A few months ago I had an emergent and life threatening event with my dog. Could not get a vet to see him in York. Called Columbia Animal Hospital and Dr. Bartlett came to office, early, to see my baby. Dr. Bartlett proved to be a thorough, compassionate, and a very skilled practitioner. My boy required emergency surgery, received excellent care, and is doing fantastic now! The entire staff communicated clearly, thoroughly, and acted in the best interest of my dog and I. Dr. Bartlett is THE BEST! Highly recommend if looking for a skilled and knowledgeable veterinarian!

Dec 03, 2024 · Kim CahillDr. Bartlett and his staff are nothing short of amazing. I run a small rescue (Purr-fect Hearts Kitten Fosters). They see our rescue kittens/cats as well as our personal pets. Dr. Bartlett is not only super knowledgeable but also compassionate and cares about every client/patient he sees. He has helped us with many very serious cases including my personal 2 yr old that was paralyzed from front arms down. Quickly diagnosed and have the meds needed. My cat now runs and plays! He helped us with our miracle kitten (Cinder) and when we saved her there was complete joy in his eyes! We highly recommend this practice for all your pets medical needs. There aren't words to express how grateful, thankful and happy we are being clients in this practice!
Mar 03, 2025 · PHKFI’ve been going to this place for 4 years now. There was a few mistakes in this few years that I let slide on, like double microchip my dog, double vaccine, cutting my dogs while cutting the nails… stuff like that. But recently my dog was diagnose with hip dysplasia when a lot of things did not fully made sense with the diagnosis when I started to look for more info. Doctor prescribe shots to help with the hip two a week for a month and then one monthly! $600 later on just shots and with more info on the subject I took my dog for a second opinion. ACL not hips. Hips are perfect conditions. He took xrays without sedating the dog and this not the right position. He did jot confirmed diagnosis with a radiologist. Because of this an how hard was to get copies of the xrays and more I do not recommend this place. You might pay more in other places but it reflex the quality of care.
Feb 20, 2025 · Zulmarie AdornoDr. Bartlett wearing brand name clothes (four seasons golf shirt/gold chains) while his boat and cars sit out front of the office for sale for over a year as I was charged for unnecessary tests and my dog was given treatments without my consent (a few hundred $$) left a bad taste in my mouth, but I thought “it’s his money he can do what he wants with it, he’s a great vet!” Then, my boyfriend and I came in looking for a specific stray dog around town and they said they did not have him, but that they had another stray they wanted us to take— they said she had shown some aggression by biting a cage, and also said they did not think she was aggressive (they were not first party observers.) We ended up taking her home for the weekend because I trusted the professionals’ opinions and observations given that they see many dogs every single day, and she ended up biting my dog. We had fallen in love with her over the weekend and had no experience with dog aggression as our dog is very docile. We took her back to get some space and have time to think about whether or not she was a dog we could take on, despite what had happened. We asked (multiple times) that they let us know if they were planning to put her down so we could take her out and do all the things dogs should get to do on their last day before passing on. An employee allowed us to borrow their personal cage for her (which we were very grateful for) and texted me asking for it back after we dropped her off. I asked about her and he informed me via text that she had already been put down. I went down the following morning at 7:30 am and paid for a private cremation (several hundred $$) because I was appalled at the lack of care and consideration being given to this dog, and we felt she still deserved to have a forever home with us. We had changed her name and let them know about it, but when I went to pick up her ashes, the wrong name was listed on everything given to us. We were devastated by the incident, her being put down, the lack of communication, the lack of care, lack of support, and the fact I had to call and get the name fixed on items relating to her death!! I took my dog to be checked out since he had some damage to his snout and was having a harder time breathing. They did waive the office visit fee but acted like they were doing me a favor, then they were not on the same page about who my dog was and what happened (if that were me at any of my previous jobs, we all would have been debriefed and anticipating someone coming in that had a problem that big), then convinced me to buy $300 flea tick and heartworm medication. He won’t let you buy it through chewy, you have to buy it online through their portal which is also overpriced. I planned to return to my dog’s old vet after repeated visits following the incident (attempting to give an opportunity to do better) and asked for a copy of his records without letting them know the reason. I received a compilation list of things that had occurred and it was not the complete medical records. I took them with me to the new vet and their eyes popped out of their head at the amount I was being charged, they looked disgusted and talked about it with other employees. I have never left Columbia Animal Hospital without having spent at least $300 with no other serious medical issues. Over a year and a half after they put her down without letting us know, I received a checkup notification card for the dog who passed (with the WRONG name), but I have not gotten one in the mail for my other 2 dogs, ever! I called and explained that if my boyfriend ever came home and saw something like that with that dog’s name, he would absolutely lose it and they sounded empathetic, but how are you not keeping track of the dogs you put down OR the traumatizing incidents you played a part in? They will take your money, traumatize you, and tell you to say thank you for it. I would not go here unless it was a time sensitive emergency and I had absolutely 0 other options.
Jan 02, 2025 · Leah MastrineEveryone has taken AMAZING care of my kitty. He was also the first vet that didn't make me feel like it was my fault my cat was so thin. He told me to test her for food allergies, which she came up allergic to so many things. They also made sure I could have her home for the holidays. The care she received, the communication, and full disclosure of cost were clear and upfront. They were also about to get us in last min on several occasions. I'm very grateful for the staff and will continue to bring my cat here for care. 6/26/23 Still absolutely love bringing my cat here. They recently had the place renovated, and it is beautiful. Your animals will be in great care with Robert and his staff.
