This vet clinic is full of people willing to go the extra mile for my dog and me. Cheyenne has been super helpful getting sensors for my diabetic dog. Dr. Farris is excellent in treating my dogs issues but also my concerns and the vet techs are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I am truly glad I found them when I did.

It can be daunting to find quality care for your fur baby, but the staff at CanyonVet really put my mind at ease! From the moment I walk in to the time I leave, I alway feel welcome and I feel like the staff truly care about my pet. Dr Newton is so knowledgeable and always answers all my questions and concerns. Veronica at the front desk was friendly and efficient and Veronica the vet tech was also very thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was even surprised that they called me the next day to check up on my pup after she got her vaccines. Thanks for a great experience! I am so thankful I have found a team who truly cares about the wellbeing of my dog!

We have been bringing our Maltese Bailey for almost a year for check ups, surgery removal of a lump on her chest, extraction of a tooth, and teeth cleaning. We are very happy with the service we receive. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Everyone is always so kind and takes the time to thoroughly explain any medication or procedures our pup needs. We finally found a vet worth coming back to. Would like to thank all the doctors and staff for their professionalism. Thank you so much From Sonia, Andy, Andrew and Bailey

I took my dogs to Canyon Vet New Braunfels in August 2024. The day before flying out. I needed USDA health certification. When I called to schedule it, they asked me to pre-pay over $600 for the visit. I asked how much it would cost in addition and I was told nothing more unless they needed pills or shots. The day of the appointment they charged me over $1700. Total bill came over $2300. I spoke with the office manager who refunded me $625. But the total bill was still much higher than the $800 I was expecting to pay. They decided to rework the bill. And charge $450 per animal. Their partner clinic in Austin charges $201 per animal. They also charged me for the USDA health certification and overnight FedEx label that I paid through the shipper. The shipper prefilled the USDA certificates and sent them to the doctor ahead of time. At first the office manager said she would refund the $250 charges because I shouldn’t have to pay twice for the service. The next day she said they would not to refund it. I would not advise going there because they have you over a barrel. You have to pay what they ask. Or you don’t get your USDA health certificate. I filed a complaint with a Better Business Bureau that was never answered.

I thought that I would really like this vet because it’s a very VERY clean clinic, but every time I go they try to upsell me with additional things. I do not mind that at all, people have to make money. However, when I say no, the staff will give me a dirty look and are not friendly the rest of the appointment. (This has happened every time I come) I don’t mind spending extra money if my pets are getting extra care and what they need, but this clinic charges a LOT for just the bare minimum on top of the staff not being very nice. The last time I was here, my cats came in for vaccine boosters and I wasn’t even put in a room. The tech came out to the waiting room and just took them back while I stayed in the waiting room. She told me she was going to do additional tests and added it to my invoice without my permission. She was going to take my cats back when I stopped her and said (very politely) that I am only here for the vaccine boosters and not the additional tests. She gave me a look and said that she highly recommended the tests for distemper and such. I said no just the boosters today (once again) and she gave me a dirty look and just grabbed my cat to take to the back. The vet never came back to talk to me, I just stayed in the waiting room and then paid over $100 for two vaccine boosters (in total since I have two cats- charged as if the vet had talked to me and I was placed in a room with my cats). There were open rooms available not being used… Overall, I am not impressed. Every time I go it’s a different staff as well…. I don’t plan on coming back because of these issues. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it’s owned by a third party corporate company opposed to a private practice where the vet owns the clinic. There are too many vet clinics out there to be treated like this by the staff. Again, the money isn’t the main issue here. It’s the fact that I was treated in this manner on top of paying a ton of money every time I come. I understand that people have to make money and that the world is expensive but that was ridiculous.
