We had our first vet visit ever here. The team was amazing. Our cat actually had a great time. Our doctor was so talented that our Bubba didn’t even notice he got two shots! No reaction or anything. 10/10, will be going back as long as we live in Arlington.

Jan 04, 2025 · EJ HarrisonI have had two dogs that ultimately needed to be put down. The first was a year and a half ago with my 13 year old Carolina Dog and they immediately told me to go to Friendship Animal Hospital in DC. They still initially tried to charge me the $200 emergency visit even though they didn’t do anything. Although it was eventually taken off it was jarring to deal with in an emergency situation. It was also disconcerting that they don’t have ultrasound equipment readily available at this location when it is an animal hospital in title, to see if my dog had a blockage from something she may have eaten. My second dog was almost 17 and had kidney disease and passed a week ago. I called to see if I could schedule a vet to come to the house to put her down and do a private cremation and was quoted $1250.00. When asked how much it would be to do it in office, the quote was $950. Meanwhile when I had to put my first dog down at Friendship Animal Hospital under an emergency visit, it cost $200 total for euthanasia and private cremation and they waived the emergency visit fee. This time with my 17 year old Rottweiler, she ended up passing on her own at home and I brought her to Friendship for just private cremation, which cost in total $290.00. The fact that I had to take both dogs into DC vs staying in Arlington and that in both situations a fully capable animal hospital was available and by leaps and bounds more affordable is shocking to me. In my first experience with my 13 year old dog, I thought it was just a fluke. But this last one with my oldest and the quotes given, I am disgusted and will never recommend this location for a vet in any circumstance. There is no justification for these quotes beyond taking advantage of your clients during their worst moments of losing a pet.
Dec 31, 2024 · Kelsey NardiniI've been bringing my big fluffy black and white cat to CHAH Clarendon since I moved back to the DMV area in 2022. They've provided the best care including doing his dental care - anesthesia and a couple of extractions - and helping me get my cat through a life-threatening emergency illness and post-emergency check-ups and care. Staff are friendly, veterinary staff are knowledgeable and ready to answer questions; service is quick; and the hours are convenient. Plus the cat exam rooms have some much appreciated catification (wall perches). I highly recommend CHAH Clarendon!
Aug 19, 2024 · Caroline DowI and my two cats joined Caring Hands in September 2023, and they've been wonderful over the past year! One cat was diagnosed with epilepsy, and they were incredibly accommodating to fit us in for appointments during the early days of her diagnosis. Recently, we are preparing for a big move and they've been wonderful with helping me understanding the whole process with taking pets abroad. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
