Our two girls, Evee & Nala have been patients of this wonderful Center for years now. Every single call, email, interaction with all the staff has always been nothing short of amazing. I want to recognize, give praise and kudos to the person who hired and trained each individual person working there because the level of professionalism, enthusiasm for my girls care, and love of healing and helping my girls is just amazing. Their prices are economical, they’re great at breaking down the services and explaining what could be delayed or moved to another appointment etc. The location and parking is nice. Even when it looks like a full house, I’ve never had difficulty finding a place to park. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment. “Go where you’re surrounded by those who only want the best for you and yours” is a mantra my husband and I live by and you definitely will feel it here. Beautiful caring people work here and it’ll show in the care they provide your animal family members♥️

Welcome to Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center

Welcome to Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center, a dedicated pet hospital located at 320 E 2nd Ave, Escondido, CA 92025, USA. Serving the local community and beyond, this center operates under the platform category of a comprehensive Pet Hospital, providing a wide range of services and potentially offering related goods to ensure the health and well-being of your cherished animal companions. You can reach them at (760) 743-2751 or their mobile number +1 760-743-2751.

Based on available information, including feedback from pet owners, Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center appears to foster a supportive and caring environment. Several reviewers highlight the exceptional professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff. One long-term customer with two pets, Evee & Nala, consistently praises the amazing interactions with every staff member, from phone calls and emails to in-person visits. This positive feedback suggests a team that is not only well-trained but also genuinely invested in the care and healing of their animal patients. The reviewer specifically commends the hiring and training process, indicating a strong emphasis on building a compassionate and skilled team.

Furthermore, the center is noted for its transparent and economical pricing. They are reportedly adept at explaining the costs of different services and helping pet owners understand which treatments might be time-sensitive and which could be deferred. This open communication regarding financial aspects can help build trust and ensure that pet owners feel informed and in control of their pet's care plan.

Practical aspects such as location and parking are also mentioned positively. Even during busy periods, clients have reportedly found parking convenient, which can significantly reduce stress when bringing a pet in for an appointment or emergency.

The overall sentiment from some customers portrays Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center as an establishment where pets are truly cared for by individuals who prioritize their best interests. The phrase "Go where you’re surrounded by those who only want the best for you and yours" encapsulates the feeling of trust and confidence that some pet owners have experienced with this center.

However, it is crucial to present a balanced perspective by also considering less positive feedback. One concerning review details an experience involving a cat treated with Claro Otic, a medication reportedly intended for dogs. The reviewer states that despite being informed by Dr. Quiroz that this medication was used on cats without adverse reactions, their cat developed significant negative side effects shortly after administration, including an abnormal eye, a protruding third eyelid, and difficulty eating due to jaw issues. The local emergency veterinarian who treated the cat reportedly confirmed that Claro Otic is not meant for feline use and guided the treatment. The reviewer explicitly lists potential side effects of Claro Otic in cats, which they claim were not disclosed, including ear discharge, head shaking, ataxia, internal ear disorder, deafness, vomiting, nystagmus, pinnal irritation, ear pain, keratoconjunctivitis sicca, vocalization, corneal ulcer, cranial nerve disorder (facial paralysis), and tympanic membrane rupture. This experience raises serious concerns about the prescription and administration of medication and the potential lack of comprehensive disclosure regarding off-label drug use and associated risks.

Considering the available information, Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center appears to be a facility that, for many, provides a positive experience characterized by a caring staff, clear communication, and convenient services. The positive reviews highlight a team dedicated to animal welfare and client satisfaction. However, the critical review regarding the off-label use of medication and the subsequent adverse reaction in a cat warrants serious consideration. It underscores the importance of thorough communication between veterinarians and pet owners regarding treatment options, potential risks, and the suitability of medications for specific animal species.

As a Pet Hospital, Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center likely offers a range of services that typically include routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostics (such as blood work and imaging), surgical procedures, dental care, and potentially specialized services like rehabilitation. The name itself suggests a focus on both general health and rehabilitation, which could include therapies for pets recovering from surgery, injury, or those with chronic conditions affecting mobility. The "Center" designation often implies a facility equipped to handle more complex cases and offer a broader scope of services than a basic veterinary clinic.

