Country critters is a phenomenal vet service. They answered all my questions about financials and the surgery, and the staff genuinely cares about the patients. I didn't feel like we were just a number. They even called to check up on my little biscuit the day after her surgery, it was very kind and I'm very glad that we have found a vet service that treats their patients like family.

We have taken 2 pets to Country Critters. The first was our cat with a tumor in his eye, the staff went above and beyond to find any solution. It was a terminal case in the end, however the staff gave us multiple options, long term and short term solutions. They did absolutely everything they could with kindness, care and compassion. All while being mindful and open about cost, offering different options with realistic pricing. The second was our new pup, at a year old he's have trouble with his tummy. They worked us in for an emergency visit, again showing so much compassion. My pup was shy and nervous which is out of character for him. The Doctor and her assistant were soft and patient with him every step of the way. Again offering solutions, giving long term and short term goals. All while being financially open and honest of long term cost. I would recommend Country Critters to anyone with a sick or healthy pet. If you are looking for a Vet and Staff that genuinely care for your baby as much as you do. Look no further.

I would give this clinic 10 stars if I could, we’ve been to a few vets in our 3 years of pet parent life and Country Critters takes the cake. The staff goes above and beyond to show they truly care, take the time to explain things and makes sure all questions are answered. Top notch vet care for your furry family members!

I have taken my pets to country critters in daleville for over a decade and was extremely satisfied. My 9 year old golden retriever Sunday Rose stepped in a hole and hurt her foot. I took her to the vet on Friday 3/29/2024, and she was seen by David Eddleman DVM. She was taken to the back room to weigh her. No X-rays were taken. No bloodwork was done. Sunday Rose was returned to the the exam room. Eddleman followed shortly thereafter and informed me that Sunday Rose had osteoarthritis in her foot. David Eddleman DVM informed me that there was a new once-a-month shot that had no side effects - Librela from Zoetis. He stated that his dog was on it and was able to stop other pain medication. We chatted some more about the upcoming solar eclipse and his church. I mentioned that I previously had another dog on Rimadyl for arthritis. His daughter Allison gave me a quote for Rimadyl versus Librela, making the point that it was around the same cost. David Eddleman stated that he knew I would let him know how Sunday Rose did by Monday. He also mentioned that we would know if it worked after the second shot. Sunday Rose seemed to walk a little better in the first few days, but the results were not spectacular. I had to help her stand occasionally and she seemed more lame in her hind legs. She was also drinking excessively and having to urinate more frequently. I took her in for the second shot on Wednesday 4/24/2024. I mentioned to Sarah Weaver RVT that I did not think the Librela had helped Sunday Rose very much. She stated that Librela works after the second shot. A couple of days after the second shot, Sunday Rose developed a cough, started belching and panting heavily. I took Sunday Rose back to Country Critters on 4/30/2024. She was seen by Wendy Stoots DVM, a veterinarian whom we had never seen before and who was not listed as a regular staff member. X-rays were taken of her chest and bloodwork was taken. Stoots stated that Sunday Rose’s heart was not enlarged, but there was line above her heart. She mentioned that it could be cancer. She also mentioned surgery and stated that “if we had an ultrasound machine.” She suggested that we send the X-rays to a specialist for review, which we did. Stoots prescribed an antibiotic and carprofen (generic Rimadyl). She called me later that day to tell me that the specialist was not concerned about the line above Sunday Rose’s heart, but he saw “an acute injury to the lower lobe.” Stoots admitted that she did not see that on the X-rays. I was informed that the specialist wanted to see a second set of X-rays in 48 hours. I took Sunday Rose back for the second set of X-rays on 5/2/2024. Sarah Weaver RVT called me later that day to inform me that the specialist stated there was improvement. She also stated that the vet said the “bloodwork didn’t look too exciting.” Through the years Country Critters had always called me to ask how my pets were doing after various injuries and vaccinations, but not this time. After reading the Librela pamphlet, including side effects that David Eddleman DVM said did not exist, I believed that Sunday Rose had a bad reaction to the shots. I believed she would recover once the Librela had left her system. She was still needing assistance to rise to her feet. She would frequently fall and had hind end weakness. I should have taken her to a more professional veterinary hospital, but I had trusted Country Critters for over a decade. My sweet Sunday Rose died on 5/25/2024. I will never know what caused Sunday Rose’s death. A necropsy (animal autopsy) can cost thousands of dollars and would not ease the pain of her death. I do know that I trusted the wrong people.
