Welcome to Countryside Veterinary Clinic
Countryside Veterinary Clinic, located at 21995 Cole Rd #6524, Carthage, NY 13619, USA, operates as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" dedicated to the health and well-being of animals in the North Country region. This clinic prides itself on providing a wide array of veterinary services, catering to both small companion animals like dogs and cats, as well as large animals, including dairy cattle, beef cattle, horses, and small ruminants. This extensive scope of practice makes them a crucial resource for the diverse animal-owning community in and around Carthage, NY.
The environment at Countryside Veterinary Clinic is designed to be a place where "family pets find loving care." For many years, clients have entrusted their cherished companions to the clinic, highlighting a deep sense of loyalty and appreciation. This commitment to long-term care is exemplified by families who have brought multiple generations of pets to Countryside, from their earliest vaccinations to compassionate end-of-life care. The clinic understands the emotional bond between pets and their families, aiming to provide not just medical treatment but also emotional support, especially during difficult times, as reflected in heartfelt testimonials about handling the passing of beloved pets.
Countryside Veterinary Clinic offers a robust suite of veterinary services that cater to comprehensive animal health. For small animals, their offerings include essential preventative care such as wellness exams and vaccinations, crucial for maintaining long-term health and preventing disease. They also provide spay and neuter surgeries, contributing to responsible pet ownership. Advanced diagnostic tools like in-house laboratory testing and radiology (X-rays) are available, allowing for timely and accurate diagnoses. The clinic performs general surgery and offers dental care, recognizing the importance of oral health. Other services for companion animals include microchipping for identification, weight management programs, and a fully stocked pharmacy for medication needs. They also provide compassionate euthanasia and cremation services, supporting families through the painful process of saying goodbye to a pet.
Beyond small animals, Countryside Veterinary Clinic distinguishes itself with its extensive large animal services. They are noted as the largest provider of veterinary services for dairy and livestock farmers and horse owners throughout the North Country. Their ambulatory veterinarians travel to farms in Lewis, Oneida, Jefferson, and St. Lawrence counties, offering specialized care. This includes advanced techniques in reproduction and herd health services, supporting local farmers in producing high-quality food products. The clinic also has veterinary equine specialists on staff, addressing the specific health needs of horses.
A key feature of Countryside Veterinary Clinic is its established presence and continuity of care within the community. Having served families for years, they have built a foundation of trust and reliability. This is further supported by their status as Countryside Veterinary Clinic, LLP, which implies a structured and well-resourced practice. The clinic's commitment to growth and excellence is demonstrated by the welcoming of new veterinary talent, such as Dr. Emma Hawkins, who brings a passion for mixed animal veterinary medicine. This integration of new perspectives with established experience ensures that the clinic remains at the forefront of veterinary care.
However, it is important to provide an objective introduction based on all available information, including varied customer experiences. While many clients express profound gratitude for the clinic's long-standing care and compassion, particularly during end-of-life situations, one review raises significant concerns regarding inconsistencies in service quality and pricing, specifically related to boarding services and medication protocols. This client reported issues with scheduling and, more critically, a severe over-medication of their dog for separation anxiety during a boarding stay. This incident led to significant distress for the pet and concern for the owner. Such feedback suggests that while the clinic aims for high standards, individual experiences can vary, and vigilance regarding specific care plans, especially for pets with special needs like separation anxiety, may be warranted by owners.
In terms of promotional information, Countryside Veterinary Clinic strives to make veterinary care accessible. They accept pet insurance, which can help offset unexpected costs for accidents and illnesses. Furthermore, they work with treatment financing solutions like CareCredit and Scratchpay, offering payment plans that allow clients to manage the cost of larger veterinary expenses over time. These financial options are a valuable feature, assisting pet owners in providing necessary care without undue financial burden. While direct promotional campaigns like discounts might not be explicitly detailed in the provided information, their commitment to offering various payment solutions serves as a significant benefit to their clientele. For detailed inquiries about services, appointments, or payment options, prospective and current clients are encouraged to contact Countryside Veterinary Clinic directly via phone at (315) 493-7387 or mobile at +1 315-493-7387. The clinic's stated mission to provide "optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years" underscores their dedication to long-term pet health and owner satisfaction.

Mar 26, 2025 路 Asuna KirigayaI have boarded my boy here, for several years. In the last year, their quality of service has gone down and their price has gone up. The last visit, they screwed up the dates for his stay, even though confirmed in writing and on phone 1 month prior. But worst of all is they severely over medicated my boy. He has separation anxiety. His normal dose is 1 pill in morning and 1 at night, if needed. They admitted they were giving him between 6-8 pills, A DAY. It took 24 hours for him to even show any sign of life. I waited 2 days before writing this because I was so angry. But in the end, I feel I need to warn people to reconsider before trusting their baby鈥檚 care with these folks.
May 07, 2025 路 Melissa AndrewsFrom the very first visit, being accommodated so last minute for Miss Peanut, I knew this clinic was full of the very best people. My poor sweet girl was malnourished from her previous home, and they gave me the tools to get her up to snuff! 3 weeks later, Miss Peanut is caught up to her brother, Zeus and both are happy and healthy! Having such sweet and competent Techs and Vets makes all the difference. I can't thank everyone enough for everything, I'm so glad to have found y'all!! I highly recommend bringing your fur babies to these guys, I've never felt so welcome in a veterinary clinic the way we do here. Edit: we brought in Miss Peanut for a spay surgery appointment, which was a very emotional time, especially since all that we'd been through with her. I was treated respectfully and given a moment to recoup before signing papers and such. I took the offer up on calling to check in on my girl, and not once did I feel like it was bothering anyone to go and see how she was doing. I was even sent a picture of my baby after her surgery! I'm so thankful for finding y'all in our time of need with my fur babies, and I am excited to continue care with y'all forever. I'll never let another vet clinic look at Zeus or Peanut, there is absolutely no way I could trust another clinic the way that I trust this one. I attached some photos of my little loves, including the photo of peanut that was sent by the clinic after her surgery. Thank you again for the wonderful care y'all have given to Zeus and Peanut! You're the best!
Jan 07, 2023 路 Trinity PlateMy mom recently had to bring her tea cup Chihuahua in urgently. My mom fell completely in love with this pup over the past few months and Lila sadly fell ill sometime after thanksgiving. My mom went to several places in our town trying to find help! Emma was the only one to not only come to Lila鈥檚 rescue but she鈥檚 been helping her day in and out save her life! She truly went above and beyond and was very honest with my mom about the possible outcomes. I鈥檓 so grateful she was able to find this clinic and Emma!
Dec 09, 2024 路 Pennyanne StricklandThe people here are fantastic!! I HIGHLY recommend them, and that's coming from a very picky dog/cat mom. When my 16 yr old cat is suddenly deciding he doesn't want to eat and being very picky, they managed to work him in later THAT day with very limited staff. Dr. Kenyon is so nice and very attentive and answered my questions and called me back when needed for follow up. They go above and beyond and I look forward to continuing my babies care with them.
