I have never written a review before but with Brown I had to. They are truly the best Vet I have ever been to. My elder cat's health rapidly declined overnight and I called Brown as soon as they opened because it was the first vet that popped up for emergencies when I looked vets up. And even though I had never been there before and they had no history on my pet they still were kind and understanding and allowed me to bring her in to immediately get checked out. From the very moment I walked in they were incredible. I was a crying mess and they didnt rush me and helped me feel comfortable and understood my feelings. My cat is okay as of right now and I know it's because of Brown Veterinary and their care they provided her. When I asked about euthanization if something went wrong over the next few days they gave me information about the process and were considerate the whole time while explaining it. I have never dealt with the death of a pet and I was so scared about what would happen and now either way I know she'll be cared for and looked after. Thank you Brown Veterinary for giving my cat the attention and care she needed and for making this dark time a little brighter.

Brown Veterinary Hospital Introduce

Brown Veterinary Hospital, located at 909 S 25th St, Terre Haute, IN 47803, USA, operates as a Pet Hospital serving the local community. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at this clinic appear to be diverse, showcasing both exceptional compassion and areas where improvements might be needed. Understanding these varied perspectives can help local users make informed decisions about their pet's care.

One customer shared a deeply positive experience involving their elderly cat who experienced a rapid decline in health overnight. Despite being a new patient with no prior history at Brown Veterinary Hospital, they were met with kindness and understanding. The clinic accommodated an immediate check-up for their cat, and the staff's compassionate approach during a stressful and emotional time was particularly appreciated. The reviewer, who was understandably upset, felt supported and not rushed. Furthermore, the hospital provided considerate information about the euthanasia process when the owner inquired about potential future scenarios. This experience highlights the hospital's capacity for empathy and their willingness to provide immediate care even to new patients in urgent situations. The positive outcome for the cat, who was reported to be okay due to the care received, further underscores the potential for excellent veterinary service at Brown Veterinary Hospital.

In stark contrast, another customer recounted a significantly negative experience. This individual, new to the Terre Haute area, scheduled a routine appointment for their cat a week in advance. Upon arriving 15 minutes early, they found the waiting room crowded with dogs, which caused their cat considerable distress due to barking. Their request for a separate waiting area was denied. The reviewer then experienced a prolonged wait, extending past their scheduled appointment time. When they inquired about the delay, they were eventually taken to an examination room, only to endure further waiting without seeing a veterinarian. Upon finally speaking with a staff member after a considerable delay, they were informed that they were considered a "work in" despite having booked an appointment over a week prior. This miscommunication and the subsequent lack of timely attention led the customer to leave without their cat being seen. Adding to their frustration, they reported difficulty in obtaining a refund for a required $50 deposit and an inability to get their phone calls answered by the reception staff.

Considering these two contrasting reviews, the environment at Brown Veterinary Hospital seems to have both welcoming and potentially stressful aspects. The positive review emphasizes a compassionate and supportive atmosphere, particularly in emergency situations. However, the negative review points to a potentially crowded waiting area with a lack of segregation between cats and dogs, which can be distressing for feline patients. The long wait times and the apparent miscommunication regarding appointment status also suggest potential issues with the clinic's workflow or reception management.

The services offered by Brown Veterinary Hospital appear to include emergency care, routine appointments (though the handling of these seems to be a point of concern for one reviewer), diagnostics, and treatment for various pet health issues, including parasitic infections like tapeworms. They also provide information and support regarding end-of-life care such as euthanasia. The willingness to see a new emergency patient immediately suggests a commitment to addressing urgent needs. However, the negative experience highlights potential shortcomings in appointment scheduling and communication regarding wait times.

Features of Brown Veterinary Hospital could include a compassionate and understanding staff, particularly in emergency situations, and a willingness to accommodate new patients requiring urgent care. However, potential drawbacks, based on one review, include a lack of separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, long and unpredictable wait times even with scheduled appointments, and difficulties in communication with the reception staff, including unanswered phone calls and issues with deposit refunds. The discrepancy in the handling of scheduled appointments versus "work-ins" also appears to be a point of confusion and dissatisfaction for at least one customer.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers at Brown Veterinary Hospital. Pet Hospitals often have initiatives such as new client discounts, wellness plans, or seasonal promotions for specific services. Local users interested in learning about any such offers should contact Brown Veterinary Hospital directly using the provided phone numbers: (812) 645-0715 or mobile phone +1 812-645-0715.

In conclusion, Brown Veterinary Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, presents a complex picture based on the available reviews. They demonstrate the capacity for exceptional compassion and care, particularly in emergency situations, and have a staff that can be incredibly supportive during difficult times. However, there are also significant concerns raised regarding the waiting environment for cats, the handling of scheduled appointments, communication with reception, and the management of administrative issues like deposits. Local users considering Brown Veterinary Hospital should weigh these contrasting experiences and may want to inquire specifically about their policies regarding waiting areas, appointment scheduling, and communication to ensure their needs and their pet's comfort will be adequately addressed.

I recently moved to the Terre Haute area and needed to have my cat seen for tapeworms. I made an appointment a week ahead of time and when the time came for the appointment we arrived 15 minutes early. The waiting room was full of dogs and my cat became very upset because of their barking. I asked if they had a room I could wait in and was told no. I waited and waited passed my appointment time to be called back to see the Dr so I asked how much longer. Finally an assistant came and got us in a room. Again I waited and waited. No Dr ever came. I finally yelled out because I could hear several people talking and laughing on the other side of the door. A girl then came in and said you are a "work in" not an appointment and the Dr will be in when he's finished. I told her I had an appointment over a week ago but she wouldn't listen. I finally packed my cat up and left. Now I have to fight them for my REQUIRED DEPOSIT of $50! Also can't get anyone to answer the telephone when I call. I have to leave messages that are not returned. 3 girls at the reception desk you'd think one could pick up the phone! Grrr looking for a different vet now.

I love Dr. Brown!! Have been with her since she was at the airport clinic. How...the staff NEVER RETURN YOUR CALLS!!! and recently a vet tech had the power (she thought) to get very rude and unprofessional at 25th st. Facility. They had our appt completely wrong..after I even repeated the time day and facility back to the receptionist when she booked my appt. Then we were told they didn't have time to work us in. This isn't the first time they have gotten things mixed up or failed to notify us about a issue. Sadly I am switching vets now. I hope Dr. Brown finds out how mixed up the office has become before she looses MANY patients.

Excellent service fast and efficient. This will be my new vet. My poor girl ( pup) had so many fleas and had an infection because she is allergic to fleas. Cost is a lot better than most vets. Decent affordable price.

We are new to Terre Haute. We took our dogs to Brown Vetinary. 1. We had blood work done. 2. We had concerns about weight loss of our 18 yr old. 3. They said they would call us with the results. They never did. 4. Turns out our dog has hookworm. They knew it never called us. 5. 2nd dog is basically pre diabetic. They knew it, never called us 6. 3rd dog, we took into 7th street location. No doctor on site. Said wait, we'll call over to 25th Street, see if she can be seen. 1/2 hour later, still waiting. Could've been there by then. 7. While waiting at 7th street, phone rings off the hook, nobody answers the phone. They let them all go to voicemail. Brown Vet needs to be PUT OUT OF BUSINESS.
