I took my dog there for a nail trim and they were dragging my dog by the neck on his leash. I said to the tech, Stop dragging my dog by the neck! I asked for a manager to call me back and there was no call returned to me. The techs are so untrained or without the intellect that they need that they openly treat animals bad here.

Based on recent customer feedback, there are significant concerns regarding the environment and care practices at Carlisle Equine Clinic. One reviewer described witnessing a staff member dragging their dog by the neck during a nail trim and reported a lack of follow-up from management regarding this incident. This raises concerns about the training and handling techniques of the clinic staff.

Another detailed and deeply concerning review recounts a case involving a young colt. The reviewer alleges a misdiagnosis by Holly J. Wendell, DVM, which reportedly led to a delay in proper treatment for a severe bacterial infection. According to the review, initial symptoms were misattributed to a tick reaction, and subsequent critical symptoms were allegedly dismissed. The colt's condition worsened, and despite a change in veterinary care and intensive treatment, the animal tragically passed away. The reviewer strongly suggests that earlier and more thorough diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, could have potentially altered the outcome. This review expresses a complete lack of trust in the veterinarian.

Given the serious nature of the issues raised in these recent reviews, including allegations of improper animal handling and a critical misdiagnosis with fatal consequences, prospective clients are strongly advised to consider this information carefully. There is no promotional information available, and in light of the provided feedback, it is recommended that individuals seek further information and potentially consult with other veterinary providers before entrusting the care of their animals to Carlisle Equine Clinic - Holly J. Wendell, DVM.

If i could take the 1 star away i would. I had a colt that had some swelling in his throatlatch and we werent sure what it was. It progressively got worse and so i had holly out. She false diagnosed him and said its a tick reaction so gave me antibiotics and steroids. They meds werent working within the week and he had started to get swelling in his sheath. I asked her about his sheath and she avoided my question. I came out to the barn the one day and he was shivering and trying to lay down so i called holly and she said "idk what to tell you it sounds like hes colicing". This was my first time having a horse cokic on me. He ended up being ok. The swelling continued to get worse and he started having trouble walking. I switched vets and they came out and took blood. It ended up being a bad bacterial infection in his GI tract. We put him on stronger antiobiotics which didnt work. He got worse so i took him into the clinic and they did a plasma transfusion. It ended up being too late and his kidneys startes to shut down. He was in so much pain so we decided to put him to sleep. He wasnt even a year old yet and had she done blood work from the beginning we would have caught it in time. I wont ever use holly as a vet again.

Carlisle Small Animal Vet Clinic the best as usual. Had new vet this time, Dr. Shamitko, and new vet tech, John; both very pleasant and professional.
