I won’t ever take another pet here. They 100% only care about money. The female vet with the voice deeper than mine was smirking when she told me my dog had cancer and weeks to live. She also didn’t give me the confirmed lab results until 2 days after she received them. I asked why, and she said “I didn’t think you had the money to send her for chemotherapy”

As a seasoned "Pet Hospital," Clinton Veterinary Clinic Iowa offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services for dogs and cats, reflecting their dedication to preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment. Their services are designed to accommodate the specific needs of various breeds and individual pets. Key services typically include:
- Preventive Care and Wellness: This forms a cornerstone of their practice, aiming to keep pets healthy and prevent serious illnesses. It likely includes routine examinations, tailored vaccination protocols, parasite control programs (fleas, ticks, heartworm), and nutritional guidance.
- Modern Diagnostics: The clinic is equipped with modern diagnostic tools to accurately identify and understand pet health issues. This commonly encompasses in-house laboratory services (blood tests, urinalysis, fecal analysis), digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasonography, as Dr. Eslick has professional interests in this area.
- Medical Treatment: They provide outpatient and hospital care for pets suffering from various illnesses and injuries. This covers the diagnosis and management of internal medicine cases, infectious diseases, dermatological conditions, and chronic health issues.
- Surgical Procedures: Clinton Veterinary Clinic offers a range of surgical procedures. This includes common soft tissue surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as more specialized procedures. Dr. Eslick's surgical interests specifically include treating simple fractures, ACL injuries, Hip Dysplasia, and general soft tissue surgery, indicating a strong surgical capability. Dr. Kemmerer also enjoys soft tissue surgery.
- Dental Care: While not explicitly listed in all public information, a comprehensive pet hospital typically provides dental services, including cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments, which are crucial for a pet's overall health.
- Accreditations and Travel Health Certificates: Notably, the clinic is licensed in Iowa and Illinois to issue official pet traveling health certificates for those traveling outside the United States. This is a valuable service for clients who plan to travel internationally with their pets.
- Patient Portal App: For enhanced client convenience, they offer a Patient Portal app that allows pet owners to easily view medical reminders, prescriptions, and upcoming appointments, streamlining communication and access to pet health information.

Dr. Kemmerer joined in 2015 and enjoys practicing preventative medicine and the challenges of internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Aman, a veterinarian since 2007, now focuses on dog and cat care after prior experience as a mixed animal veterinarian, bringing a wealth of diverse knowledge to the clinic.
The feedback received for Clinton Veterinary Clinic Iowa presents a mixed, yet insightful, picture. On one hand, there is a strong contingent of highly positive reviews emphasizing excellent customer service and genuine care for pets. Clients consistently praise the vets and vet techs for their apparent love for animals, stating that they "care about my fur babies." Testimonials highlight the staff as "very empathetic and thoughtful," "fantastic," "wonderful," and "caring," with many clients expressing their long-term loyalty, having visited for "years" or even "more than 10 years." Specific praise for Dr. Kemmerer and Dr. Eslick underscores their professional competence and empathetic approach. The sentiment "Love love love them so much they are very caring and loving of my animals and work hard to help and give suggestions/advice whenever they can!" encapsulates the positive client experience.
However, there is a very critical review that contrasts sharply with the overwhelmingly positive feedback. This negative review alleges that the clinic "100% only care about money" and describes a profoundly distressing experience where a vet "was smirking when she told me my dog had cancer and weeks to live," followed by delayed communication of lab results due to an assumption about the owner's financial capacity for chemotherapy. This review points to a serious breakdown in communication, empathy, and professional conduct from one specific interaction, raising concerns about the clinic's prioritization of patient care versus financial considerations in that instance. This specific feedback is important for potential clients to consider, as it highlights an area where individual experiences can vary significantly.
While explicit promotional offers are not broadly advertised, the clinic's long-standing presence for over 60 years and the high volume of positive testimonials serve as strong indicators of their reputation and consistent quality of care. Their emphasis on preventative medicine and modern diagnostics suggests a proactive approach to pet health, which is a key selling point for pet owners. The clinic also actively engages with the community by serving clients from both Iowa and Illinois, indicating a broad reach and established trust within the region. They maintain a Facebook presence, which is a common way for modern veterinary practices to connect with clients, share information, and potentially announce news or promotions. The Patient Portal app is also a modern amenity that promotes convenience and accessibility, effectively promoting the clinic's commitment to streamlined service.
In summary, Clinton Veterinary Clinic Iowa, under the care of Drs. Eslick, Kemmerer, & Aman, positions itself as a long-standing and comprehensive "Pet Hospital" dedicated to the health and well-being of cats and dogs. They offer a wide range of veterinary services, from preventive care and advanced diagnostics to various surgical procedures, and even provide specialized services like international travel health certificates. While the majority of client feedback paints a picture of highly compassionate and competent care, one critical review highlights a potential area for concern regarding communication and financial transparency in sensitive situations. Overall, the clinic's established presence and numerous positive testimonials suggest it is a trusted provider of veterinary services for many pet owners in the Clinton, IA, area and beyond.

Jan 26, 2024 · Robert ForeWe have went to Vet Clinic for over 20 yrs and have never had a problem or complaint. They are caring and compassionate with any of our animals. Last week Dr Eslick did a C-section on our Frenchie. Several staff members were there to assist and it was a good thing they were. She had 10 healthy babies!! Dr Eslick was so caring with our girl and her babies. His staff kept us up to date on how things were going during the c-section. Im sure we will be going there another 20 yrs!!

Recently moved closer to the quad cities but I would still travel just to have her as my vet! My dog would agree!!
