Thank you so much for your kindness - sincerely everyone went above and beyond to assist me and my kitty in a really scary situation - I ran over my own cat and I can’t even explain the wretched emotional state I was in. They were very professional & helpful literally accommodating me in every way and being so great with my kitty. Everyone was so nice and kind and that goes a long ways when you race inside bawling thinking worst case scenario. Now he’s at home resting and recovering.

Other places are cheaper, more empathetic towards the owner, care more about your pet, and give you equally if not better quality of service. I am extraordinarily disappointed with the service I received at this vet clinic. I brought my 3 year old cat in because he was in a critical state, unable to urinate, unable to move and was in an incredible amount of pain. They unblocked his urinary tract and kept him for a few nights. This procedure alone was $2500. I was unaware of proper veterinary pricing, and I was willing to pay anything to save my baby boys life. The team there is very paperwork focused, I’d call it. No emotion towards the owner or comforting them about the situation, just handing over paperwork to make sure you’ll pay $500 to have them attempt CPR on your animal. I was in such distress that I didn’t really care how they treated me, as long as my cat was okay. When I brought my cat home, he was so lethargic and drugged up for two days that I couldn’t sleep because I thought he was going to pass. He couldn’t move by himself, but seemed extremely agitated and wanted to be in my lap 24/7. He re-blocked and I took him back to Bright Eyes the following day. They told me I needed to express his bladder at home, which I have since been advised by TWO other veterinary specialists that I should not have attempted, as it may have caused complications in the long run. When I brought him in they told me that if he can’t urinate the other options are euthanasia or they can give me a referral for PU surgery and quoted me $8000. I was awestruck. I had already spent $2500, and I’m a college student with a part time job. They gave him a shot of something that made him even more lethargic, which was scary. He was falling over in his litter box, sedated and I had to scrape litter out of his nose. Whatever they gave him, it was way too strong. How is he supposed to attempt regular urination when he’s that doped up??When he clearly wasn’t doing any better I reached out to another clinic in the area, and they got me in first thing in the morning. They assured me they would do their best to give him another 13+ years of life. They unblocked him, did the PU surgery, gave me prescription food, medication, and kept him overnight for a few days. ALL of that cost me the same Bright Eyes did just for the urinary unblocking. The vet at the other location got my personal cell number and was checking in with me DAILY on how my cat was doing. Bright Eyes has not checked in ONCE about how he’s doing, or if he’s even alive. I feel incredibly scammed by Bright Eyes, as both locations treated his condition as emergency care, but it’s clear who was in it for the money and who actually cared about saving my cats life. Unless you have an insane amount of money, avoid this place like the plague.

Brought our new rescue in late afternoon on a Saturday with troubles urinating and vomiting. Did all testing necessary to diagnosis her, not rushed out because of it being close to closing. Very thorough explaining condition. Always very friendly and cooperative when we've had to visit there. We will only go there when our vet is closed. Cedar Rapids emergency hospital turned us away 2 yrs ago because it was 5 minutes till close resulting in us having to drive to Des Moines were unfortunately it was too late and we had to put our dog down.

Brought my guy in because he was throwing up and gagging consistently through the morning. They barely did an exam on him and then insisted they do x-rays. The vet comes back and said he wouldn’t hold still long enough to get good enough pictures of his esophagus, which I was what I was most concerned about. The pictures they did get were not helpful. But of course they still charged me $300 for those. I had originally asked if they could give him something to calm his stomach and treat symptoms and then come back if it gets worse because I’m on a budget and they said no. We have to do X-rays to move forward. They then told me they wanted to keep him through the day and do more X-rays later.. yeah absolutely not, for $1000. So $600 later and we are back home for tummy issues. Love the techs (they’re always awesome), hate the vet (they could give a s*** less and just want to pressure you into spending as much money and possible and then judge you if you don’t pick the highest cost option).

Was one of the only late night clinics in the area that specialized in exotic animals (ferrets). Accepted us close to closing time and did their best to help us comfort our very ill ferret. Vet was very friendly when she came in and communicated well what and how would be done. Everyone was friendly however, I do think communication between techs and customers needs to improve. When tests were ran there was no discussion on how testing was being done. The tech just would come grab our ferret and say we are running “xyz…”. Minimal communication on what the process of the testing was. Me being used to cats & dogs I thought a lot of the testing was not invasive or basic blood draws that aren’t painful. However, that’s was not the case. Knowing that my very ill and dieing ferret was going to have a very large for his size thermometer placed in his rectum and nail clipped so far it bled for testing would have been something to communicate better as I would have said no in his current state of dieing and elderly age. The tech I had lacked bedside manner and communication. Resulting in poor quality of life in the last few hours of my ferrets life. Ask questions about everything! Make the techs talk to you so you don’t allow care that puts them through more pain. Don’t make a mistake like me failing to advocate for my little guy til it was too late. Other than that I do feel they truly did everything they could to help diagnose/help our little guy in his final night. Thank you to the staff!
