I have been visiting this clinic for over two years. Dr. Kim spayed my dog, put a chip in her and made her nostrils bigger since her nostrils were very small and she was having hard time to breathe. Everything went well. Other occasion, my babies got poisoned with food and Dr. Drinkwater took care of both of my babies. She treated both and prescribed a treatment to be continued at home. They recuperated very quickly. The doctors are very professional, very kind and nice. The same with the girls at the counter, always very nice. I’m very pleased with their service.

The positive testimonials from pet owners highlight the professionalism, kindness, and expertise of their doctors and staff, as well as their ability to handle a range of medical and surgical needs. A crucial aspect of a full-service pet hospital like Chesapeake Animal Hospital is the likely presence of an on-site pharmacy, allowing for the convenient and immediate dispensing of prescribed medications for their patients.

The environment at Chesapeake Animal Hospital is likely designed to be welcoming and efficient for both pets and their owners. While specific details about the clinic's layout and facilities are not provided in the reviews, it is reasonable to expect a clean and organized space with examination rooms for consultations and treatments. Given the surgical procedures mentioned (spaying and nostril surgery), the hospital would undoubtedly have well-equipped surgical suites and areas for pre- and post-operative care. The ability to handle medical emergencies, such as the reported food poisoning cases, suggests the presence of necessary diagnostic and treatment equipment. Furthermore, the positive comments about the "girls at the counter" being "always very nice" indicate a friendly and supportive front office staff, contributing to a positive overall experience. For a hospital that caters to anxious pets, as mentioned in one review, the environment likely incorporates strategies to minimize stress, such as a calm atmosphere and gentle handling techniques.

The services offered at Chesapeake Animal Hospital appear to be comprehensive, addressing a wide range of pet health needs. Surgical services are explicitly mentioned, including routine procedures like spaying and more specialized surgeries such as the nostril surgery performed by Dr. Kim to improve a dog's breathing. The successful treatment of food poisoning in two pets by Dr. Drinkwater indicates their capability in handling medical emergencies and providing appropriate care, including diagnosis and prescription of at-home treatments. Preventative care, such as microchipping, is also offered. The convenience of an on-site pharmacy streamlines the treatment process and ensures that pet owners leave with the medications they need and clear instructions on how to administer them. The availability of a pharmacy also allows the veterinary team to have better control over the medications dispensed, ensuring quality and proper labeling.

I just moved from the OBX of NC to Chesapeake I was super nervous about changing my pups vet I have a pit bull that is anxious and reactive she is a sweet girl but it is always crazy taking her to the vet. Mrs. Brook Toussaint, was so amazing went above and beyond the best experience we’ve ever had at the vet she was great with Cali took her time and gave us good information to help train her better! I’m so grateful we found her….

I took my pup here today bc I really needed him to get his ear checked out. This is not our normal vet as they were “booked” and couldn’t see him. I googled other places and requested appts but again all booked. I found this place online and they had an opening for 9:30 and I took it. My dog is not big on other people or drs he is a really big scared-y cat. The office staff was really nice the nurse who called him in the room was always really nice. The doctor who we saw (I forgot his name) was also super great with him. They took care of our baby and made us feel comfortable. We will no longer be using the other vet. And will be coming back here for any needs for our baby. I recommend everything that this hospital offers. I first took my pup here 4 months ago for a mass he had on his ear. This was not our normal vet but the only place that opened early and the only place that could see him: About 2 months later we had surgery to remove it. The surgery went well and they took great care of him. And always kept in touch to see how he was doing. Unfortunately 2 weeks after his surgery his health declined at a rapid pace and we found out he had cancer and later had to put him down. The staff and Dr. Neering (I believe that may be her name) were so great with him and the decision we had made. We even received a card from her. If and when we ever have more fur babies in our future we will definitely be bringing them here. Our family thanks you for everything you all did. If I could rate this facility/staff more than 5 stars ⭐️ I would.

I brought my dogs here when they were puppies, then once I moved I chose a closer vet. It has been a few years but I had returned back to Chesapeake animal hospital and honestly I wish I'd have never left. They're very accommodating and pricing is on par with others in the area (I've been to two other vets within the past few years due to distance). I will most likely be bringing my pets back here for future visits. Highly recommend this vet to anyone looking.

I wish I had found this place years ago! You can really tell that they care about your fur babies. They do their absolute best to get you in as soon as possible when your pet is ill. When our little Rosie fell gravely ill, they offered to see her that same day. If you’re searching for a new or better veterinarian, I highly recommend Chesapeake Animal Hospital!
