We adopted cats from the humane society and this vet was listed in our adoption papers as a participant offering a free first check-up. Our one cat also needed a booster vaccine so we scheduled an appointment for checkup and shot. The staff was pleasant, the checkup was fine, but the wait time was longer than we liked between getting called back and then waiting for the vet to come in after the tech. The appointment was for 10:30 and the vet didn’t conduct the exam until after 11:25. The appointment wrapped up around 11:45. Our regularly very chill cats became stressed and my husband had to handle them both. Despite the apologies for a delay and pleasant staff and Dr., we don’t anticipate switching to this vet for primary care. It seems like a solid practice with upfront pricing (we asked when making appointment) but not the best fit for us at this time. We ARE glad to note their partnership with the humane society, however, and wouldn’t deter pet parents from checking them out.

Mar 09, 2025 · CJ AnthonStaff, and Doctor are great! Brought my dog in for an unexpected emergency visit. Me and my dog were brought back and took care of immediately. 10/10 recommend! Thank you all again for being so great!
Feb 04, 2025 · Destiny ShifflettSo my mom took her cat in to have surgery at another location. The surgery went well, but unfortunately, the cat eventually passed. She was old (>13 years), so the outcome was not out of the realm of expectation given both her age and the condition. There was no mention after the surgery of the cat having scratched anyone during recovery. So my mother brought the cat to Croydon to have her cremated. In the process of the cremation, the cat was turned over to animal control because of the scratch that, according to the records, occurred AFTER the cat has passed and at Croydon which the cat was never at following surgery and only before. So if someone got scratched there, they scratched themselves on a deceased cat. Unfortunately, in this whole process, the cat's remains were never turned over to the family, which I understand will happen during testing for rabies; however, the family was never contacted that the cat was turned over and it wasn't until several weeks later that we found out because we had to call them. Cremation services were paid for and no refund was issued.
Nov 22, 2024 · Ryan KrauchThis vet place are scammers. I should have seen the reviews before entering but I was in a rush to get my dog groomed. I usually go to petsmart to get my dogs groomed but he was matted and so they gave me Croyden info and another place that offers grooming to take off mats off my dog. I called this place and because they had an open available appointment the same day I took it instead of calling the other place in which i regret so much cause they wanted to charge me $65 for checking my dogs temperature. I asked the lady on the phone how much it would cost for GROOMING and to take the matts off she just said $65 never told me that’s the charge for an “exam” & it would be another charge for that. When I got there my appointment was 2:30pm and then I didn’t get seen until 3pm. One lady did my dog’s vitals which was $65 . Which was just a temperature check… for $65 is crazy. Then the doctor said he would had to sedate my dog for the grooming so I ask them how much it would cost.. they come out with a paper for $500 for a GROOMING. I paid a $50 deposit so I never got that back but also when I was checking out the ladies up front were laughing. This place is a JOKE. Also when you come in it’s just weird vibes. I called the other place to see there prices and they were shocked a place was charging $500 for grooming & then also sedating my dog. They said that was unnecessary unless the dog was difficult to work with but even then if they had to do that they would call me and let me know and go on from there. After leaving the place I ended up looking at the reviews and there are similar reviews that they overcharge you and try to get money out of you. I would not recommend this place at all.
Nov 04, 2024 · Melissa GabrielaBLUF: Overall, this is a vet. Not great, but not absolutely terrible. I don't want to go back as I don't trust them and dont feel comfortable. That being said, I do not approve of their sales and fear tactics as well as pricing. They are extremely pushy with heartworm medication while just about screaming it's importance to me and that she needs to be on it for the rest of her life. The nurse was very rough with my dog when inserting the thermometer...multiple times. The nurse seemed nice though, just rough and/or inexperienced. I also had my cat brought in for an infection in a spay wound. They sad the skin was dying and needed surgery to remove it and stitch the area or the necrosis will spread even more. Total cost would've been somewhere around ~$4-500 not including any medications. Took my cat to another vet and they said it didn't need surgery, just a cone and pain/antibiotic medication and it'll heal up just fine. For a cost example of vaccines: Exam = $87.68 (tax included) Hazardous waste removal = $11.86 Rabies Vaccine = $99.94 Total cost for this visit: $199.48 They wouldn't give my dog her vaccine unless they did an "exam" which was just the use of the stethoscope. I also wanted another vaccine done, but the doctor said it was too early and to come back in January, which may have been true, but I have an inkling that it's just another chance to charge me $200. They also wanted to push a fecal test on me since I couldn't recall if she had it done at 6 months or not (Turns out she did). Their response was "you can just do it today it's only $20 " or $25, I can't recall. They had asked about her distemper because her 1st dose wasn't on her records and I explained that the breeder had it done before she came to me. The nurse and doc whispered/talked and from my perspective the doc raised his voice saying that only a veterinarian can do that. The breeder has their own private vet that administered it. Last experience example: My dog broke her femur. Brought her in for an emergency visit to get it checked out and he lifted her leg and dropped it to see it sway back and forth saying "Yeah it's not supposed to do that" or something similar. After that, he talked me into X-Rays and medication, but couldn't perform the surgery because that needs a specialty doctor (I appreciate that honesty at least). Below is what that all cost me: Meloxidyl 1.5mg/ml - 10 mL bottle = $110.88 Gabapentin 100mg = $33 Zenalpha = $83.26 Exam = $87.68 x-ray initial = $393.76 x-ray additional = $191.90 sedation 0-50lbs = $27.45 hazard waste removal = $11.86 Hospitalization/nurse care = $45.74 Military discount = ($8.33) (thank you) Total = $977.20 in this one-day visit I honestly feel like I can't trust vets anymore.
Oct 11, 2024 · Justin JonesI am editing my review because I'm starting to rethink my vet, especially after seeing the reviews on here match how I'm feeling and they responded!. I feel like I just got had, I spent my entire paycheck on a recheck which ended up being more expensive than the initial visit and I didn't even see my vet, it was a fill in and I was irritated that guy sold me flea and tick when my cats don't have fleas. I combed them both over and watched him comb them and there was no evidence of fleas or flea dirt. During the recheck a vet didn't even set eyes on my cat, the technician took one photo and came back with a 450 and dollar estimate. I left feeling like my cat didn't need anything else from this place after feeling like I failed to receive any diagnosis or explanation that made any sense as to why I was paying so much for so little. I need a better vet that can communicate with me I damn sure ain't paying to not even see the vet. I'm so mad. I don't want to go back. I'm also massively irritated I got a reply back trying to clarify the situation which is justifying everything I already said happened. I'm mad I paid over 800 dollars for this to be clarified to me (and the public) over a GOOGLE review instead of AT the appointment. Why am I paying for a doctor visit WITHOUT speaking to a doctor. Where's the refund for services not rendered? fool me once shame on me fool me twice shame on you. There is not gonna be a third. Please just save your time and money, find yourself a better vet.
