From the moment I walked in I was warmly welcomed and attended to immediately. Dr. Butler and team were outstanding. Every question I had was addressed and answered. She took the time to examine my pet gently and explained what she was doing as she went along. When checking out, the front desk group were Quick and courteous. Would not go anywhere else.

This review is long overdue, but I feel it's important to share the context. Back in April 2023, while co-parenting our 13-year-old chihuahua, Chica, with my parents, I noticed some concerning changes in her health. She struggled to stand in the car, frequently tipped over, was reluctant to walk, and her skin became flaky. Additionally, she started drinking more water and urinating excessively. We took her to her primary vet, who suspected Cushing's disease and found a small heart murmur. Tests confirmed it was Cushing's, and we began treating her with 5mg of Trilostane. Unfortunately, she started losing weight rapidly over the next couple of weeks. Given my positive experience with Blue Pearl for my pitty mix’s autoimmune condition, I decided to take Chica there, as recommended by her primary vet, for additional insight. Blue Pearl diagnosed her with diabetes and advised stopping the Cushing’s treatment to focus on managing the diabetes. Chica started on 0.5 units of insulin twice daily, but her glucose levels remained stubbornly high despite increasing the dosage. One alarming day, Chica became feverish, disoriented, and stopped eating. In a panic, we rushed her to Blue Pearl's emergency services. Her glucose level was dangerously high at 720, and despite various tests, they couldn't determine the cause. I insisted on checking her blood pressure, which was elevated as well. They recommended an overnight stay to expedite her care, but after spending $2,000, we were still left without answers. Feeling hopeless, I knew there had to be a solution. A few days later, my boyfriend called to say Chica was in pain. When he contacted Blue Pearl, they suggested another ER visit. Frustrated after spending so much without resolution, he found City Vet on Bulverde, who could see her within hours. Dr. Butler at City Vet provided an immediate treatment plan. Unable to afford overnight care, we followed her advice and increased the insulin dose to 3.5 units. A few days later, Dr. Butler consulted with Dr. Patin, who took over her case. Despite our skepticism from past experiences, we felt a wave of relief. Dr. Patin conducted thorough diagnostics, confirming no issues beyond Cushing's. He resumed her Cushing’s medication to help manage stress, stopped the blood pressure meds, and increased insulin to 4.5 units. With regular communication and check-ups, her glucose levels started to stabilize within a week, achieving consistency after about three weeks. Due to the four months we spent getting nowhere with Blue Pearl, Chica lost her vision from prolonged high glucose levels, but she is now thriving. It’s a joy to see her personality shine again, and it warms my heart to know she’s finally in safe hands. Finding Country Hills Vet felt like destiny. The cozy atmosphere and the warm, welcoming staff—especially Sydney and Lyric—make every visit truly special. The team's genuine kindness and dedication have made them feel like family. Chica loves visiting Matthew every two weeks for her glucometer change. We’re incredibly grateful for this compassionate and dedicated team. 💕 Without all of you, we don’t know if Chica would be alive today, and for that, we are forever thankful. ❤️

Dear Country Hills Vet Clinic, I want to say a big thank you for the wonderful care my cat, Simba, received the last couple of weeks in your clinic. Despite being seen by 2 other vet clinics, it wasn’t until he was treated at Country Hills that he recovered from his illness. I was truly touched by the compassion and understanding shown to me and Simba by your wonderful staff. It was an unpleasant experience dealing with his illness prior to bringing him to Country Hills. I was out of the country while Simba was being treated, but I had full confidence in the care he was receiving at Country Hills and was able to enjoy my trip knowing that Simba was in the best possible hands. Absolutely love this vet! They helped me out when the situation was definitely less than favorable. Took amazing care of my boy and I felt the love & compassion for both of us! Thankfully he’s home now but I have no idea how I’d have made it through without their support and love! Thank you a million!
