Welcome to Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation
Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation, located at 28915 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, OH 44092, is a highly specialized "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing advanced physical rehabilitation services for animals. Unlike traditional veterinary clinics that focus on general medicine or surgery, this facility is entirely devoted to helping pets recover from injuries, surgery, or manage chronic pain and mobility issues. They are a unique, stand-alone veterinary rehabilitation practice. They can be reached by phone at (440) 462-4600 or via mobile at +1 440-462-4600.
The environment at Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation is specifically designed to facilitate healing, recovery, and a positive experience for pets. Customer reviews consistently highlight a compassionate and understanding atmosphere. The clinic excels at working with "nervous dogs," patiently allowing them to proceed "at his pace," which is crucial for successful rehabilitation. This indicates a calm, patient, and adaptable environment where the staff prioritizes the pet's emotional comfort alongside their physical needs. The facility is described as a "newly built state-of-the-art facility," implying modern equipment and a clean, comfortable, and stress-free setting. The presence of specialized equipment like an "underwater treadmill" and a "gym time" suggests dedicated spaces for various therapeutic exercises, contributing to a professional yet encouraging atmosphere for pets to regain their mobility and confidence.
Cleveland Veterinary Rehabilitation offers a specialized and comprehensive range of services, aiming to decrease pain, increase functional mobility, and improve the quality of life for companion and performance animals. It's important to note that, as a dedicated rehabilitation facility, they do not perform general veterinary services such as bloodwork, vaccines, or general surgery. Instead, they work in conjunction with a pet's primary care veterinarian or specialist. Their services include:
- Rehabilitation Evaluation: A comprehensive assessment of a pet's musculoskeletal and neurological systems to develop a personalized treatment plan. This includes a review of medical history, current medications, diet, home environment, previous activity level, and owner goals.
- Chiropractic Care: Gentle, specialized manual techniques to realign the spine and relax muscles, restoring neurological function.
- Laser Therapy: Utilizing therapeutic lasers to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing.
- Therapeutic Exercise: Customized exercise programs designed to build strength, improve balance, increase range of motion, and enhance overall physical fitness. This often includes specific exercises performed in their "gym time."
- Hydrotherapy (Underwater Treadmill & Resistance Pool): This is a major component, as highlighted by reviews. The underwater treadmill provides low-impact, high-resistance therapy in warm water, which is soothing and reduces stress on joints. It helps build muscle, relieve pain, and increase blood flow for faster recovery. The resistance pool offers full-body exercise, decreasing inflammation and improving conditioning.
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): Pets breathe 100% oxygen under pressure in a specialized chamber, offering numerous healing benefits for various ailments.
- Regenerative Medicine (PRP): Utilizing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy to aid in tissue healing for orthopedic conditions.
- Shockwave Therapy: A non-invasive treatment that stimulates cells to release healing growth factors, reducing swelling and inflammation, increasing blood flow, and decreasing pain.
- Acupuncture: An ancient Chinese method recognized as a safe and effective form of pain management and treatment for various conditions.
- Gait Analysis & Lameness Detection System: Advanced tools to assess a pet's gait pattern to detect early signs of lameness and monitor improvement.
- Home Exercise Program (HEP): A critical component of the rehabilitation program, consisting of therapeutic exercises owners can perform at home between clinic visits to maintain progress.
- Cart & Brace Assistance: Providing guidance and assistance in determining if a pet requires assistive equipment, either temporarily or permanently.
- Synovetin OA: A revolutionary injectable product for year-long pain relief associated with osteoarthritis.

This commitment to "relieving pain, restoring mobility, and regaining life" for pets is evident in every aspect of their service. Furthermore, their role as a standalone facility dedicated solely to rehabilitation allows them to focus all their resources and expertise on this specific area, making them a premier choice for specialized care. The clinic's commitment to teamwork, working with primary care veterinarians, ensures a holistic approach to the pet's overall health.

May 22, 2025 · Steph SecicDr. Surovi and her team have been a godsend for our 1 year old dog. When we were told our 6 month old puppy would need surgery for her luxating patella, we knew we had to try something else first. After having our energetic dog need to be sedated for hours at a time to keep her out of pain, I can say with full confidence that Cleveland Vet Rehab has saved our lives and preserved our happiness. Molly Moon is now a confident, loving, and still very energetic dog who looks forward to her underwater treadmill and gym time with her trainer, also named Molly :) we cannot thank this place enough for giving our pup a new life!
Jan 17, 2025 · Emma Rose ShulmanWe love CVR! Dr. Laura Surovi and the entire staff are so incredible. My dog is a recent amputee due to cancer so we go in for the hydrotherapy pool and acupuncture. CVR has become his favorite place, and the staff have become his favorite people. I know that each visit Zeek is getting the best care. They truly go above and beyond in every aspect. We’re so thankful to have found them to help Zeek become the best version of his new self!
Apr 11, 2024 · Lauren StinzianoWe are grateful for Dr Surovi and staff for all of the care and attention given to Moose, Mollie and Minnie Bee (RIP). We consistently visit to keep the mobility of our aging bulldogs as best as possible through laser therapy and acupuncture.
Jun 11, 2024 · Patti ConradDr. S and her team have been incredible to our 6 year old Goldendoodle who suffered a spinal injury in 2022. We do acupuncture and have done under water treadmill therapy as well. I know when we come she is in the best care and getting healthier with each session. Forever grateful.
