I called them asking how much it cost to deworm my dog, they told me it's $20, when I left the bill was $90!!!! They told me they have to get Dr to examine him, check his feces and give him a shot, I already know he has worms but they want to charge me $90 to tell me that! BEWARE, they do bait and switch there.

Centennial Hills Animal Hospital operates within the category of a Pet Hospital, indicating its focus on providing medical care and related services for pets. This encompasses a broad spectrum of needs, from routine check-ups and preventative care to diagnostics and treatment for various illnesses and injuries. Pet hospitals typically offer a more comprehensive suite of services compared to basic veterinary clinics, often equipped with advanced medical equipment and facilities to handle more complex cases.
While specific details about the hospital's environment are not readily available in the provided information, a typical pet hospital strives to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for both pets and their owners. This usually includes clean and well-maintained examination rooms, comfortable waiting areas designed to minimize stress for animals, and potentially specialized areas for different types of care, such as surgical suites, radiology departments, and recovery wards. The focus is generally on creating a safe and hygienic environment conducive to healing and positive experiences.
The services offered at a pet hospital like Centennial Hills Animal Hospital are likely to be extensive. These commonly include:
Preventative Care: This is a cornerstone of pet health and typically involves routine wellness exams, vaccinations tailored to your pet's species and lifestyle, parasite prevention (including heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling to ensure your pet maintains a healthy weight and diet.
Diagnostics: When a pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is crucial. Pet hospitals often have in-house diagnostic capabilities, such as laboratory services for bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal exams. They may also offer imaging services like digital radiography (X-rays) and ultrasound to visualize internal structures.
Medical Treatment: This encompasses the management of various illnesses, from common infections to more complex medical conditions. Veterinarians at the hospital are equipped to diagnose and treat these issues, often prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
Surgery: Many pet hospitals offer surgical services, ranging from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. These procedures are typically performed in dedicated surgical suites with anesthesia monitoring equipment.
Dental Care: Dental health is vital for pets. Services may include routine dental cleanings, dental examinations, and treatment for dental diseases.
Emergency Care: While not explicitly stated, many pet hospitals offer or are affiliated with emergency services for urgent medical needs outside of regular hours.
Other Services: Depending on the hospital, they might also offer services like microchipping for identification, behavioral counseling, and end-of-life care.
Features of a pet hospital often include a team of qualified and experienced veterinary professionals, including veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff who are passionate about animal care. Access to diagnostic equipment and treatment modalities is another key feature. The commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine is also important.
It's important to consider all available information when choosing a veterinary care provider. One customer review included in the provided information raises a concern regarding billing practices. The review mentions a discrepancy between the initially quoted price for a deworming service ($20) and the final bill ($90), which included an examination, fecal check, and injection that the customer felt were unnecessary as they already knew their dog had worms. This review suggests a potential issue with transparency in pricing and the communication of required services and associated costs. It is advisable for pet owners to discuss all potential charges upfront and understand the necessity of each recommended procedure before proceeding with treatment.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of Centennial Hills Animal Hospital, it would be beneficial to seek additional information from various online sources, such as other review platforms and the hospital's website if available. This can provide a broader perspective on the experiences of other pet owners and the hospital's stated policies and services. Visiting the facility in person, if possible, can also offer valuable insights into the environment and the staff's interactions with pets and owners.
When considering Centennial Hills Animal Hospital for your pet's care, remember to:
* Inquire about the cost of services and request a detailed estimate before any procedures are performed.
* Discuss the necessity of all recommended tests and treatments and understand the reasons behind them.
* Feel comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification on any aspect of your pet's care.
* Consider seeking multiple opinions if you have any concerns or doubts about the recommended treatment plan.
Choosing the right veterinary care provider is a crucial decision for every pet owner. By combining the information available with your own research and communication with the hospital, you can make an informed choice that best suits your pet's needs.
