We brought in our dog because she was wheezing at night. Initially when we brought her in, we were told by Dr. Dave that he's seen this many times before and it was just a little sinus infection (without doing any real exam of her). It was a "trust me I know" type of conversation. We ended up bringing her back two weeks later as it wasn't getting better. We were still told that he believed it was a sinus issue and we shouldn't worry. But to ease our mind, he flushed out her sinuses with saline (causing bleeding and discharge.) We then brought her to Valley Vet and the Veterinarian held a cotton strand up to her nose and said, "she has a mass in her right nostril, we need to get her a CT scan asap". And, he was right. She had a cancerous tumor in her right nostril. That visit took 5 minutes, where we were waiting nearly a month for an answer previously on why her breathing was so poor. As our primary vet, we initially reached out for any type of support as we tried to navigate our way through this diagnosis with palliative care. We weren't given that and felt like we were just shrugged off during this period of such stress and unknowing. Sadly, our beloved dog passed not too long after.

Based on the available reviews, Chaparral Animal Health Center offers a range of services. Dr. Dave is the best. He helped my senior border collie with acupuncture and chiropractic. He and his staff are always so kind and compassionate. I 100% recommend Dr Dave if you are seeking holistic alternatives for your pets.

Great vet with alternate medication options for our senior dog with cancer. They removed her growths for less than half of what CSU Vet school wanted! Prescribed natural cancer prevention & immune boosting nutrients. It's been 6 years since her first growth was removed! Traditional radiation treatments estimated she'd have a yr 6 months after treatment!? She's still in good spirits!

Dr Dave is simply the best. I drive my anxious pups 40 minutes one way just to see him. His love for animals is so clear and the work that he does on them is profound. My dog had a random limp and Dr Dave did chiropractic and acupuncture on her three times and she started to heal. Amazing work! 馃檹

I would not recommend this "vet" to anyone. I wish I had read Emily L's review before coming because she had a similar experience to our's. We were looking to combine eastern medicine & his dietary/supplement suggestions to the regiment of western medicine our pup is going through. Instead, we got a lecture about how all the supplements we have her on are useless, vaccines are useless, the food we were giving her was overpriced and useless, but GUESS WHAT? Buy his magical powder that he'll whip up for you and that will work great! Felt more like a scam than a vet. Overall a traumatic experience seeing him.
