As long as I live in this area, I’ll never go to another vet. This morning, My dog had 4 seizures at home. I called on the way. They put me on triage board immediately. My dog somewhat recovered upon arrival and I was able to walk him in, but I know they would have come out and got him if I called. When I came inside, they recognized his slight pant that was not normal, rushed him back and found him to be in vtach. They asked if I wanted CPR, which I did not because of his age and heart condition. The vet pretty quickly came to see me in the room to get more info and talk about what I wanted to do. By then, they had at least given him lidocaine for his arrhythmia. The tech thought he might pass as his BP was so low, so they rushed me back to be with him. He ended up being okay at that point and we had some time for me to bring him in the private room and spend alone time. They gave me water, tissues, and a bell for when I was ready. I wasn’t ready but he unfortunately went into vtach again and started seizing. When I called the bell, the vet came immediately and started the sedative to relax him. I did have to put him to sleep, as we didn’t believe his condition was reversible. However, these employees showed they really cared for me and for Neville. They were upfront about costs. They asked my permission for everything. Even when I couldn’t make a decision, they went ahead and got him out of the critical condition right away so he could stop suffering…to give me some time to talk and think. The staff was just amazing. I’ve never felt so supported and cared for in a veterinary office. I can’t remember the veterinarians name right now because I was too upset, but she was just so so great. Props to these people for giving their hearts to both pets and pet parents.

Key features of City of Angels Veterinary Specialty Center include its 24/7/365 emergency and critical care availability, providing immediate attention for pets in crisis. This constant readiness is a defining characteristic, as is the presence of board-certified veterinary specialists across numerous disciplines. This means that pets receive care from veterinarians who have undergone extensive additional training and rigorous certification in their specific fields, comparable to medical specialists in human healthcare. The "team approach" to patient care is a significant feature, where specialists from different departments collaborate on complex cases, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop the most comprehensive treatment plans. As an AAHA-accredited hospital (at least its dental practice, Dog and Cat Dentist Inc., is AAHA-accredited within this facility), they adhere to high standards of patient care, pain management, and surgery. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology, ensuring accurate and timely interventions. Furthermore, the commitment to compassionate client communication and support during highly emotional circumstances, such as end-of-life decisions, is a notable feature, as evidenced by positive customer feedback. They also operate on a referral-only basis for many of their specialty services, emphasizing collaboration with a pet's primary veterinarian.

The center promotes its diverse range of specialties and the expertise of its board-certified veterinarians, assuring clients of the highest level of care for complex conditions. While specific promotional offers for services like discounted exams are less common for specialty hospitals compared to general practices, the value proposition lies in the advanced capabilities and specialized knowledge they provide. Customer reviews for City of Angels Veterinary Specialty Center present a mixed but ultimately insightful picture. The overwhelmingly positive review details an incredibly supportive and professional experience during a pet's critical seizure and subsequent euthanasia. This client praised the immediate triage, the staff's ability to recognize subtle symptoms, their swift action in stabilizing the pet, and their transparent communication regarding costs and options. The emphasis on allowing the owner time with their pet in a private room, providing comfort items like water and tissues, and the compassionate response during the final moments ("showed they really cared for me and for Neville") highlights the exceptional emotional support offered during a devastating time. This review reflects the compassionate, patient-centered approach that is vital in an emergency and specialty setting. However, another review expresses severe dissatisfaction, labeling the center as "scam artists" due to high charges for an examination of a severely injured cat, followed by a declaration that nothing could be done, and an additional charge for not taking the ashes. This stark contrast underscores the inherent challenges in emergency and specialty veterinary care, where costs can be substantial for advanced diagnostics and treatments, and outcomes are not always favorable despite best efforts. It also highlights the critical importance of clear communication regarding prognosis and financial implications. Despite this negative feedback, the detailed positive review strongly emphasizes the exceptional care, professionalism, and empathy provided to both pet and owner during a life-or-death situation, making it a valuable resource for critical and complex pet health needs.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. These people are scam artists who prey on people trying to save their pets. They charged my mom $2000 to examine her cat that was hit a car only to tell her that there’s nothing they can do. Then charged her $300 because she did not want the ashes. I could sue these scumbags. Rest in peace Sparky.

I will always be grateful for this animal hospital they saved 2 of my dogs. One of my dogs was hit by a car they took her in right away and literally brought her back to life. When I brought my second dog he is was puppy I had just bought from the previous owner I did not know he was sick the next day he passed out we rushed him to this hospital and they were able to revive him. I did not think my dogs were going to make it but the staff here were able to work miracles.

Are Cat Almost Died because of this place. They Charged us $600 Dollars and did zero help for our cat. Zero Blood Work Nothing... Even though it was needed badly. Drs don't care and are completely unqualified to be Vets. They even forgot the Pet Cone 3 times. We had to ask for it 3 times. Even Though we paid for it.
