i brought in my guinea pig for about two years. I always asked if she knew how to care for guinea pigs and she said she did. I asked questions about my piggy having food stored in his cheeks, his chin being wet and dirty and always drinking water, she said it was normal and doesn't see anything with him. My piggy was extremely sick and in pain. I took him to the ER and he died. The ER asked about his chin, inside his mouth and his teeth.... the thing is shes not qualified to care for guinea pigs. I spend over $3,000.00 on him thinking she knew what she was doing, to have him died. I don't recommend her/ the vet to care for guinea pigs. I will never go to her again. My emotional support, my boy is gone. I wish I could get all of my money back from her for misdiagnosing him.

Jan 07, 2025 · CasperI brought my dog here after I took her to an emergency clinic. She needed an open pyometra surgery, otherwise she would’ve died. The ER clinic wanted to charge $5500. As a broke college student, I just don’t have that kind of money. After calling other vets, they said that they didn’t do it or it was the same price. I was close to putting her down so that she didn’t suffer. I decided to give Bronzeville Animal Clinic a call and was told they do the surgery and they could do it from $1200-2000! That was a lot more do able for me. We scheduled an appointment and they took her in for the surgery and kept her overnight to monitor her. The front desk is super friendly and eager to help, the vet techs seem cool and collected and Dr. Gill seems so knowledgeable and caring. The environment was very comforting during a scary time and that means a lot to me. My baby is all healed now and jumping around like nothing happened. Thank you so much! I really thought I wouldn’t have time with her anymore.
Apr 17, 2024 · Loddi A.I initially chose this clinic because of the good reviews, but my experience was terrible and harmful to my guinea pig's health. First, they scheduled two back-to-back guinea pig appointments with only one exotic pet room available, causing a 50-minute wait. When the vet finally arrived, she failed to explain the treatment process and didn’t administer any pain medication, claiming guinea pigs don’t feel pain—even though my pet was clearly suffering. There was no demonstration on how to clean my guinea pig’s cyst or properly administer antibiotics. When I asked for clarification, the vet seemed irritated and casually mentioned that my guinea pig could die if not treated correctly, then left without further explanation. I was prescribed three antibiotics, but a week later, they called to say they had forgotten one. The new prescription didn’t provide enough medication for the full course, and there was blatant miscommunication between the vet and staff. The vet told them to extend the antibiotics, while the staff gave conflicting information, further complicating the treatment plan. In the end, they extended the treatment and instructed me to restart the antibiotic. Despite these serious and repeated mistakes, the staff never once apologized. I have since taken my guinea pig to a new vet who confirmed the previous treatment was excessive and unnecessary. My pet is now on a proper treatment plan. Please reconsider bringing your exotic pets to this practice
Oct 14, 2024 · Kathleen RobinsonWe’ve been going to Dr. Gill for a few years now. Everything from ear infections to annual checkups, she loves Mr. Deeds. She is an absolute Saint! My dog is a 14yr old Shih Tzu which recently had a massive tumor in his neck. Dr. Gill was able to remove the tumor, she is full service there, anesthesia, Bloodwork, etc., and we are now on the mend! She is very clear about treatment and health plans. She knows animals! Kelli, ( we love Kelli!!!) and all of her techs and assistants are so kind and loving toward every animal and their person. It sometimes gives me Sesame Street vibes because the waiting area includes a cockatoo (Owen), water turtle and sometimes a Chinchilla. It is one of the most remarkable small businesses I frequent and I wish it were more places like this, with a warm environment that feels overwhelming with care. I love Dr. Gills office that place is a true gem!
Nov 06, 2024 · Nona EdwardsWe’ve taken our dog to Bronzeville Animal Clinic for a few years now and we’ve had a great experience. The staff is friendly and efficient (and they always pick up the phone), and the vet is really nice towards us and our dog. She takes great care of him and explains anything we ask. Definitely recommend!
