I’ve been Using Island Animal Hospital since 1974 under Dr. Sisserson, DVM! He Retired in 2015 & Island Animal Hospital was Purchased by Dr. Coris, DVM. I was initially Pleased with this Veterinarian’s Services. I began taking My Service Dog (My Rottweiler & My Daughter)! I’ve been Training & Working with Rottweilers For At Least 27 Years so, even though I’m Not A Veterinarian, I Believe That I Have A Great Deal Of Knowledge About This Breed Of Dog! In June, 22, I brought My Rottweiler (& Service Dog) To Island Animal Hospital Because She Had A Cough Like She Was Trying To Get A Hairball Out Of Her throat! She Was Exposed To A Puppy Mill Puppy Who Had Kennel Cough! Dr. Coris Confirmed That She Did Indeed Have Kennel Cough! My Rottweiler Also Has Had A Yeast Infection In Her Ears (as Did My Other 2 Rottweilers) For At Least A Year! My Other Two Rottweilers Had Yeast Infections But I Have Always Had Their Ears Flushed; Their Teeth Cleaned; & Their Nails Filed Down (this Is Absolutely Necessary Due To The Fact That The Quick Inside The Nails Of Rottweilers Grow Very Fast) & I Wanted To Avoid Her Nails Bleeding From The Clipping Or Filing The Nails!! Since My Rottweiler Was 8 Weeks Old I’ve Been Asking For The Sedated Procedure Described Above! I Have Been Refused Each Time! As I Stated Earlier, Dr. Coris Was Very Complimentary Of My Care Of My Rottweiler, & Due To Her Having Kennel Cough I Asked Him If My Rottweiler Should Have The Vaccine For Kennel Cough 12/09/22? He Said That She Did NOT Need This Vaccine Because She Had Kennel Cough Which Gave Her The Best Antibodies To Keep Her From Getting Kennel Cough Again! When I Saw Dr. Coris on 12/09/22 He Was Agitated That My Rottweiler Still Had A Yeast Infection! His Demeanor Had Changed Drastically From Being Supportive To Turning Into A Subjective VETERINARIAN To A Completely Disrespectful, Rude, Arrogant Person Who I Did NOT Even Recognize! He Spoke To Me Like A 4 Year Old, Insinuating That My Rottweiler Had NOT Been Cared For Properly By Me!?! He Actually Turned His Back To Me And Proceeded To Throw What I Can Only Describe As A “TEMPER TANTRUM”! He Was Also Angry About Her Nails And That He Had Tried Not To Hurt Her But He Said That 3 Of Her Nails Had Bled! As Dr. Coris Was Telling Me About This He, Again, Was Disrespectful And Insinuating That Her Nails Bleeding Was My Fault! Just 90 Days Earlier, Dr. Coris Said (& I Had My Roommate With Me Every Time) That My Rottweiler Did NOT Need The Vaccine For Kennel Cough, But During The December Annual Vaccinations Dr. Coris Told The Vet Technician To Give My Dog The Vaccine (Which Costs Nearly $200.00 Dollars)!?! So, Dr. Coris Had Lied About Her NOT REQUIRING THE VACCINE FOR KENNEL COUGH, 90 Days Before Her Annual Vaccinations, Or He Was Lying On 12/09/22 & Gave Her The Vaccine Just Out Of Some Kind Of Spite Or Punitive Punishment Towards Me! Now, Since I Asked About Changing Veterinarians I Received An Email From Dr. Coris Stating That He Would Continue Being My Rottweiler’s Veterinarian, & He Had The Unmitigated Gall To “RECOMMEND THAT MY ROTTWEILER HAD HER EARS FLUSHED, Teeth Cleaned, & Her Nails Clipped”??!? Not To Mention That I Have Already Spent Nearly $2,000 For The Last 6-7 Months, And I Pleaded With Dr. Coris To Give My Rottweiler The Ear Flush Treatment, etc. In His Email That I Received Today, Dr. Coris Wants ME TO PAY HIM ANOTHER $608.00 DOLLARS?!? I Feel Like I’ve Been Treated Extremely Poorly & I Find Dr. Coris To Be Extremely Unprofessional & Spiteful! I’ve Asked Repeatedly For Diamond (Coris’ Vet Tech) To Contact Me For Advice! I Am Still Waiting…

Welcome to Coris M w DVM

Welcome to the introduction of Coris M w DVM, a pet hospital located at 105 McLeod St, Merritt Island, FL 32953, USA. As a dedicated pet hospital, Coris M w DVM aims to provide essential veterinary care services to the local community. You can reach them at (321) 453-2430 or via mobile at +1 321-453-2430.

