Never made an appointment as the receptionist was very rude. I got my very first dog and called to make an appointment and the receptionist acted like I was bothering her. Asked her a question and she didn’t even answer it, just caught an attitude and repeated they don’t have anything until 4 weeks out. I literally didn’t even ask if they had anything sooner, i was fine with the appointment 4 weeks out. I’ve considered the fact that maybe she misunderstood what I was asking but even if she did, that’s not how you speak to potential customers.

Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic Introduce
Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic, located at 3108 Crosby Cedar Bayou Rd in Baytown, Texas, operates within the platform category of a Pet Hospital, providing veterinary care and related services to the local pet community. As a long-established animal clinic, Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic aims to offer a range of medical services for companion animals. The provided customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the clinic, highlighting both potential strengths in veterinary care and areas for improvement in customer service.
While specific details about the environment of Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic are not provided, it is typical for a veterinary practice operating as a pet hospital to maintain a professional and functional setting. This would generally include examination rooms where veterinarians can conduct consultations and assess the health of pets. There would likely be areas for administering treatments, performing minor procedures, and potentially surgical facilities for more complex interventions. Depending on the scope of services, there might also be areas for diagnostic imaging, laboratory work, and recovery for animals. A clean and organized environment is essential for ensuring the well-being of the animals and providing a reassuring experience for pet owners.
The services offered at Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic would generally encompass a broad range of veterinary care. This typically includes preventative care such as routine wellness examinations, vaccinations tailored to individual pet needs, parasite prevention (including heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling. Preventative care is vital for maintaining the long-term health and quality of life of pets.
In addition to preventative care, Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic would also address medical issues that may arise. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, management of chronic conditions, and provision of necessary medical and therapeutic interventions. Diagnostic services, such as laboratory testing and possibly imaging technologies like X-rays, would likely be available to aid in accurate diagnoses. Depending on the expertise of the veterinarians at the clinic, surgical services, ranging from routine procedures to more complex surgeries, may also be offered.
A significant feature of Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic, based on the customer reviews, appears to be the long-standing reputation and expertise of Dr. Dobbs. One reviewer mentions going to Dr. Dobbs since 1997 and continuing to drive almost two hours to have their pets seen by him. This strong loyalty over many years and multiple pets (including cats, Great Danes, and a Toy Poodle) speaks highly of Dr. Dobbs's veterinary skills, trustworthiness, and the quality of care he provides. The reviewer explicitly states, "You will not find a better vet anywhere. I trust him completely." This testimonial underscores the potential for excellent veterinary care at this clinic, particularly under the guidance of Dr. Dobbs.
The same positive review also notes that Dr. Dobbs is "very good and reasonably priced" and that he is very popular, sometimes leading to longer wait times or the clinic adapting its scheduling to allow him to see more animals. This suggests that Dr. Dobbs's thoroughness and dedication to his patients are valued, even if it occasionally impacts scheduling. The reviewer's willingness to travel a significant distance indicates a high level of confidence in Dr. Dobbs's abilities and the care provided at Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic.
However, another customer review presents a contrasting experience with the receptionist, describing them as "very rude" during a first-time call to make an appointment for a new dog. The reviewer felt as though they were bothering the receptionist, who allegedly did not answer a question and displayed a negative attitude, simply stating a four-week wait for appointments. This negative initial interaction could deter potential new clients, regardless of the quality of veterinary care provided by the doctors. It highlights the importance of a positive and helpful front office staff in creating a good first impression and ensuring a positive overall experience for clients.
Considering these two reviews, Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic appears to have a strong reputation for its veterinary care, particularly attributed to Dr. Dobbs's long-standing experience and the trust he has earned from his clients. However, there may be inconsistencies in the customer service provided by other staff members, as indicated by the negative experience with the receptionist. Potential clients might need to weigh these aspects when considering this clinic for their pet's care.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional details or special offers from Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic. For local users interested in learning about any current promotions, wellness plans, or first-time client incentives, it is recommended to contact the clinic directly at (281) 427-1760 or +1 281-427-1760. They can provide the most up-to-date information on their services, appointment procedures, and any potential cost-saving opportunities.
In conclusion, Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic in Baytown, Texas, is a pet hospital with a notable history and a veterinarian, Dr. Dobbs, who has earned significant trust and loyalty from long-term clients. However, potential new clients should be aware of the reported negative experience with the receptionist, which suggests that customer service may be inconsistent. For those prioritizing experienced veterinary care, particularly from Dr. Dobbs, Cedar Bayou Animal Clinic may be a strong option, but it would be prudent to approach initial interactions with the front office with realistic expectations and to focus on the quality of veterinary care provided by the medical staff.

Mar 27, 2025 · Ashley RodriguezI’ve been going to Dr Dobbs since 1997 when I worked with him in Galveston. We drive almost 2 hours to continue to take our dogs to him to this day. He has taken care of 2 cats, 3 Great Danes, and a Toy Poodle for us over the years. You will not find a better vet anywhere. I trust him completely. Even when we moved out of state for a few years, I contacted him for his advice before I allowed the out of state vet to do anything on my animals! He’s very popular because he’s very good and reasonably priced. Some complain they don’t see him, it is because he takes too long with people! The way they do it now, he is able to take care of more animals in less time than when he sees the owners (he’s a kind genuine person that will spend too much time and not see all the animals that need his care). He is by far the best and we will continue to make the drive for him to take care of our pets 💙
Jan 17, 2025 · Sally KirklandThey are friendly and nice and they know what they're talking about. I've had 5 cats and 3 dogs go through there and they are awesome
Feb 16, 2024 · Kay jonesDefinitely recommend you come here if you have a rabbit or small animals like rats or genie pigs. Its a small place but the staff are so sweet and caring. I took my rabbit there a while back and he is doing better now they also do spay and neuters at an affordable price for rabbits. By far the closest and most affordable place if you don't want to drive to Houston.
Jul 10, 2023 · Dalilah GuerraThis was my first time here and it went great. They weren’t able to see my cat because he was not letting them see his paw, but I was told to re-schedule for the following week and give some medications to help with his anxiety. And was not charged for that visit.
