My husband and I are new to the area and hadn’t found a vet yet. My childhood cat unfortunately grew ill and his health started to decline. I called Cliffdale Thursday and explained his situation. The woman on the phone, I can’t remember her name, was very kind and patient. They were able to get us in that day. Raja, my cat, was evaluated and yes euthanasia was his best option, as he was suffering. The staff gave us all the time we needed, explained everything in detail before doing it, broke down the cost when I asked, and overall showed us compassion. I couldn’t imagine going to a different vet, especially regarding this experience. The level and quality of care is unmatched. Thank you to the staff who was there with us. I appreciate everything. I would definitely recommend Cliffdale Animal Hospital.

I would give Dr. Chavis 5 stars for her friendly attitude and willingness to answer questions. Her staff is also courteous and the facility is clean and modern. I don't only have 4 stars overall because 1. They require a deposit before they will make a reservation and 2. They take your pet away from you for testing and you have to sit there and hear it make sounds of pain while you are not there to comfort it.

Dr. Chavis and her team have been amazing in treating my 13 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and incredibly accommodating to our needs! She was able to get my sweet girl the right medications and performed a dental and lumpectomy safely, something I was very worried about due to her older age. I recently moved cities with her and they have been just wonderful by calling in medications that she needed local to me when I hadn’t been able to get her started with a veterinary practice near my new home in time. I highly recommend Dr. Chavis and her friendly staff who knew us by name and treated us so kindly each time we came in! The groomer was also fantastic with Ryleigh. I will truly miss working with Cliffdale Animal Hospital and I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs to find an incredible veterinarian for their babies. I can’t thank them enough!!

I chose Dr. Chavis because I was looking for a compassionate person I could trust to walk me through the last years of my 15-year-old dog's life. I wanted someone who was understanding and kind. I liked Dr. Chavis a lot and I wish I could continue to go to her practice, but unfortunately, the business side of her practice has consistently communicated a lack of value for patients. Dr. Chavis prescribed my 15-year-old dog two on-going medications she is supposed to stay on for the rest of her life as long as the bloodwork looks good. I paid $400+ for bloodwork, yearly shots, and medication in the past two months. She said all looked good and I could get the medications she needed. I checked out and went home. Then discovered the techs gave me the wrong medication. I needed the liquid form of a medication vs. the pill form. I called them, and they said to come back and they would fix it. I came back, they took back the wrong medication, gave me the correct one, telling me they fixed it in the system. I ran out of the second med, so I came to pick it up a week or so later and was told I owed $80 for the medication I picked up the last time. I was confused because why would they swap it out without charging me for it? The tech said she could have another set of eyes look things over if I'd like. I said yes that would be good. She then rolled her eyes at me and stompped off. I spoke to the office manager and complained about the girl's attitude and eye roll when it was her idea for a second set of eyes in the first place. I questioned why I wasn't told of the price difference in the medications when I came previously and he said it "wasn't their job" to tell me... Okay, so then who's job is it? They are the ones at the front desk dealing with all of the financial information. I had to tell him three times that the girl rolled her eyes at me before he gave me a half-ass apology. So the next few weeks roll around and I just called back to get my dog's prescription refilled. I talked to the vet previously about how I was leaving for a month and would need some extra meds for my trip. She said that would be fine and I should be able to get 60 or 90 days worth. When I called I was told they didn't have enough pills in stock to give me what I needed and they didn't know when the next order would be coming in. I said, okay, well I'll take the 30 day supply then, and I'll skip a few doses to stretch it. The tech said, well, no, because that will wipe us clean of that medication. She then offered to give me a written prescription to take across town to get filled at a different pharmacy. I said okay and asked if she could email it. She said no she couldn't email it and that I had to pick it up. So, I drive the 25 minutes to their office to pick up the hand written prescription and the girl wants to charge me $15 for the handwritten prescription as a "paperwork fee since the dog wasn't seen here." Excuse me? I just spent $400 freaking dollars with you and your vet is the one that prescribed the on-going medication. What do you want bloodwork every single month? I left and called back asking the doctor to call me back and she hasn't done that yet. I don't expect a call. It is very clear to me that this practice has major business/financial issues and that they do not value their clients. They also do not work with Care Credit. Over the past month when my dog was extremely ill, I went to the ER and to vet that did work with Care Credit so that I could charge the $1500 I spent to give me time to submit my paperwork to my pet insurance and get reimbursed. When asked why they don't work with Care Credit, the vet said she didn't think it was good for her patients. That it costs them fees on their side and that the clients could be charged a large percentage if they don't pay their bill. So she clearly doesn't trust her clients to handle their own financial affairs and feels she has to make the choice for them. That's cutting back on her bottom line because we are forced to go other places. She has zero business sense.
