Companion Animal Specialty and Emergency

I wanted to thank the entire staff at companion animal Hospital in Crystal Lake they helped me through a very difficult time having to put my sweet baby girl down. They were very compassionate and let me ramble on about things that they didn’t have to do with my Samantha . It helped me a lot. I really appreciate it. The staff and cardiologist here are THE VERY BEST!! My 16yr old Bichon keeps having cardiac episodes and I have to "restart" her. Dr Harrington and the staff here have answers, great information and a plan to help prevent more episodes going forward. Everyone is super nice and knowledgeable and they explain things in medical terms but also fully explain what it means without being condescending. I highly recommend bringing your pet here for the greatest care available!!!

we just got through saying goodbye to our little “disproportionate cat” excellent care. excellent and obvious compassion. rapid diagnosis and able to set very real expectations/outcomes. we are at peace with what we decided, and our family will never forget the staff who were so kind. - i work in hospice. i wish every soul could be treated with the dignity you gave our Trick. I'm super unimpressed by this place; I called to make an appointment for my dog and was told that the vet I needed to see was out, but they thought he'd be back -- maybe. I made an appointment, and I waited. They require a $250 down payment, which they post immediately, by the way. Last week, they called to tell me that the vet isn't coming in because of some family emergency, so I lost a week in which I could have sought care for my dog. Over a week later, they still haven't refunded my $250. When I called, they told me that only a manager can issue refunds, and that person is out. See a pattern here? This time, I got told that the vet I needed had an accident, so it's a different story every time; my dog still hasn't gotten care, and I haven't gotten my money back. This may be a great vet, and I won't rule out taking my dogs there if I absolutely had to. That's the thing, though: I'll ONLY go here if I absolutely have to. The business practices are sketchy at best, and I'm about to open a complaint with my credit card company for the money that they deducted and have not returned. Based on the way this has been handled, I don't see myself using them if there's any other choice.

Our cat was rushed in after going into shock from having a bad reaction. She was in critical condition but the doctors literally saved her life. She also had underlying issues that the doctors treated, and now my 15 year old cat seems very energetic and happy. After spending 2 days at this hospital, she came out acting better than she’s been in months. I want to thank Dr. Hochman and Dr. Miller for doing such a good job. They took such great care of our cat and they were very professional, well spoken, and down to earth when speaking with us. The techs also took great care of her day and night as well. The first two pictures are of our cat while she was there, and the third picture is her once she came home. Great job and thank you!
