Last fall we unfortunately had to put down our beloved cat ‘Barton’ after spending 14 plus years with him. I’ll never forget the kindness Dr. Bishop and staff showed us that day. They were so sympathetic to us and made this difficult process so much easier. Thank you for making our beloved boy’s last moments peaceful. We are so appreciative for your care.

This ethos is reflected in their warm and inviting environment, designed to ensure both pets and their owners feel at ease from the moment they arrive. The clinic strives for a calm atmosphere, which is particularly beneficial for reducing anxiety in animals during their visits. With readily available free onsite parking, convenience is also a priority for visitors.
The environment at Bridgeville Animal Hospital is intentionally crafted to be welcoming and comforting. As noted by a client, the staff "make it a very welcoming environment." This extends beyond just physical surroundings to the interpersonal interactions, where staff are described as "easy to talk to." Such an atmosphere is crucial, especially when dealing with sensitive pet health matters, fostering a sense of trust and openness between pet owners and the veterinary team.
Bridgeville Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital, offering a broad spectrum of services to ensure the complete health and well-being of your pets. Their comprehensive offerings include, but are not limited to:
Wellness Exams and Preventive Care: This includes routine examinations for all life stages, crucial for early detection of health issues. They emphasize ongoing nutrition, supplement support, and disease prevention to help pets live long, healthy lives. Basic vaccination series are part of a puppy's schedule and administered annually for ongoing protection.
Vaccinations: Tailored vaccination protocols for dogs and cats, ensuring they are protected against common and serious diseases.
Diagnostics: The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including digital radiology (X-rays) for both body and dental imaging, providing superior images for quick and accurate diagnoses of bones, internal organs, and other systems. They also perform brief ultrasound exams.
Surgical Services: A wide range of surgical procedures are performed, from routine spays and neuters to various soft tissue surgeries. Patient safety and comfort are prioritized during all procedures.
Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are available to maintain optimal oral health, including cleanings and extractions, which are vital for overall pet health.
Warm Laser Therapy: This cutting-edge therapy is offered to expedite healing, treat arthritis, and address soft tissue injuries, providing a non-invasive option for pain management and recovery.
Health Certificates: Providing necessary documentation for pet travel or other official requirements.
Emergency and Urgent Care: While they are a small general practice and cannot accommodate "walk-in" emergencies, they instruct clients to call the office first for guidance on how to proceed, often referring to recommended after-hour emergency facilities such as PVS/Blue Pearl (North and South) and Urgent Vet.
Online Pharmacy: For client convenience, they offer an online pharmacy, allowing pet owners to easily purchase medications, food, and other products from home.
The clinic schedules full 30-minute appointments for all exams, allowing ample time for discussions between pet owners and doctors, ensuring comprehensive care and addressing all concerns thoroughly. If additional information is needed after a call, a doctor will call back the same day.
The features that truly distinguish Bridgeville Animal Hospital are deeply rooted in their commitment to patient and client satisfaction. Dr. Joanna Rubin, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (1997), leads the team. She is joined by Dr. Alexandra Bishop, DVM, a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, who joined the team in February 2023. This combination of experienced and compassionate professionals ensures a high standard of care.
Compassionate and Sympathetic Staff: As highlighted in client reviews, the staff, including Dr. Bishop and Dr. Rubin, are "wonderful" and "so amazing" with both cats and dogs. Their genuine empathy is particularly evident during difficult times, such as the euthanasia of a beloved pet. One client shared how Dr. Bishop and the staff were "so sympathetic" and "made this difficult process so much easier," ensuring their "beloved boy’s last moments peaceful." This level of profound care during emotional moments is a testament to their dedication.
Personalized Care: The clinic operates as a small general practice, which allows them to "treat our clients and patients like family." This intimate approach ensures that each animal receives individualized attention and care tailored to their specific needs. Clients genuinely feel their "animals are getting the best care."
Expert and Approachable Veterinarians: Clients find the veterinarians "easy to talk to" and appreciate their ability to communicate effectively, fostering a collaborative approach to pet health. This open dialogue ensures that pet owners are informed and comfortable with the care plans for their animals.
Commitment to Long-Term Relationships: The consistent positive feedback, such as clients stating they "Will continue to bring my animals here," demonstrates the strong, lasting relationships built on trust and excellent care.
Regarding promotional information, while specific, time-limited promotions are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, Bridgeville Animal Hospital aims to make quality veterinary care accessible. They embrace options to help clients manage veterinary costs, including:
Pet Insurance Acceptance: Like most veterinarians, Bridgeville Animal Hospital accepts pet insurance for unexpected accidents and illnesses. They encourage clients to get their pets insured while healthy, as pre-existing conditions are typically not covered.
Wellness Plans: Some pet insurance providers offer routine care add-ons or "wellness plans" that can help cover the costs of routine health expenses. It is advisable for pet owners to explore these options and discuss them with the clinic.
Treatment Financing: Bridgeville Animal Hospital works with treatment financing solutions like CareCredit. This option allows pet owners to space out payments for large, unexpected upfront costs, providing financial flexibility during times of need.
Clients are also encouraged to visit the clinic's online pharmacy, which often provides competitive pricing on medications, food, and other pet products, along with the convenience of home delivery. For any specific current promotions, it is always best to contact Bridgeville Animal Hospital directly.

May 20, 2025 · Sarah WarmanWill continue to bring my animals here. Dr. Rubin and all the vet techs are wonderful, so amazing with our cats and dogs. They make it a very welcoming environment, are easy to talk to, and I genuinely feel like my animals are getting the best care. Would highly recommend!
Dec 19, 2024 · Sarah MillerIs it standard practice for an employee who told me they would work with me financially to help me pay for my cats procedue on January 20 to then call me after I ask to speak with the owner proceed to tell me I'm basically lying about what was said in the check up room. Allison I believe her name was. The entire phone conversation was her talking over me and then telling me I shouldn't be so upset and they gave me everything half off. First off I work in customer service and if my client is upset I let them vent until they can't speak anymore. I continue to assure them that I will listen and help to the best of my ability. Not Allison. She proceeded to tell me how to feel and that I shouldn't tell the owner my side of things, that I would get people I trouble with my lies. It's not her position to tell me anything. Her bed side manner is horrible and reflects what the clinic allows their staff to get away with. I will no longer be a client of this sham of an operation and hope everyone heeds my warning. They don't care about your pets, only the paycheck they get. I suppose I understand why they re upset. Couldn't cut it as real doctors and nurses so they had to settle on working on clients who can't give any true feed back. Go to greentree animal hospital where they actually care about your pets.
Jan 20, 2025 · Stephen HelfI’ve been a client of Dr. Rubin for a long time (30 years?)and my whole family loves her. She has compassion for the dog and the family, and goes out of her way to establish a connection. Her whole staff has a heart for the cause and it shows. I couldn’t recommend their practice more!
Dec 11, 2023 · Christine HaythornI had a poor experience here around the same time some of the other lower star reviews were made. In Dec 2023, I brought in my 6-year old goldendoodle who had been vomiting and a reduced appetite. At this appointment I learned that he lost ~13 lbs in one year. Dr. Rubin changed his diet, gave me two pills (Cerenia and pepcid) and said "We'll do an X-ray next time". The Cerenia only helped for a little bit and he started vomiting again so I called back and nobody helped me or returned my phone calls. I started scrambling to get answers and after visiting other vet clinics, unfortunately ended up with a cancer diagnosis and I lost him in July 2024. I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Rubin; I felt like she could have done more or helped me discover this sooner. I will never return or recommend this practice to anyone.
