I’ve had many negative experiences with vets in the past, from unnecessary procedures going wrong to rude staff, so I was very hesitant, tired, and guarded to try a new veterinarian. However, a good friend of mine said she heard good things about this vet and recommended I give them a shot. I have now been with them for years. There is NO ONE I trust more than Jeanine to give my kitty her monthly ingestions. Unlike with other nurses with whom my cat cries during every shot, Jeanine must have magical hands because most of the time my cat doesn’t react at all to an injection. Jeanine is patient, incredibly sweet, gentle and caring. Her monthly visits are not a source of stress, but are actually a pleasure. (If someone ever told me I would ever feel this way, I would say they are out of their mind). When my cat needs a doctor, it’s Dr. Attas. She is amazing. She takes the time to answer all my questions and go over treatment plans in detail. I feel heard, and I feel that my cat is well taken care of. Because Dr. Attas and Jeanine come to our house, it’s so much less stressful for all parties involved. I am so happy we found this vet and I would recommend them to all pet owners!

This is particularly beneficial for pets with a history of anxiety during vet visits, senior pets, or those with mobility issues.
City Pets offers a range of essential veterinary services, primarily focusing on preventative care and general health management. Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from their clients, these services include routine vaccinations, which are administered with exceptional care and gentleness. One recurring highlight is the skill of their nurse, Jeanine, particularly in administering injections. Her ability to give monthly ingestions with minimal to no reaction from the cat is described as "magical," indicating a high level of expertise and a compassionate approach that minimizes discomfort for the animal. This specialized skill in handling and administering treatments is a significant feature that sets City Pets apart.
Beyond routine care, City Pets provides thorough veterinary consultations and develops detailed treatment plans when your pet requires medical attention. This convenience is invaluable in a busy urban environment like New York City, saving time and eliminating the difficulties of transporting pets, especially those who are fearful of carriers or car rides.
The professionalism and kindness of the City Pets team are consistently highlighted in customer reviews. Dr. Dalton and her colleague are described as being on time, professional, and "kind and caring in an extraordinary way." Their ability to put a semi-feral rescue cat at ease, administer vaccinations, and trim nails before a long move demonstrates their exceptional skills in handling even the most anxious animals with patience and gentleness. This level of compassionate care extends to all their interactions, building strong relationships with both pets and their owners.

Sep 26, 2024 · Olga KravchenkoI could not recommend City Pets more highly. (This is the first review I have ever written). Dr. Dalton and her colleague were on time, professional, and most importantly kind and caring in an extraordinary way. Cubby, a semi-feral rescue orange tabby, hadn’t been to a vet in 5 years due to his terror of pet carriers. They put him at ease, administered vaccinations, and trimmed his nails before gently getting Cubby and my other two rescues into carriers for a long move. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
Sep 16, 2024 · Henry DalbyThe City Pets team are the absolute best in the city - they provided top notch care for our dog Cody in his senior years after vet visits became way too stressful for him. Other home vets turned us away because they couldn’t handle Cody’s many chronic medical issues, but Dr. Attas, Dr. Dalton, and their entire team welcomed him with so much care and compassion and helped add many many more years to Cody’s life. They helped us navigate countless health issues and emergencies, never giving up on Cody and helping him pull through every time. They always slotted us in when it was an emergency and were always very responsive, even on nights and weekends. When it came time to say goodbye, they handled everything with so much love and warmth and Cody was so at peace with them. Without a doubt Cody would not have lived such a long, full life without their care. They are truly the best of the best!
Apr 25, 2024 · Diana BottiniDr. Amy Attas saved Yoda's life! Yoda is our 8-year old French Bulldog and he had a terrible experience at another vet in the West Village - we almost lost him at a dental appointment gone wrong!! Dr. Attas was referred to us by a friend. Shortly after Dr. Attas started her house calls at our apartment, Yoda wasn't eating regularly and she noticed Yoda's blood work was abnormal. We took Yoda straight away to Blue Pearl after Dr. Attas called to warn us that this was an urgent matter. Dr. Attas has relationships with the doctors at Blue Pearl and she was able to follow up with them directly. Yoda wouldn't be here if Dr. Attas hadn't caught this abnormal blood work early on. Yoda had an emergency surgery to remove a portion of his liver and his gallbladder which would have ruptured in the imminent future. This is often caught after the fact with dogs, when it's too late!! She's been great with Yoda and always follows up! Not to mention she comes to us so we don't have to Uber Yoda around! Couldn't recommend City Pets more!!
Mar 15, 2018 · MichaelaDr. Attas is the best vet ever. I'm so grateful to have the option of home care for my cats since they are too anxious to physically go to the vet. She and her assistant have been extremely professional and timely in their response. Calling the office gets you a visit almost within 24-48 hours and even quicker if it's a real emergency. It was the least stressful pet visit ever. They set up in your home very quickly and take the time to get to know your cat before they prod them. They always take the time to educate an anxious cat parent and their rates are very reasonable. My cats love them! Thanks so much Dr. Attas!
