We were there last night and all of the staff we dealt with were FANTASTIC. I’ve never encountered a veterinarian that showed compassion the way ours did whilst having to euthanize our 15 year old Pug. Highly recommend this place (and not too far from GR, which is why I’m going to switch to them!).

My elderly parents’ 10 year old long haired chihuahua had kidney stones that had developed a blockage over Christmas. We brought him to an emergency vet service in GR in the evening the day after Christmas, but after getting the exorbitant estimate for surgery and a return home at 2am (dog was catheterized over night), we made work of finding other options the next day. After several phone calls to excellent vets in our area with no availability, my step sister, a breeder in Belding, highly recommended Cedar Springs Animal Hospital and they worked us in. Surgery was complete by the end of the day and the cost was even less than the estimate. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Helpful, supportive, knowledgeable…even understood the unique role of a dog for the elderly. Surgery was performed by one of the owner-vets and he was excellent…with a great “bedside” manner besides! We cannot thank you all enough. The dog is doing GREAT!! What a RELIEF for us all! I must add that one can tell how well run the clinic is; staff were so personable and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. Thanks again!!

The only time I've visited this clinic was in an emergency situation and I had to put my dog to sleep. It was the worst day of my life, but the staff were all wonderful and their facilities are set up to make the process as smooth and soothing as possible. We never felt rushed or pressured in any way and I'm so grateful that they were available to help my pet pass peacefully, in a comfortable place surrounded by loved ones. This process is always tragic, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to someone in the same position.

I brought my puppy to the emergency and the doors were locked. Now before I went I checked the website. Said they were open until 10. When I got there, there was a lady being checked out with a doctor and the front desk. The automatic doors would not open, normally that means closed but I was having an emergency and the next closest emergency vet is 20 minutes away, so I knocked on the door. They all ignored me so I knocked again. The front desk lady slowly walked to open the doors and literally said nothing to me as I'm in panic i said your open right? She smile and said no were closed. I said are you kidding me? Your website says you’re open! She said we’re at capacity. What in the world!?!? Now normally I wouldn't leave a review however this is my final straw with this vet. I brought my pit bull here years ago and they were afraid of him. AFRAID! As a vet. He was a gentle giant. If you are going to close for capacity reasons, you need to note that on the website so people having emergencies don't waste there time in and emergency driving to you!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We brought our puppy in because we had suspicions of him eating a sock. The doctor was certain there was a foreign body in his STOMACH and told us there was no other possible treatment besides surgery. We contemplated every option, even surrendering him because we can’t afford a 8500$ bill. They come in after 2 hours of crying and weighing options and tell us they are willing to charge 2500 with a payment plan. We agree to it and leave our pup there. 4 hours later I call to check on him to see how he’s doing. The doctor told me he was healthy and doing good but there was “no sock, or foreign object in his stomach and that they were confused”, so I asked questions as to what it could have been that they saw and I got bs excuses as to what I could have been. 15 minutes later, I get a phone call saying they took our puppy out to go potty (after surgery) and he pooped the sock out. So my poor baby went through all of that leaving him with a 8-10 inch incision, just to poop it out on his own. AFTER THE DOCTOR TOLD US THERE WAS NO SOCK IN HIM AND IT WAS JUST THE ANGLE OF THE X-RAY”. Fast forward to the next day, boyfriend picks up puppy and asked to speak to a manger before going through with payment. Then is seated in a waiting room. A new doctor comes in and reviews the X-rays with him and tells him the doctor from the day before had no idea what she was talking about. And that he doesn’t see what she saw. That the sock was already in the small intestine making its way to the large intestine. Had she taken the time to do her job the slightest bit she would have seen this. Not to mention, they made this sound very serious and waited 4 hours to put him through surgery. I have so many questions. Why didn’t they take a second X-ray? Or try any other option? Moral of the story, DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR ANIMAL IF YOU NEED TO MAKE A HUGE DECISION FOR THEM. We did what we felt was best for our pup and got told so many different things, I can’t imagine agreeing to the 8500 and having this happen. Let along the mental distress it put us and our pup through.
