This place is horrible. You always get a nasty attitude from vet techs, receptionists etc. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment and they told me to come back later. Seriously? I waited outside and when I came back in, the receptionist was talking to a couple that brought in a bunch of dogs in crates. The receptionist spent almost a half hour talking to these people before turning them away for not having an appointment. At that point I was checked in a half hour after my appointment because they prioritized chatting with walk ins. I had to stand there and wait while they had a pointless conversation. Also the pet care here is terrible, they give contradictory advice depending on who you talk to. The sliding scale fee is just not worth it. You don’t even save that much money. Just go to a normal priced vet because the staff is rude and will treat you horribly.

Based on feedback from real customers, experiences at CAMP Clinic San Pedro appear to be varied. One customer reported a negative experience, citing a perceived nasty attitude from some staff members, issues with appointment punctuality and check-in procedures, and concerns about the consistency of pet care advice. This reviewer also felt that the sliding scale fee did not offer significant savings and ultimately recommended seeking care at a regularly priced veterinary clinic due to their negative interactions with the staff.
In contrast, another customer shared a positive experience, particularly highlighting the quality of a spay surgery performed at the clinic. They noted the excellent surgical outcome with no bruising or sloppy stitches and reported that their dog did not seem to be in pain post-operatively. This reviewer also mentioned opting for additional services like medication and blood tests. They appreciated the veterinarian's thoroughness in noticing a potential health issue and proactively communicating about it, ultimately leading to the approval of a test. Despite a minor issue with GPS directions to the clinic and a somewhat frazzled afternoon staff due to an unrelated personal situation, this customer stated they would bring their dog back to CAMP Clinic again, especially noting the niceness of the morning staff.
As a Pet Hospital offering community medicine, CAMP Clinic San Pedro potentially focuses on providing services that are more accessible to a wider range of pet owners, which might be reflected in their sliding scale fee structure. Oct 15, 2024 · Art VandelayThe vet at CAMP did the most beautiful spay I have ever seen. No bruising from clamps no sloppy stitches, my dog did not seem to be in pain. I did opt to pay for meds and blood tests. I got a voucher from the city that helped offset costs. Vet noticed a possible issue and called and asked if I wanted to approve a test. I did. Dog did not end up having an issue. I was there on time. GPS kept telling me to Look on other side of the street some was lost and it was literally across the street behind me. The staff were really nice in morning. The afternoon one was a bit frazzled there was a lady who appeared to have some personal issue causing a bit of havoc. I did not see an animal with her. I would for sure bring my dog here again.
Oct 20, 2024 · Deborah Davidson HarpurStaff was 💯. Informative, nice, treated my dog with respect
Mar 30, 2025 · Courtland MooreGreat clinic! The vet techs are always super helpful. My dog Charlie needed a recheck after opening some of his stitches and Estela was so helpful in explaining the healing process for him and explaining the purpose of each medication he was given. Estela was also very helpful when I needed a refill for Charlie’s anxiety meds and I was able to get a refill within a couple of days. Everyone who works here seems to genuinely care about pets.
Sep 03, 2024 · Zaria AlamThis place is in desperate need of new vet techs. The actual vet is great and knows what she’s doing but the rest of the staff are probably not qualified to be working here. I took in a homeless cat and brought him here for his first vet visit. The vet tech brought us back to the exam room and asked if I needed to know his gender, I said I know he’s a boy and she says nope, it looks like she’s a girl. 15 minutes later, the actual vet comes in and almost immediately comments that he’s such a nice boy. Later on when I was getting him dewormer, I brought him in to have it applied at the same time he was getting shots but they’d run out of the dewormer so I had to come back and pick it up another time. When I returned to pick it up, a very argumentative vet tech at reception flatly said “just so you’re aware, the medicine is not going to work” even though it was prescribed by the vet at this clinic? Ok. She was arguing with me over the flea meds I’d purchased from a different vet telling me something I already understand about getting fleas under control before giving him dewormer. The flea med I had been giving him wasn’t the same brand they sell at this clinic but it was a prescription med from a vet and it worked very well but they give you the whole song and dance about the flea medicine you’re using not being effective so they can upsell you with the brand they sell at this clinic. I declined and she kept going off about how the dewormer is not going to work. Raising her voice in the reception area and being very argumentative and rude. They were going to apply the dewormer during the previous visit once I let them know I’d already gotten the fleas under control and no one was giving me a hard time about it at that visit so why the inconsistency and telling me a medicine that the vet prescribed isn’t going to work? It seemed like she just wanted to argue, all because I wouldn’t be upsold on flea medication that I was already giving him. I really wanted to just buy the medicine and leave and she just wanted to argue, it was so uncomfortable. Also they cant tell the correct gender of the cat? That seems like the most basic thing a vet tech should be able to do. I should never have had to endure the time wasting argumentative behavior and bad attitude from this terrible employee while trying to pick up a prescribed medication.
