Brickyard Animal Hospital

Brickyard Animal Hospital has been wonderful to work with. They've treated both of my aging dogs for the past 5 years and I have no complaints. Reading through the comments, Dr. Heller seems to really resonate with people or they really don't like him. I think he's an excellent vet who doesn't mince his words. He's honest, direct, very kind (I don't need nice, I need care for my dogs), and clearly very smart. I trust him and am grateful to have him as our vet. He called me over the weekend to check in on my sick dog a couple of years ago. I've never had a vet do that in my 20 years of dog ownership and I won't forget it. Dr. Heller is a keeper. No office would run without staff and the staff are amazing! They've always been so warm and helpful. I could go on and on about how well they've treated me over the years. I would not take my dogs anywhere else.

For the last several years, Dr. Heller has been our family Vet. We have 3 aging dogs, one of which had cancer so we have spent alot of time at brickyard. After stumbling across a few negative comments, I felt compelled to write this. I think that most of us see the Veterinarian on our worst days. Often times, we are heart broken and/or scared. We go to the Vet seeking answers, and we want them immediately. Dr. Heller is a thinker, he may not tell you what you want to hear, he may not respond to you immediately, but he is always thinking of ways to help our animals. If he got emotionally attached to every patient, it would be impossible to carry on and effectively care for the next 50 he sees. What I know to be a fact is that he genuinely cares about every animal that comes through that door. I have been there before and he barely spoke to me about my dogs problem, and two days later he called me out of the blue to tell me he found the answers. There is no doubt that Dr.Heller is a gifted veterinarian, the best I've ever seen. He doesn't waste time, there will be NO small talk, but he will always put your animal first. For me, that matters the most. Thank you Brickyard, and Dr. Heller, for doing all you can for the animal community.

We have been coming to Brickyard Animal Hospital for years and I would highly recommend them for any pet. The front desk staff are always so kind and helpful, the techs are very sweet and gentle with our cat, and Dr. Heller is an amazing human. He takes the time to read the chart, answer questions, and is very truthful in the types of treatments that are appropriate for your pet. Very grateful for this team.

Based on a friend's recommendation we took our dog to Brickyard Animal Hospital to investigate some digestive tract problems. We appreciated their prompt response to get us in and the great care we received from Dr. Heller and other staff. We followed the care plan and instructions they provided and our dog is doing great. Thanks to everyone for being caring, kind and so professional.

I have seen six different vet clinics over the last five years. After my sweet 12-1/2 year old sweet dog Trinity passed away last March, I was on a mission to find a new vet clinic that wasn't owned by a purely profit driven corporation and had seasoned vets, for my two rescue kitties I had taken in 10 years prior, one of which was acting a little off in June. This wasn't an easy task, but being in IT for 35 years, 17 performing statistical analysis, I knew how to get into the root of the fluff to find out the actual owners. That's when I found Brickyard Vet - I was familiar with them because of some vet techs who went to cars in the middle of the summer with dogs inside of those cars in distress from heat stroke, but for some reason, never crossed my mind at the time....until then. So I called and made an appointment - very impressed with the gal who answered the phone. I took my kitty to the appointment with Dr. Allen. He was awesome, he told me she was showing signs of kidney disease, gave her a shot for a UTI, recommended some kidney disease food, which I bought, but she's a diva and didn't like any of them of course. Went to the follow-up and she was back to normal diva behavior. Fast forward to now. She was obviously sick, so I took her to the new VCA Urgent Care in Sugarhouse (AWESOME place) because of course, it was the weekend. Her kidney's were worse, she had lost three teeth and had a UTI. They were able to treat the UTI, but recommended immediate veterinary care. I called Brickyard Monday morning, and they got me in the next morning (yesterday) with Dr. Heller. She received a thorough exam and Dr. Heller called me personally this morning to go over the results. She will also have a dental as she has a tooth infection and I also found out at VCA and with Dr. Heller, my rescue kitty is 14 years old. He also, like Dr. Allen, recommended kidney care food, so I return to the clinic today to try new flavors after finding out Chewy would make me buy 24 cans (case) or PetSmart with their ridiculous rx process to buy vet diet food. I would highly not only recommend Brickyard Vet, but would encourage anyone to take their pets there for genuine and reasonably priced vet care. Not only are Dr. Heller and Dr. Allen stellar, but the vet techs and anyone covering the front desk are too! I have not had one single issue at any time.