To provide a comprehensive introduction for local users, it would be beneficial to have more specific details about the environment of the clinic (e.g., cleanliness, comfort for pets and owners), the full range of services offered (e.g., specific types of surgery, imaging capabilities, rehabilitation modalities), the qualifications and specializations of the veterinary staff, and any unique features that set them apart. Promotional information, if available publicly, such as introductory offers for new clients or specific wellness packages, would also be relevant for local users.

Based on the positive feedback, potential features of Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center could include a welcoming and clean environment, a knowledgeable and compassionate team, clear and transparent communication regarding treatment plans and costs, convenient parking, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of animal patients. The mention of rehabilitation in their name suggests they may have specialized equipment and expertise in this area, which could be a significant benefit for pets needing post-operative care or management of musculoskeletal conditions.

However, the negative review serves as a critical reminder for pet owners to actively engage in discussions about their pet's treatment, including the medications being prescribed, their intended use, potential side effects, and alternative options. It highlights the importance of seeking complete information and potentially seeking a second opinion if there are any concerns.

In conclusion, Companion Animal Health & Rehabilitation Center in Escondido presents itself as a Pet Hospital with a dedicated and caring staff, appreciated by many for their professionalism, communication, and economical pricing. Their focus on both health and rehabilitation suggests a comprehensive approach to animal care. However, the reported incident involving the off-label use of medication and subsequent adverse reaction underscores the need for thorough transparency and informed consent in veterinary practice. Local users considering this center should weigh the positive feedback against the serious concerns raised in the negative review and engage in open communication with the veterinary team regarding their pet's specific needs and treatment plans.

I am so sad. I was recommended this office by my previous veterinarian, so I made an appointment for my cat. I work full time so I sent my husband to bring my cat to see Dr. Quiroz. One of my cat's issues I wanted looked at was her ear scratching. Apparently my cat has a mild yeast infection, and was offered two options: ear drops for cats that we'd need to administer for a month, or a one-time administration of Claro Otic. Dr. Quiroz informed my husband (and myself once I saw the receipt and was freaked out that non-cat safe medication was used) that this medication was intended for dogs, but stated that she uses it on cats all the time and has not seen any adverse reactions. Unfortunately, Dr. Quiroz had just been extremely lucky up until this point, because as soon as they got home I could see something was wrong. My cat's right eye was abnormal and her third eyelid was showing. I intended on returning to Companion Animal Health immediately but it was 25 mins away with traffic, so I opted to bring her to a closer vet. The vet there was able to get ahold of the company who makes Claro Otic and they confirmed that it is not meant for cats, and walked the vet through how to treat my cat. As I write this my cat's eye is still not back to normal and she is unable to eat properly, even though she has an appetite. She wants to eat but cannot figure out how to use her jaw as normal. If the vet would have informed us that the potential side effects for Claro Otic in cats include ear discharge, head shaking, ataxia, internal ear disorder (head tilt and vestibular), deafness, emesis, nystagmus, pinnal irritation and ear pain, keratoconjunctivitis sicca, vocalization, corneal ulcer, cranial nerve disorder (facial paralysis), tympanic membrane rupture - of course we would have opted for the 30 day treatment instead of this "quick fix" that sounded like a perfectly safe option. Please do not continue advocating for use of this medication in cats!!!! It's not worth the risk. I just want my baby to be as healthy as she was before she was brought there.

Had a great experience here today! I’ve been looking for a new vet since I moved to Escondido, and every person at companion made me and my dog feel comfortable. Glad to call them my dog’s new regular vet!

Wish I found this place sooner! My 1 year puppy was having issues with her leg/knee for a few months. Limping, couldn't walk, crying/whining. I went to my primary vet first, but they couldn't figure out the issue fast enough so I came to Companion as a second opinion. They figured it out really quickly. Turns out she needed MPL surgery for her knee. My primary vet eventually let us know what the issue was, but by that time I had made the decision to make Companion my primary. Every minute counts when it comes to your pup. Anyway, they took the time to examine my dog and come up with a plan. 8 weeks ago she had her MPL surgery and she has been healing very well. We all love our animals so much, they deserve the best care. I learned more from Companion about my dogs issue than any other vet I have gone to, so I did appreciate their patience with me and not pressure me into anything. Thank you guys. Penny is healing like a champ and can walk again.
