Crossroads Veterinary Clinic/Selbyville Animal Hospital Introduce

Located at 36774 Dupont Blvd, Selbyville, DE 19975, USA, Crossroads Veterinary Clinic/Selbyville Animal Hospital serves as a vital resource for pet owners in the local community. Operating under the combined name, this establishment functions as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," offering a wide array of services designed to ensure the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. The consistent positive feedback from clients underscores their commitment to high-quality care and a client-centric approach.

Environment and Atmosphere

While specific architectural or interior design details are not extensively documented, the recurring theme in customer reviews suggests a welcoming and comfortable environment. The emphasis on the staff's kindness and patience, particularly Dr. Brandt and Shelby, implies that the clinic prioritizes a calm and supportive atmosphere for both pets and their owners. For many pets, a vet visit can be a source of anxiety, and a calm, reassuring environment, combined with gentle handling by experienced professionals, significantly contributes to a more positive experience. This focus on creating a non-stressful setting indicates a well-organized and clean facility, which is fundamental for any medical establishment, especially one catering to animals. The personal touch and attention given to each pet, as highlighted by a client noting "My dogs get his full attention," suggests a warm and caring ambiance rather than a rushed or impersonal one.

Comprehensive Veterinary Services

As a full-service "Pet Hospital," Crossroads Veterinary Clinic/Selbyville Animal Hospital offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services to meet the diverse health needs of dogs and cats. Based on available information, key services include:

  • Exams & Vaccinations: The cornerstone of preventive care, routine wellness visits are strongly recommended. These typically involve thorough physical examinations to assess overall health, fecal examinations, necessary vaccinations (such as rabies and parvovirus), and preventive medication against common parasites like heartworms, fleas, and ticks. Dr. Brandt recommends wellness visits every six months and annual vaccinations for optimal health.
  • Radiology & X-rays: The clinic is equipped with digital radiology, allowing for immediate viewing of high-resolution images. This technology makes the process of taking X-rays more efficient and less stressful for pets, enabling veterinarians to evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems from the smallest kitten to the largest dog.
  • Blood Tests & Lab Work: Comprehensive laboratory services are available to provide crucial information about a pet's health. This includes blood samples analyzed for glucose, proteins, electrolytes, cholesterol, endocrine levels, and digestive enzymes. A complete blood count and blood chemistries are common tests performed to gain a deeper understanding of a pet's internal health.
  • Surgical Procedures: The hospital performs various surgical procedures, including routine spay/neuter operations, also known as "fixing," to prevent breeding. While specific details on the range of complex surgeries are not listed, the provision of general surgical services is confirmed.
  • Dentistry: Oral health is a key component of overall pet wellness. The clinic is skilled in diagnosing and treating dental disease, likely offering services such as dental cleanings and extractions.
  • Microchipping: This essential service aids in reuniting lost pets with their owners, providing a permanent form of identification.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on proper diet and exercise is often provided, as these are crucial for maintaining a pet's healthy weight and overall well-being.
  • Preventive Medication: Beyond vaccinations, the clinic emphasizes the importance of preventive medication against heartworms, fleas, and ticks to protect pets from common ailments.

It is important to note that the clinic currently states they are "Not Accepting New Patients at this Time," which indicates their dedication to providing focused care to their existing clientele. This is a crucial piece of information for new pet owners seeking veterinary services in the area.

Distinctive Features and Customer Experience

Having cared for eight of one client's dogs with "ZERO complaints" highlights a remarkable track record of consistent, high-quality service over many years.

The friendly and helpful nature of the entire staff, including Shelby, is repeatedly commended. This creates a welcoming atmosphere that eases the stress of vet visits for both pets and their owners. The efficiency of their appointment scheduling is also a notable advantage, with clients reporting that they were seen within a week for non-urgent concerns, demonstrating good organizational skills and responsiveness to client needs. The fact that Dr. Brandt is the only veterinarian on staff ensures that clients consistently see a familiar face, fostering a strong bond of trust and continuity of care.

The clinic's mission to "treat, educate, and help our clients understand the best treatment plan for their fur families" underscores their commitment to client education and partnership in pet health decisions. This empowers pet owners to make informed choices and actively participate in their pet's care.

Promotional Information and Recommendations

Crossroads Veterinary Clinic/Selbyville Animal Hospital has built a strong reputation primarily through word-of-mouth recommendations, driven by their exceptional customer service and veterinary expertise. The phone numbers, (302) 436-5984 and +1 302-436-5984, serve as the primary contact points for existing clients for appointments and inquiries. Dr Brandt is a caring veterinarian and is never too rushed to explain what鈥檚 going on with my pet. The doctor and his whole staff are extremely nice, they work fast and are professional & knowledgeable. I only wished his office was not so far from my home; Dr Brandt and my Marley are worth the trip. Sincerely, Marley鈥檚 Owner.

Dr Chris always takes time with his patients, explains issues and treatment options in plain language, and is very affordable. He is exactly the kind of vet I was looking for when we moved here.

Can't get ahold of anyone by phone to even set up an appointment for my cat. They do not seem to have a receptionist and the message says for people calling to not leave a message and just calls back later. I called multiple times and have not gotten through to anyone.. also message says they only answer phones between 10 and 3. Will say my parents do like them and they take their dog there.
