Dec 11, 2024 · anna manianMy cat was throwing up, and not eating 5 days after his dental cleaning and extractions (performed at Care). Took him back to Care and the vet didn’t do much to try to figure out what was going on. She made me feel guilty about him not having his distemper vaccine (could have sworn he had it, but my mistake), and she questioned the food he has always eaten. She kept reiterating how he needed to eat otherwise he could develop a liver disease, and how he’ll just get worse and worse. Obviously I knew that, it’s why I was there! After taking him to the back for bloodwork, etc, she came back in the room and nonchalantly mentioned how they’re also doing a culture, because they recently had a cat there with a highly contagious virus. I honestly think that she forgot to tell me about it until right before we were done. Again she pushed the distemper vaccine (okay I get it!). She told me to wait about 20 mins to go over his bloodwork, but almost an hour went by, and she didn’t come back. Shame on me for waiting. I asked the front desk to have her call me, because I just wanted to get my little guy home. I never got a call about the bloodwork, I had to call back, more than once. He wasn’t getting better either. They sent a prescription for more anti nausea medicine, but he still wasn’t keeping a bite down. We ended up going to the ER and even they were baffled by how the vet at Care handled everything. They were shocked the vet at Care didn't do an X-ray, and weren’t buying the fact his food had anything to do with it. Turns out he was constipated, and it was most likely from the anesthesia from his dental work. Something Care could have, and probably should have been able to determine had they been more thorough, and done something other than just focus on his distemper shot and reminding me repeatedly how he needs to eat. I felt like there was no urgency in trying to determine what was wrong, and honestly felt like I was being blamed for what was going on with him. Needless to say, we’ll be looking for another vet.
Jan 30, 2025 · Mariela MathersDr. Luaces and his team are EXCELLENT! He is the BEST surgeon I know. He is the only surgeon I trust to work on my dogs. That says a lot because I run a dog rescue and work with vets all over the midwest. I travel almost an hour one way to see him and it is worth every second of my time. He and his staff are kind, caring, and AMAZING.
Feb 23, 2023 · Amy PGIt's always a great experience. Best veterinary hospital team ever. They always go above and beyond for our animals.
Feb 28, 2025 · Megan NeisI want to thank the staff and Dr Luaces for the care of my beautiful cat Bella. Unfortunately, my Bella was very sick and had to cross the Rainbow bridge to Heaven. The doctor was caring and compassionate with this process and with me because I was by myself having to do something like this. Thank you Patty
