The Bronx location consistently delivers excellent service. Upon entering, the staff has always been polite. My visit today was wonderful, attended by Dr. Katz and Ms. Samantha, who were both very courteous and patient while answering all my questions and concerns related to my babies Luna and Kobe.

I’ve been coming to this vet for over 20 years. Trusted staff who truly adore pets aka our little furry family members. Particularly Dr Roberts has allowed my skeptical furbaby to be so at ease during his visits. He is thorough with my boy. I keep coming back because they are truly excellent!

My service dog and I have been loyal BVC clients since July of 2017. Task trained service dogs are medical equipment and require very high quality, consistent care at all times so they’ll be able to assist with their handler’s medical conditions and/or disabilities 24/7/365. While Hughie’s service dog school provided me with an excellent foundation and ongoing support with his training and care, BVC has been a vital partner in ensuring Hughie remains at peak health. Whether it’s a routine physical exam, management of Hughie’s extremely severe allergies, or a rare illness, BVC has always provided care well above the veterinary standard. They offer a clean office and safe environment with state of the art medical equipment and services. It is helpful and convenient that they have two locations and are able to handle both routine care and most emergencies under one roof. The doctors, techs, and staff all get ongoing continuing education on a regular basis. Many of the same people have worked at BVC for many years — having staff, doctors, and techs who are happy and well educated goes a long way to keeping a consistently high level of care. Mostly everyone who works at BVC is familiar with us being that it’s been mostly the same people working there for years, and that helps everyone know how to best serve my precious boy and I each time we visit. BVC is also not pushy to sell services and products like so many veterinary clinics today. We had our first BVC visit just 5 days after I brought Hughie home from his service dog school in 2017. During the exam, Dr. Katz realized that Hughie’s bottom eyelids were flipped in (aka entropion), which is not normal for a 2.5 year old dog (and oddly got missed at the service dog school despite doctors constantly checking the dogs being trained). If we didn’t surgically correct it, Dr. Katz explained that Hughie would go blind from his eyelashes scratching at his corneas. Being that this was my first dog ever, he was brand new in my life as a service dog, and the sheer shock of being told my boy needed surgery 5 days after coming home with me, Dr. Katz encouraged me to get a second opinion if I wanted before proceeding with surgery where most other practices would have pushed me to schedule surgery ASAP. That told me that Dr. Katz was more concerned with me feeling confident and comfortable in my decision than him making money on a procedure. I never felt the need to go ahead and get that second opinion because it was clear as day once he pointed out the issue. Ultimately, Dr. Katz saved my brand new service dog from going blind and getting retired early by noticing a detail that other doctors clearly missed. All of the BVC doctors are the same way. They don’t push me to buy medication from their own pharmacy in cases where I am able to get a specific medication for less — in fact, they happily encourage me to save the money. All of the doctors always present every treatment option, whether it’s something routine or more serious, and they encourage trying the least expensive options wherever possible. Vet care is going to be expensive everywhere, but BVC’s prices are much lower than the average costs at other clinics — and they still try to save clients money. They are a business of course, but they care more about allowing people to make the best decisions possible for the lowest cost as possible because they are patient-centered rather than aiming to make people pay for unnecessary treatments. These are just some highlights about our experience with BVC. I could say much more, but I’ll end with this: I used to live in The Bronx, but in recent years, I’ve traveled from Queens to The Bronx to bring Hughie to BVC. They are compassionate, they have a high standard of care, and I always trust the medical advice and treatment my boy gets. When people are willing to travel to BVC from far away when they could be going to vets in their own area, that should tell you BVC’s practice is worthwhile. I highly recommend both BVC offices. You will be satisfied and your pet will be in safe hands.

I've been taking my puppy Leah to this clinic since she was just 3 months old, and we’ve been coming every two weeks for her vaccines. Recently, there was a mix-up, and Leah was scheduled for a vaccine she wasn’t old enough for. The manager was really understanding, apologized, and even gave me her last shots for free! The staff is so friendly, and you can truly feel their passion for our furry friends. It's a wonderful place for our pets!
