Companion Animal has been the best thing to happen to my elderly cat. When my previous vet office closed due to retirement, I was nervous about moving my 19 year old cat (Sal) to new care. She had already been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and kidney disease and we were juggling multiple medications to keep her going. However she needed a new vet and Companion Animal is close by my new place. I was nervous taking my not-very-friendly-to-strangers cat to Companion Animal, however Sal liked the staff from the get go. They were able to get bloodwork from her without all the usual drama and Sal liked our new vet Dr. Kung. I also liked Dr Kung as she patiently took time to walk through Sal's history with me and to plan ahead for any warning signs of one of the diseases progressing further. About a year after our initial visit, my cat Sal got very sick. It happened over a weekend, so on Sunday I ended up taking her to the ER, where we had an awful experience. She had to stay overnight at the ER on an IV at an eye watering cost. The ER requested that she stay for 2 more days, but my husband and I agreed we couldn't pay the thousands of dollars more the ER was requested for care. As a hail mary we asked the ER to call Companion Animal to see if they could take Sal in for the day as they provide cat medical boarding. Considering we were newish patients and our vet was out on vacation for the week, we weren't holding out hope. To our surprise, Companion Animal agreed to take Sal in for the day. We bundled our very sick fur baby up and drove her over from the ER for an additional day of IV fluids. She was still so sick when we dropped her off, that we didn't have much hope of her making a comeback. We dropped Sal off with Anna, one of the head technicians, for the day and said a prayer. When we picked her up Monday evening the change in Sal was so apparent. She was back to her inquisitive self and alert. Not only was Sal fluids looking better, but Anna even got Sal to eat some food - Anna sacrificed a chicken taco from her lunch to Sal! Over the next 6 months Companion Animal did an incredible job working with us as we administered hospice care to Sal. From Dr. Kung, Dr. Moser, Anna and the rest of the amazing staff - we felt supported and cared for every step of the way. We would pick Sal up from visits to find our notoriously standoff-ish cat snuggling with Anna or some of the other staff members. Once Sal jumped on Anna's shoulders and had a little tour of the facility from the high view point :) When Sal finally burned through all of her 9 lives, Companion Animal connected us with an at-home euthanasia provider (Lap of Love) who did an incredible job during the final moments. Sal had a rewarding last 6 months of her life and in the end a very peaceful passing. I don't know how we got so lucky as to find the incredible staff at Companion Animal! I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. I know I'll be back in time when I adopt another pet.

This is one of the most patient, compassionate, and thorough teams of veterinarian professionals I’ve ever encountered. Truly! I am so thankful for the care each and every one of their staff has provided for our furry babies. Our cats are especially finicky and alarmed by even the slightest change to their environment. Past vet visits have been pretty traumatizing for them—all of us! But when I drop them off to a friendly face and they come home happy and leaping around with detailed aftercare instructions keeping them so? I couldn’t ask for more peace of mind. Thanks for your amazing service and care Companion Animal Hospital Team!

I was taking my chronically ill dog to Uptown goodvets but needed to find care closer to home. I made a 1st appt. with Companion to have the vet do a check up in order to be able to obtain the prescriptions my dog needs to stay alive. The vet immediately wanted us to do thousands of dollars worth of labs even though my dog just had labs done this year, the vet was very pushy to get ultrasounds, fecal tests and bloodwork again. When we stated we were open for more labs later on in the year she then refused to give us prescriptions. We paid $230 for an initial vet visit in order to get the prescriptions and they seem to care more about profits than my dogs needs.

While this team takes good care of your pet and are very helpful, the pricing here has gotten very high and difficult to justify. Even compared to three years ago, we received bill estimates the night before a procedure that were significantly higher than before. They do a great job, but certainly at a great cost. Even the recommended meds or supplements are 3x the normal price. In emergency situations, they are there to assist you on the phone and explain what might be happening which we found very helpful!

My pups Potato and Goober had an incredible visit at Companion Animal Hospital. They were even given some very handsome bandanas to rock. Treated with such care, compassion and love — the best vet we’ve gone to BY FAR. We also took our cat Dulce to Companion for palliative care and they helped her cross the rainbow bridge — the most compassionate way I could’ve ever imagined saying goodbye to a beloved family member. I’ll never take my pets anywhere else.
