It feels like this vet practice has its hand in my pocket all the time. Not only are annual checkups REALLY expensive, they are eager to get our dog in for what seem to be unnecessary visits.

The facility is equipped with modern examination rooms and dedicated areas for various medical procedures, including diagnostic imaging, surgery, and hospitalization. It is also notably recognized as an American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) designated Cat-Friendly Practice. This accreditation signifies that the hospital has taken specific steps to create a less stressful environment for feline patients, acknowledging their unique needs compared to dogs. This might include separate waiting areas, cat-specific examination rooms, and staff trained in feline-friendly handling techniques. The overall ambiance strives to be professional yet compassionate, prioritizing the comfort and safety of all animal patients during their visit.

Broad River Animal Hospital offers a wide array of veterinary services, encompassing everything from routine preventative care to advanced medical and surgical interventions. Their core offerings include comprehensive wellness exams, which are crucial for early detection of health issues and maintaining overall pet health. These typically involve physical assessments, vaccinations, and parasite prevention. Diagnostic services are robust, utilizing in-house laboratory capabilities for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as digital radiography (X-rays) and ultrasound for more in-depth internal imaging. They also offer advanced diagnostics such as endoscopy. Surgical services cover a broad range, from routine spay/neuter procedures to more complex soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic procedures, with an emphasis on patient safety, pain management, and modern surgical techniques like laser surgery. Dental care is a significant focus, including dental cleanings, extractions, and digital dental radiology to ensure optimal oral health. Beyond these, the hospital provides specialized care such as internal medicine consultations for chronic conditions, pain management, nutritional counseling, and comprehensive puppy, kitten, and senior pet care programs. They also offer ophthalmology services for various eye conditions and even pet acupuncture. The hospital also provides end-of-life care and counseling for pets and their owners, including at-home euthanasia for established clients when feasible. Their comprehensive service offerings ensure that most of a pet's health care needs can be met under one roof, with a strong emphasis on preventative health and early intervention.

With over 35 years of service to Fairfield County, the hospital has built a reputation for consistent veterinary care. The team of veterinarians boasts a combined experience of almost 100 years, indicating a deep well of knowledge and expertise. A significant feature is their proud membership in the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This accreditation is a testament to their adherence to rigorous standards of excellence in veterinary medicine, as fewer than fifteen percent of all pet hospitals in the country meet these stringent requirements. This AAHA accreditation assures clients of the hospital's commitment to quality and professionalism across all aspects of pet healthcare. As mentioned, their "Cat-Friendly Practice" designation further highlights their dedication to providing tailored, stress-reducing care for their feline patients. Customer reviews present a mixed but largely positive picture. One review expresses concerns about high costs and seemingly unnecessary visits, suggesting a potential area for client communication and transparency regarding billing and treatment plans. However, overwhelmingly, other reviews laud the hospital as "the best animal hospital in the area," praising the "super friendly" staff and "top-notch" doctors. Clients frequently mention a strong sense of trust and loyalty, with many having been clients for many years, even decades. This highlights the hospital's ability to build lasting relationships with pet owners, often becoming a trusted partner in their pet's long-term health journey. The compassionate and professional demeanor of the entire team, from the front desk staff to the veterinarians, is consistently highlighted as a key strength, indicating a profound care for animals and their owners.

Promotional information for Broad River Animal Hospital implicitly arises from its established reputation and client testimonials. The presence of phone numbers, (203) 846-3495 and mobile +1 203-846-3495, provides direct access for potential clients. Their physical address at 89 New Canaan Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850, USA, establishes their local accessibility. The positive reviews serve as powerful word-of-mouth promotion, with clients actively recommending the hospital to others. The longevity of the practice (over 35 years) and the combined experience of the doctors are strong selling points, indicating stability and a wealth of knowledge. The AAHA accreditation is a significant promotional tool, signifying a commitment to high standards that can attract discerning pet owners. Furthermore, their "Cat-Friendly Practice" status appeals directly to cat owners seeking a tailored experience. While the negative feedback about cost and perceived unnecessary visits is important to acknowledge, the overwhelming positive sentiment focusing on the friendly staff, top-notch doctors, and deep care for animals likely drives much of their new client acquisition. The hospital also facilitates financial options like CareCredit and potentially accepts pet insurance, which can be part of their promotional efforts to make veterinary care more accessible. In my opinion this is the best animal hospital in the area! The staff is super friendly and the doctors are top-notch! Ever since switching to Broad River Animal Hospital I always refer them to anyone that has a dog! Our beloved dog has been going there for 10 out of his 11 years now.

The team here has become a second family to us. I am so grateful for the doctors and team that care for the animals and help with billing and schedules. Truly a team that loves animals and that translates to an A+ experience as a pet parent. Thank you Broad River Animal Hospital!

Excellent, caring staff. I switched here after going to Norwalk Veterinary Hospital for years as Broad River is closer to my home and came highly recommended. I lucked out that my favorite Vet from NVH, Dr. Lisa Major, is now at Broad River. Dr. Major's bedside manner is warm and kind and she's a skilled, knowledgable doctor. There's a cat who "works" in the office, and it's clear all of the staff love animals.

Our late malamute and husky lived to the age of 15 and 16 respectively due to good care at home and good care by Broad River! We value their care of our pets.