Coris M w DVM, formerly known as Island Animal Hospital under Dr. Sisserson, DVM (who retired in 2015), was purchased by Dr. Coris, DVM. The transition marked a new chapter for the established pet hospital, continuing to serve the pet owners of Merritt Island and surrounding areas.

As a pet hospital, Coris M w DVM falls under the broader category of veterinary care providers. These establishments are crucial for maintaining the health and well-being of our animal companions. They offer a variety of services ranging from routine check-ups and vaccinations to more complex medical treatments and surgical procedures. Pet hospitals often act as a central hub for pet owners seeking professional medical advice and care for their animals.

Based on the information available, it's important to consider the experiences shared by pet owners who have utilized the services of Coris M w DVM. One detailed review provides insights into the care received, particularly concerning a Rottweiler service dog. This customer, who had been with Island Animal Hospital since 1974, initially expressed satisfaction with Dr. Coris's services. However, the review highlights several areas of concern that prospective clients may want to consider.

The review mentions an instance where the Rottweiler was diagnosed with kennel cough. While the diagnosis itself was straightforward, a point of contention arose regarding the necessity of a kennel cough vaccine. According to the reviewer, Dr. Coris initially stated that the dog did not need the vaccine due to having already contracted the illness and developed natural antibodies. However, approximately 90 days later, during the annual vaccinations, the vaccine was administered to the dog, incurring an additional cost.

Another significant issue raised in the review pertains to the treatment of a persistent yeast infection in the dog's ears. The reviewer claims to have repeatedly requested an ear flush treatment, along with teeth cleaning and nail filing (a procedure deemed necessary for Rottweilers due to their fast-growing nails), but these requests were allegedly refused. The reviewer expressed concern about the potential for nail bleeding during clipping or filing without sedation, a procedure they had requested since the dog was a puppy but had been consistently denied.

The customer also describes a perceived negative shift in Dr. Coris's demeanor. Initially supportive, Dr. Coris allegedly became disrespectful and insinuated that the Rottweiler was not being properly cared for. The review recounts an instance of what the customer described as a "temper tantrum" and accusations that nail bleeding was the owner's fault.

Furthermore, the reviewer mentions spending nearly $2,000 over a 6-7 month period and the subsequent receipt of an email from Dr. Coris recommending the very treatments (ear flush, teeth cleaning, nail clipping) that were allegedly previously denied, along with a request for an additional $608.00.

This detailed account suggests a potential inconsistency in treatment recommendations and communication issues. While this is a single customer's experience, it is crucial to acknowledge this feedback as part of a comprehensive understanding of Coris M w DVM. It is important to note that online reviews can be subjective and may not always represent the entirety of the services provided or the experiences of all pet owners.

For local users in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, considering veterinary care options for their pets, the information about Coris M w DVM in Merritt Island, Florida, USA, might not be directly applicable for immediate pet care needs. However, understanding the dynamics of pet hospitals and the importance of clear communication and consistent care is universally relevant. When choosing a local pet hospital in Bengaluru, pet owners should look for facilities that prioritize:

  • A clean and comfortable environment for pets.
  • A comprehensive range of services, including preventative care, diagnostics, and treatment options.
  • Experienced and compassionate veterinary professionals.
  • Clear and transparent communication regarding treatment plans and costs.
  • A focus on the individual needs of each pet.

When researching pet hospitals in Bengaluru, it would be beneficial to look for online reviews and testimonials from local pet owners. These can provide valuable insights into the experiences of other customers. Additionally, visiting the facilities in person can help assess the environment and allow for direct interaction with the staff.

While we do not have specific details about the environment, services, features, or promotional information of Coris M w DVM beyond what can be inferred from the review, the account emphasizes the importance of trust and open communication between pet owners and their veterinarians. It highlights the potential impact of perceived inconsistencies in care and unprofessional conduct on the client-veterinarian relationship.

Prospective clients of Coris M w DVM may want to consider the feedback provided in the review alongside other available information. It could be beneficial to inquire about the hospital's policies on treatment plans, communication protocols, and how they address client concerns. A direct conversation with Dr. Coris or other staff members might provide further clarity and help potential clients make an informed decision about their pet's care.

In conclusion, Coris M w DVM in Merritt Island, FL, is a pet hospital with a history dating back to 1974. The transition to new ownership under Dr. Coris in 2015 marked a change for the facility. While one detailed customer review raises significant concerns regarding communication, consistency of treatment recommendations, and professional conduct, it is essential to consider this as one individual experience. Local users in Bengaluru seeking pet care should focus on researching and evaluating veterinary hospitals within their vicinity, prioritizing factors such as service range, environment, staff professionalism, and clear communication.
