My name is Debbie Wilkinson and this has been years coming because I was not computer literate. but today when i see this on line where i can make a review i will. I rate no stats but it made me at least place one star to be able to tell people my story. A few years ago i was going to leave my vet to go to Buckeye because it was very close and they seemed nice and loved animals when i took my animals in. But shortly after changing vets my boxer JOE BOXER was having a seizure and i called to get him in as an emergency. Right off they said yes and within a minute they called back to tell me they didnt have the medication to bring him out of a seizure. Really this is a vet? I took him to my Dr Terrehay at Barberton vet which was ten minutes away and he died as we pulled in the driveway. Shame on Buckeye vet. a day or so later a tech called to see how he was and told him he died. Vet never had the bedside manners to call herself. She sent a card and i refused it!!!Again this is Debbie Wilkinson not David

Welcome to Buckeye Veterinary Clinic LLC: Charlotte Cummings DVM
Welcome to the introduction of Buckeye Veterinary Clinic LLC, a dedicated pet hospital located at 3592 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319, USA. Under the experienced leadership of Charlotte Cummings DVM, Buckeye Veterinary Clinic aims to provide comprehensive and compassionate veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. As a local pet hospital, Buckeye Veterinary Clinic is committed to serving the community of Akron and surrounding areas, offering a range of services to ensure the health and well-being of your pets.
Buckeye Veterinary Clinic operates within the category of a full-service Pet Hospital. This means they strive to be your primary point of contact for all aspects of your pet's health, from routine check-ups and preventative care to the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries. The clinic understands the vital role pets play in our lives and is dedicated to providing high-quality medical and surgical care with a focus on empathy and understanding.
While specific details about the clinic's environment are not explicitly provided in the given information, it is common for reputable veterinary clinics to maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere for both pets and their owners. A well-maintained environment helps to reduce stress for animals during their visit and ensures a hygienic setting for medical procedures. Typically, a pet hospital like Buckeye Veterinary Clinic would feature examination rooms for consultations, a reception area for check-in and check-out, and potentially separate waiting areas for cats and dogs to minimize anxiety. They would also have treatment areas for minor procedures, a surgical suite for more complex operations, and potentially in-house laboratory and imaging facilities for efficient diagnostics.
The services offered at Buckeye Veterinary Clinic, under the guidance of Charlotte Cummings DVM, are likely to encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care. These services generally include:
- Preventative Care: This is a cornerstone of good pet health and typically includes routine wellness examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's species and lifestyle, parasite prevention (such as flea, tick, and heartworm control), and nutritional counseling to help maintain a healthy weight and diet.
- Diagnostic Services: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is crucial. Buckeye Veterinary Clinic would likely offer diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), and potentially imaging services like digital radiography (X-rays) to help identify the underlying cause of illness.
- Medical Treatment: For pets suffering from various medical conditions, the clinic would provide appropriate treatment plans, which may involve medication, fluid therapy, nutritional support, and close monitoring.
- Surgical Services: Many pet hospitals offer surgical procedures, ranging from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries. The availability of advanced surgical procedures would depend on the clinic's facilities and the expertise of Dr. Cummings and her team.
- Dental Care: Dental health is an often-overlooked aspect of pet care. Services may include routine dental cleanings, dental examinations, and treatment of dental diseases to ensure your pet's oral health.
- Emergency Care: The review from Debbie Wilkinson mentions an emergency situation. While the review itself is negative regarding the handling of that specific emergency, it indicates that the clinic initially accepted emergency cases. It is important for local users to inquire directly about their current emergency protocols and availability.
- Other Potential Services: Depending on the clinic's resources and specialization, they might also offer services such as microchipping for pet identification, behavioral counseling, pain management, and end-of-life care to ensure your pet's comfort in their final stages.
Features that might distinguish Buckeye Veterinary Clinic could include the experience and qualifications of Charlotte Cummings DVM and her veterinary team. A dedicated and compassionate staff can make a significant difference in the quality of care provided. The clinic's commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and technology would also be a valuable feature. Furthermore, a focus on clear communication with pet owners, ensuring they understand their pet's condition and treatment options, is a hallmark of a good veterinary practice.
Based on the limited information available, including the single negative review, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive and entirely objective assessment of the clinic's features and overall quality. The review from Debbie Wilkinson expresses a deeply negative experience regarding the handling of a pet emergency and subsequent communication. This review raises concerns about the clinic's emergency preparedness and communication practices in that specific instance. However, it is essential to consider that this is a single account, and other clients may have had different experiences. The second review provided is positive, noting the ability to accompany a cat during an appointment while adhering to safety protocols.
As for promotional information, none was provided in the given data. Typically, a pet hospital might promote services such as seasonal vaccination specials, discounts on new client visits, or awareness campaigns for specific pet health issues. To obtain information on any current promotions or special offers, local users are advised to contact Buckeye Veterinary Clinic directly using the provided phone numbers: (330) 644-4700 or mobile +1 330-644-4700.
In conclusion, Buckeye Veterinary Clinic LLC, led by Charlotte Cummings DVM, is a Pet Hospital located in Akron, OH, offering a range of veterinary services. While one customer review highlights a significant negative experience concerning emergency care, another indicates a positive experience with in-person appointments under safety guidelines. Local users are encouraged to contact the clinic directly to inquire about their services, emergency protocols, and current practices to determine if Buckeye Veterinary Clinic meets their individual pet care needs. Visiting the clinic in person may also provide valuable insight into their environment and the overall atmosphere.
