We moved to Missouri on 8/25/23. Our 3 year old dog got sick on 8/30/23. We needed to use the 24 hour services and were turned away, with our dog having trouble breathing, because she hadn't been seen at that clinic before. Mind you we drove over an hour to get there. They directed us to either Kansas City or St. Louis. Our dog passed away 45 minutes from Kansas City. We had used Companion services before, in another state but NEVER again. Emergency Services to a SELECT few.

Welcome to Companion Animal Clinic

Welcome to Companion Animal Clinic, a "Pet Hospital" located at 900 E Campus Dr, Columbia, MO 65211, USA. We aim to provide veterinary services to the Columbia, MO community. While the information available is limited, we can discuss the address and phone number provided, as well as relay the experiences shared by recent customers to offer a comprehensive, objective introduction based solely on the provided data.

Based on the reviews, it's challenging to accurately describe the environment of Companion Animal Clinic. However, the focus of the provided feedback is primarily on their emergency services protocols rather than the physical space itself. One review mentions needing to use the 24-hour services but being turned away because their dog had not been seen at that clinic before, despite driving over an hour to get there. Another customer recounts a similar experience with the emergency clinic not seeing their 13-year-old dog late at night because it was past a new patient cutoff time. These accounts suggest that while they may advertise or be perceived as having emergency services, there might be specific restrictions or protocols regarding new patients accessing these services outside of certain hours.

The primary service discussed in the available reviews is emergency care. However, the experiences shared raise questions about the accessibility of these services for new clients, particularly outside of regular hours or after a certain cutoff time. One customer who needed 24-hour emergency services for their breathing-impaired dog was directed to facilities in Kansas City or St. Louis after being turned away due to their dog not being a previous patient. Similarly, another pet owner seeking emergency care for their dog late at night was also redirected to St. Louis due to a new patient cutoff. These instances indicate that while Companion Animal Clinic may offer emergency services, there appear to be limitations based on whether the pet has been previously seen at the clinic. It is important for local users to be aware of these potential restrictions when considering Companion Animal Clinic for emergency veterinary needs.

A notable feature, based on the negative experiences shared, seems to be a policy regarding emergency services for new patients. According to the reviews, there were instances where pets in urgent need of care were turned away because they were not established patients of the clinic. This is highlighted in both reviews, where pet owners seeking emergency treatment for their acutely ill dogs were redirected to other cities. One review explicitly questions how a facility can call itself a 24/7 emergency services clinic with such restrictions. This policy regarding new emergency patients appears to be a significant aspect of their service delivery, at least according to these two critical accounts.

Currently, there is no information available in the provided text regarding any promotional offers from Companion Animal Clinic. The focus of the reviews is solely on the negative experiences encountered when attempting to access emergency services as new clients. Therefore, we cannot provide any details about discounts, special programs, or other promotional activities that the clinic might offer for its general services or established clientele.

For local users in Columbia, MO, Companion Animal Clinic is located at 900 E Campus Dr. The phone number is (573) 882-7821 or +1 573-882-7821. Based on recent customer feedback regarding emergency services, it is crucial to be aware of potential limitations for new patients seeking urgent care, particularly outside of regular hours. Two separate reviews describe being turned away from emergency services due to the pet not being a prior patient of the clinic, even in situations where the pet was in significant distress. One of these instances involved a pet owner driving over an hour to reach the clinic. If you are considering Companion Animal Clinic for your pet's emergency needs and your pet is not already a patient, it may be prudent to inquire about their specific protocols for new emergency cases beforehand. For routine veterinary care or for those whose pets are already established patients, these reviews may not be as directly applicable, but they do highlight a specific policy concerning emergency services for new clients.

Given the strong negative experiences shared regarding emergency care access for new patients, local users might want to consider these accounts when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care, especially for urgent situations. It is important to have a clear understanding of a clinic's emergency protocols, particularly if you are new to the area or your pet has not previously been seen there. While these reviews do not comment on the quality of care provided to established patients or the nature of their routine services, the difficulty encountered by new clients in accessing emergency services is a significant point to consider.

In conclusion, Companion Animal Clinic in Columbia, MO, can be reached at (573) 882-7821. While they may offer emergency services, recent feedback indicates potential restrictions for new patients attempting to access this care, with at least two instances of individuals being redirected to other facilities in distant cities. Local users should be aware of these experiences when considering this clinic for their pet's veterinary needs, especially in emergency situations. For further information about their services, environment, and policies, it is recommended to contact Companion Animal Clinic directly.

My 13yr old dog was having what I thought was a stroke at 1:30am. Emergency clinic would not see her because it was past the 10pm cutoff for new patients. They told me I had to go to St. Louis for care. How can they call themselves an Emergency Services Clinic open 24/7 and then put restrictions on who they will see. I hope I never have to use this clinic in the future.

Such a blessing they are open 24/7. They helped save my poor Kitty who got so sick on a Saturday night we were not sure she would make it tell Monday. Also where not rude or judgment about her not being up to date on her vaccines.

Came with great diagnostic hopes for my 11mnth old Retriever- came at 12:39 waited all day for no answers and repeat phone calls. A waste of my time and my poor dog that has no hopes or ideas. It we needed to schedule tests it should have been told in the beginning. I waited 6.5 hours Horrible.

Second time I've brought a pet here for an emergency situation, and the staff was polite, quick, and comforting.
