I had a Saturday night emergency and called ahead. When I got there the staff was so compassionate and quick! Dr. Kotrba had to perform unpleasant procedure on my furbaby (who was less than grateful). She was very quick and compassionate toward my puppy. I was worried so I didn't catch the name or title of the person who was helping but she was so sweet and kind too! Our issue was resolved and I would highly recommend this place if you ever have an after hours emergency. In case it helps they do accept the Care Credit card.

Important Considerations Regarding Past Experiences

It is important to acknowledge the significantly negative review provided. This review details deeply concerning experiences that allegedly occurred at Craven Animal Hospital prior to 2018, including issues during a pet's euthanasia and subsequent interactions. While this feedback is troubling, it is essential to consider the timeframe and the fact that the positive review focuses on a more recent emergency experience under what may be current management and staff, specifically mentioning Dr. Kotrba. We encourage potential clients to weigh all available information but to also consider that practices, personnel, and protocols can evolve over time. The positive review highlights the current team's compassionate and efficient handling of an emergency situation.

I had been with Craven Animal since before Dr. Bobbi. My first German Shepherd was put down there where a vet fussed and scolded me. The dog had LS disease and I had taken the dog to a specialist. My husband suffered a head on collision and it took time to get help transporting her. At the old location, the vet screamed at me during euthenasia. I should had never returned. My second Shepherd had pancreatitis and was just given antibiotics. She had great pain. When questioning about another dog's dental, I ended up on the receiving end of a second rant. All my records from 1988 to 2018 were mailed and I was told I "could not even call" Craven Animal. There were no law suits, and tons of money spent there, nothing to warrant such treatment. Bye.

I thought I found a kitten on the side of the road. This place was the only one open on the weekend but they would not take this cat and save its life without paying almost $200. Now this cat was not mine it was found. Unfortunately they would not help it. I have no respect for that

Took my dog as a transfer from the emergency vet hospital. They saw her first thing and were lovely to deal with.
