As a dedicated Pet Hospital, we understand the deep bond you share with your animal companions and are committed to ensuring their health and well-being through a wide range of professional services and a compassionate approach.
Located at 3121 S Ten Mile Dr, Jefferson City, MO 65109, USA, Capital City Animal Hospital serves the local community with a focus on delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Our easily accessible location ensures that pet owners in Jefferson City and the surrounding areas can readily access the veterinary services they need.
At Capital City Animal Hospital, we strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for both you and your pet. We understand that visiting a veterinary hospital can sometimes be a stressful experience for animals, and our team is dedicated to making each visit as calm and positive as possible. While specific details about the clinic's interior and facilities are not explicitly available in the provided information, a professional and caring atmosphere is a cornerstone of quality veterinary care. You can expect a clean, organized, and well-equipped facility designed to provide efficient and effective treatment.
Our services encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care to address the diverse needs of your pets throughout their lives. These services typically include:
Preventive Care: This is the foundation of your pet's long-term health and includes routine check-ups, vaccinations tailored to your pet's lifestyle and risk factors, parasite prevention (such as heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling. We believe in proactive care to prevent illnesses and detect potential health issues early.
Diagnostic Services: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is crucial. While the provided information doesn't detail specific diagnostic equipment, a modern pet hospital like Capital City Animal Hospital would typically offer in-house laboratory services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal testing. Imaging technologies such as digital radiography (X-rays) and ultrasound may also be available to help visualize internal structures and aid in diagnosis.
Medical Treatment: Our experienced veterinary professionals are equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, from common illnesses to more complex diseases. This includes managing conditions affecting various body systems, such as respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, endocrine, and neurological disorders. We emphasize a thorough and individualized approach to treatment, tailoring plans to meet the specific needs of each patient.
Surgical Services: Capital City Animal Hospital likely offers a range of surgical procedures, from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries. While the specifics aren't mentioned, you can expect a sterile surgical environment and meticulous attention to patient safety and pain management. Pre-surgical evaluations and post-operative care are essential components of our surgical services.
Dental Care: Oral health is an integral part of your pet's overall well-being. We likely provide dental services such as teeth cleaning, dental examinations, and treatment for dental diseases to help maintain your pet's healthy teeth and gums.
Emergency and Urgent Care: While one customer review mentioned a negative experience regarding emergency care for non-clients, it is important to note that many veterinary hospitals prioritize their existing clients during busy periods or after hours. For critical emergencies, it is always advisable to know the location of a dedicated emergency veterinary clinic in your area. However, Capital City Animal Hospital likely handles urgent care situations for their established patients during their operating hours.
Additional Services: Depending on the hospital's capabilities, they may also offer services such as microchipping for permanent pet identification, nutritional counseling to address specific dietary needs, and behavioral consultations to help manage pet behavior issues.
Based on the available customer reviews, we can gain some insights into the service provided at Capital City Animal Hospital. One reviewer expressed high satisfaction, praising the veterinarian's extensive knowledge, detailed explanations of procedures, and friendly demeanor. This positive feedback suggests a commitment to clear communication, thoroughness, and a caring approach to both pets and their owners.
However, another review reported a negative experience regarding a refusal to help a non-client's sick dog. This feedback raises concerns about the hospital's policy on handling non-emergency situations for non-established patients. It is important for pet owners to understand the policies of their chosen veterinary hospital regarding emergency and urgent care, especially if they are new to the practice.

Jan 21, 2025 · Dawn SachsI just called for help with my sick dog and he was not doing well. I mentioned my dog is not well at all. Whoever vet was said he only covers his clients and then proceeded to hang up. This is extremely unprofessional and I’m very upset that he wouldn’t even consider helping
Mar 30, 2025 · Lexi PriceBest Vet I've ever been to 🙂
Mar 23, 2025 · Laurie PetreeI called to ask about my dog and the man answered and said who’s your normal vet I said weathered rock veterinary and he said I don’t work for her. The best thing I can tell you is go to her house and sit in her driveway and beat on her door, other than that, I don’t know what to tell you. I tried to tell him about the issue and he would not listen. This man was older extremely rude and hung up on me. I would give him zero stars if possible. I hope my dog makes it through the night.
Jul 06, 2024 · Cynthia HawkAlmost killed our cat. They gave no pre-procedure instructions and our cat consumed to much food before getting fixed. He told us he was choking on his own vomit and had to be shaken by his tail to clear it. The vet then made our cat sit in his own vomit and pee for 2 and a half hours whole he watched TV. Would not recommend to any one. And yes the reviews and his attitude accurate. 1 star is probably too many.
