Dr. Dryden was paid thousands of dollars to treat our 2 horses. My wife’s horse had founder and he made clogs and helped the horse over a period of time. My horse received biologics for a branch suspensory issue. For more than a year Dr. Dryden was the regular vet and lameness for our 2 horses. He was paid on time and over $15,000. IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, HE HAS REFUSED TO RETURN TEXTs OR EMAILS SEEKING FOLLOWUP CALLS. HE IS THE WORST. DONT UTILiZE HIS SERVICES BECAUSE HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE CLIENT or THe HORSE. We paid him every $ that was billed and on time SHAME ON YOU DR. DRYDEN! Alan Ballinger Palm Beach, FL

Welcome to Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness
Welcome to Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness, a Pet Hospital located at 2830 Old Lemons Mill Rd, Lexington, KY 40511, USA. As a specialized veterinary care provider operating within the category of a Pet Hospital, Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness focuses particularly on addressing sports-related injuries and lameness in animals. While the name suggests a strong focus on equine patients given the nature of sports medicine and lameness in larger animals, it's important for local users to understand the scope of their services based on available information.
The physical address places this Pet Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, an area known for its significant equine industry. While specific details about the clinic's environment are not provided, a practice specializing in sports medicine and lameness would typically require facilities for thorough lameness examinations, which might include areas for gait analysis, diagnostic imaging such as digital radiography and ultrasound, and potentially treatment areas equipped for therapies relevant to musculoskeletal conditions. Given the nature of their specialization, it is reasonable to expect a professional setting geared towards the diagnosis and management of these types of issues.
As a Pet Hospital concentrating on sports medicine and lameness, the services offered at Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness likely include:
- Comprehensive lameness evaluations to diagnose the underlying causes of gait abnormalities.
- Diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays and ultrasound, to visualize musculoskeletal structures.
- Treatment of sports-related injuries, which could encompass a range of modalities.
- Management of conditions causing lameness, such as arthritis, tendonitis, and other musculoskeletal problems.
- Potentially, the use of biologics in treatment, as mentioned in one of the reviews.
- The creation of therapeutic interventions like specialized shoeing or supports, also indicated in the reviews.
Features of a practice like Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness often include veterinarians with specialized training or a strong interest in equine (and possibly other animal) sports medicine and lameness. Access to advanced diagnostic tools is also a key feature. The mention of "Dr. Dryden" in the reviews suggests a specific practitioner at this facility who has been involved in the care of patients.
The provided customer reviews offer a mixed perspective. One review from Alan Ballinger in Palm Beach, FL, details a situation where Dr. Dryden provided treatment for two horses over a period of more than a year, during which time he was paid over $15,000. The review mentions successful initial treatment, including the creation of clogs for a horse with founder and the use of biologics for a suspensory issue in another horse. However, this reviewer expresses extreme dissatisfaction with the lack of follow-up communication in the last six months, labeling Dr. Dryden as "the worst" and advising against using his services due to perceived disrespect for the client and the horse. This review is a significant point of concern and highlights a potential issue with client communication post-treatment.
In contrast, another review simply states, "Excellent place for vet work. Very professional. Cares about the animals." This positive feedback suggests that some clients have had very satisfactory experiences with Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness, praising their professionalism and the care shown towards animals.
For local users in Lexington, KY, considering Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness as a Pet Hospital for their animals, particularly those with sports-related injuries or lameness, it is important to weigh these contrasting experiences. The positive review indicates the potential for excellent and professional veterinary care with a focus on the animals' well-being. However, the detailed negative review raises serious concerns about communication and follow-up after services have been rendered and paid for.
Given these differing accounts, local pet owners might want to inquire specifically about communication protocols and follow-up care when contacting Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness. The phone numbers provided are (859) 396-2159 and +1 859-396-2159. The address is 2830 Old Lemons Mill Rd, Lexington, KY 40511, USA.
In summary, Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness in Lexington, KY, is a Pet Hospital specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries and lameness in animals, likely with a focus on equine patients. While one customer review praises the professionalism and care, another details significant issues with post-treatment communication. Local users should consider both perspectives when evaluating this veterinary care provider for their needs.
To gain a clearer understanding of their current practices and client communication policies, interested individuals are encouraged to contact Bur Oak Sports Medicine and Lameness directly. The specialization in sports medicine and lameness suggests a focused expertise in these areas, which could be highly beneficial for animals with such conditions, provided that client service expectations are also met.
