Our pets have been coming here for at least 15+ years. From our cat Harley and Leo as kittens to Koda when he was a puppy. Have had basic exams, shots, crystals in bladder, ear surgery and a lump recently removed from Koda. We highly recommend Brookside. The prices are very reasonable. The care the staff/vets give our pets is very good. Never feel rushed when discussing issues and give great recommendations/treatment.

Customer reviews for Brookside Veterinary Clinic present contrasting experiences. One long-term customer, who has been bringing their pets to the clinic for over 15 years, speaks positively about the reasonable prices and the good care provided by the staff and vets. They mention various services their pets have received, including basic exams, shots, treatment for bladder crystals and ear issues, and a recent lump removal. This customer highly recommends Brookside, noting that they never feel rushed when discussing issues and appreciate the recommendations and treatment provided.
However, another customer shared a deeply negative experience, alleging negligence that they believe led to their dog's death within three months. This review details concerns about a specific veterinary technician's behavior and remarks towards their anxious dog. The customer also expresses dissatisfaction with the initial diagnosis of a brain tumor based on an X-ray where movement was suspected, the discouragement from seeking a specialist due to cost, and the ineffectiveness of the prescribed medication. This customer further claims that a subsequent diagnosis at another veterinary hospital revealed early heart failure, which they believe could have been managed if detected earlier by Brookside. This reviewer strongly advises against taking animals to Brookside Veterinary Clinic.
As a local "Hospital" for your pets, Brookside Veterinary Clinic has received varied feedback. While one customer praises their long-standing positive experiences with reasonable pricing and quality care, another customer reports a tragic outcome and expresses serious concerns about the clinic's competence and staff conduct. Local users should consider both perspectives when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care.

Apr 06, 2025 · Patrick DaltonDo not take your animals to Brookside Veterinary Clinic . Mine was dead within 3 months because of their negligence. Took Nymeria here in May with suspected seizures. But also had a weird cough/breathing issue. The tech, Tori, did not like my dog and kept making snide remarks, I offered to muzzle Nymeria and they did not have me do that. She is anxious and just needs a caring and loving staff(or maybe Nymeria was just a good judge of character) . The last comment that made me angry was when I overheard her telling the vet that “of course she coughs she barks like a maniac, having that kind of dog back there a 2nd time puts the entire staff at risk” I confronted her saying she coughs all the time, not just when she barks. She was rude, gave me a dirty look and only apologized when my husband got there. Nymeria came back from chest X-rays and the other tech went on about how sweet and loving my dog was. So I know she was behaving back there. Dr. Damman comes back and says he saw a blip but he thinks she must have moved during the X-ray and so he diagnosed her with a brain tumor, based off symptoms. They didn’t want to help, just shoved seizures meds, discouraged us from seeking a specialist with talks of the THOUSANDS it’s gonna cost me and that nothing that can be done for brain tumors. It would only give Nymeria another year tops. He said Take her home, give her these meds(phenobarbital) to help her, and enjoy the time you have left. The meds were absolutely awful and the longer she took them the worse she got. I called up there 3 times before the vet got back to me and he left a voicemail saying that I should bring her in to “evaluate quality of life”. (I still have the voicemail if anyone wants to take a listen to that) That was it. I called Hononegah animal hospital and Dr. Adas and staff were so great. Nymeria loved them. They could tell it was just anxiety and her being very protective over me so they asked me to step out and they just did the exam one on one and she did a phenomenal job. They started weening her off the meds and switching to something else. Which made her act completely normal again. A few weeks go by and She started swelling, so we took her back in to Dr. Adas, the issue was that the blip in the Xray was not from movement, it was early heart failure. Had it been caught by Brookside in May it could have been managed and treated with medication. But it had unfortunately progressed too far by this time. The fluid in her heart was leaking into her abdomen . We took her home, scheduled an in home euthanasia and spent 1 last week with our girl. August 17th 2024 was the last time I got to see the best girl. I am still completely heartbroken. My kids are still devastated. My home will never be the same. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR PETS!
Jan 28, 2025 · Megan BI cannot recommend Brookside enough! From the wonderful ladies up front. To the amazing techs and doctors in back! They’re always so accommodating and truly care for your pets!
Feb 27, 2025 · Mackenzie McNallyThe staff is very nice. I started bringing my dogs here because of the reviews and the price. The price is nowhere near cheap anymore. I started having concerns when my dog had a lump on his neck and I was told it was nothing to worry about, that it was like a blood blister for a human. I ended up having to take him back a total of 3 times for the same issue and each time I was charged the same exam fee for them to look at the same issue they kept telling me not to worry about and the tests they kept redoing and medicines that didn't work. The 3rd time he ended up needing surgery. This time I took my girl in because her ear flap is filled with fluid, they said it was due to an ear infection. $259 because they gave me the most expensive medication I've ever paid for and I've dealt with ear infections before. They also charged me 2x for the same thing just called it two different things on the receipt.
