. Dr.Smith was incredibly kind and talked us through the whole process. I was anxious leading up to the appt, but the moment I talked to the staff I felt at ease. I knew I made the right decision bringing my baby Benson (cat) to CVCA. They were so gentle with him, and I got to stay with him through the whole process. I truly recommend CVCA.
