My cat died due to their negligence. I brought her in because she wasn't eating and was having other issues after weeks/months of describing my ongoing/worsening concerns to Valerie on the phone and when I brought my cat in for nail trims. She was also having urination issues and had groomed all the fur off the underside of her tail. Valerie says I never mentioned any of it, and that a UTI wouldn't last that long. I had an appointment with Dr. Hartman for a blood test and possible dental if that was the problem with why she wasn't eating properly, the Dr. sent her home without doing the blood test and said there was no problem. I had mentioned to Valerie at that visit again about all the fur being groomed off her tail, and that she had been urinating everywhere when I picked her up. That information must not have been relayed and the doctor also did not notice that the fur was missing?? 2 weeks later my cat was hospitalized elsewhere for an advanced UTI which could've been treated if they would've done tests to see what was actually wrong instead of doing nothing. I didn't know anything about UTIs in cats but now that I read about them the symptoms were very clear and it is a common treatable ailment in female cats. I just called Valerie about it, she took no responsibility for what happened, didn't care, and said 'well we can't read the minds of animals'. I got disconnected during the call and tried to call back, she wouldn't answer the phone. I tried to send a text and found it could not be delivered to that #, absolutely unbelievable. I am filing a negligence complaint with the State Board of Veterinary Medicine. They have caused immeasurable harm and suffering to my cat and me. Never use this clinic, I moved to the area and switched to them in Spring 2024, now my cat is dead.

  • Positive Experiences: One customer reported a positive experience with Dr. Amy Hartman, highlighting her thorough evaluation of a rescued dog, her ability to provide insightful information about the pet's condition, and the professionalism and service-oriented nature of the Cambria staff. This client found the drive to the clinic worthwhile.
  • Negative Experiences: Another customer shared a deeply concerning experience involving the death of their cat. This review alleges negligence, citing a failure to diagnose and treat a worsening condition (suspected UTI) despite repeated communication of symptoms. The review details a lack of follow-through, alleged dismissal of concerns, and difficulty in contacting the clinic after the pet's death. This customer intends to file a negligence complaint.

Given the contrasting nature of these recent reviews, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive overview of the environment and typical services. While one review praises the professionalism and thoroughness of Dr. Hartman and the staff, the other raises serious concerns about the quality of care and communication.

My rescued pooch and I recently moved back to Harford County and were looking for a reputable veterinarian and we found one at the Cambria Veterinary Center. Dr. Amy Hartman is an excellent professional and conducted a thorough evaluation. As a rescue, there was a lot of information I didn't know about my dog. She was able to provide more information about his age, physical condition and picked up on a change in his gait that I didn't even notice. The Cambria staff is professional, service-oriented and genuinely enjoy the work as it shows in how they treat their customers. Located in Whiteford, MD it's not a quick drive but it's scenic, calming and for me, worth the drive.
