They DON'T listen! I told them since the day I brought my dog in - he's sensitive to medication - he's a Great Pyrenees. The prescribed him 100mg of Trazadone and 600 mg of Gabapentin. 2 to 3 tablets of Trazadone to be taken the night before along with 2 Gabapentin and then repeat the next day 2 to 3 hours before a visit. That is WAY TOO MUCH for his breed. If I would have followed his instructions before I took him to the emergency vet who sedated him - he would have died. The emergency vet and the primary are both at fault. The emergency vet didn't listen and overdosed him with a sedative and the primary is at fault for over prescribing the meds.

As a "Pet Hospital," Countryside Veterinary Clinic endeavors to create an environment that is both welcoming and functional for pets and their owners. Information from various sources suggests that the clinic strives for a clean and organized facility. While direct descriptions of the waiting room ambiance or specific calming elements are not extensively detailed, testimonials often mention the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, which contributes significantly to a positive and reassuring atmosphere. The goal is to make clients feel comfortable and informed during their visits, an important aspect given the often-stressful nature of veterinary appointments. The clinic is set up to handle various procedures, from routine check-ups to more involved medical interventions, implying dedicated spaces for examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
Countryside Veterinary Clinic offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, fitting the profile of a full-service "Pet Hospital." These services are designed to address the diverse health needs of pets throughout their lives. Key offerings typically include:
- Preventive and Wellness Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing routine examinations, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and parasite prevention and control programs. The emphasis is on proactive health management to prevent serious issues before they arise.
- Medical Services: For diagnosing and treating various health conditions, the clinic provides in-house laboratory testing for quick and efficient results, as well as imaging services such as digital radiography (X-rays).
- Surgical Procedures: They perform a range of surgeries, including common procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as other soft tissue surgeries as needed.

The features of Countryside Veterinary Clinic, as gleaned from public information and customer feedback, present a mixed but insightful picture. Many clients praise the staff for their kindness, attentiveness, and knowledge. Several reviews highlight the compassionate nature of the doctors and technicians, noting their patience with pets and their willingness to answer questions thoroughly. Some clients have lauded specific veterinarians, mentioning their knowledge and the time they take to explain conditions and treatment plans. This compassionate approach is often cited as a key reason for long-standing client loyalty. The clinic is also recognized for its proactive communication regarding treatment plans and general responsiveness to inquiries.
However, it is important to provide a balanced perspective, as some reviews indicate areas where client experiences have been less positive. Concerns have been raised regarding communication and listening skills in specific instances, particularly concerning medication dosages tailored to a pet's breed sensitivity. One review, for example, describes a concerning situation involving a Great Pyrenees where the prescribed medication was deemed excessive, leading to an emergency vet visit. Another significant point of contention highlighted in a review is the perceived lack of immediate emergency accommodation, even for long-standing clients, which resulted in a pet owner being directed to an emergency vet while their animal was in critical condition. These instances suggest that while generally compassionate, there might be inconsistencies in how emergency situations or specific client concerns are handled, or perhaps limitations in their capacity for immediate, unplanned urgent care, particularly close to closing hours. It is worth noting that some positive reviews specifically commend the clinic for their ability to "squeeze in" urgent cases when needed, suggesting that emergency accommodation might be situational and dependent on caseload and time of day.
Promotional information for Countryside Veterinary Clinic would likely emphasize their long-standing presence in the Lockport community, their comprehensive range of services, and the dedication of their staff. They would highlight their commitment to preventive care, their diagnostic capabilities, and the availability of surgical and dental services. Based on the positive testimonials, they would underscore the "caring, loving vets and staff" who provide "excellent care" and ensure pets are "well cared for." The ability to provide solutions for various pet health needs, from routine check-ups to more complex medical issues, is a strong selling point. The clinic's support for informed decision-making by pet owners regarding their pet's treatment options would also be a key message. Given the diverse feedback, promotional material might also implicitly or explicitly address their efforts to enhance communication and patient-specific care, ensuring all clients feel heard and supported, especially during critical times.

May 25, 2025 · Katie BrownVery disappointed. We’ve gone here for years for both of our dogs. Even followed the vet to another location to be true to him when he left for a short time. Our eldest dog was literally passing away unexpectedly in our backyard 40 minutes before close (we’re 20 minutes away) I called there sobbing asking for the Dr and to bring him in. I was put on hold for only about a minute and then told to ‘call an emergency vet’. My family was so devastated. We will never be returning there with our other current dog or any future pets. Big thumbs down from us and our poor Henry who’s crossed the rainbow bridge.
May 10, 2025 · Ashley RoskyOur puppy Gus was really sick. We got an appt. within days and after staying open after hours to do testing on our little guy, we left feeling very reassured with medicine and food to help Gus get back on track. Not only is the staff warm and caring, Dr. Sood called us with lab results in the afternoon, giving us good news that everything was going to be ok! Gus is already getting back to his normal puppy self one day later Can't wait to get our other dogs in. Ty Countryside!!
Sep 01, 2019 · Jamie KempAlways a good experience, Takes 3 people to trim my dog's nails, but they get it done each time and quickly!! Even after the experience, he still gets excited to be there and see everyone!! Thank You Countryside

Took my cat in for her rabies shot and physical and she was so scared and upset. Doctor Minko was very patient and gentle with her. She made suggestions to ease her stress for our next visit. Thank you so much for your caring and love of our precious pets! 4/14/25
