My family did not have a good experience with Brenda King to say the least. I was aware that she is not the most friendly woman, but thought we were in good hands with her for our puppy. We have family members who have brought their pets to her for many years. It was all going fine until our puppy (10 months old) had a tear duct issue. He was hit by a car at 8 months old and recovered very well. The only thing was that he had mucous in his eye and nose on the side where he was hit. So, Dr. King suggested we do a minor procedure to put a thin tube in the corner of his eye to flush it out. It wasn’t supposed to be risky. I brought him in the morning for the procedure and dropped him off. Later in the afternoon, Dr. King called and said she had bad news. Our puppy stopped breathing during the procedure. That was it. He died right then and there. We are still in shock and heartbroken. She took care of his cremation and everything, but we just feel like the office is holding back information or something. I have asked many questions, but it’s all been pretty vague. Dr. King is an intimidating person so she’s not very approachable or helpful in giving us a sense of peace with this situation. If you want a vet who you can trust and feel comfortable with, I would not choose Brenda King.

Welcome to Brenda J. King, V.M.D.

Welcome to the veterinary practice of Brenda J. King, V.M.D., a Pet Hospital situated at 2 Forest St in Montclair, New Jersey. As a local veterinary service provider, Brenda J. King, V.M.D. offers a range of veterinary care for pets in the Montclair area. The practice aims to provide medical services for animals, addressing their health needs. Based on the available reviews, experiences with this Pet Hospital appear to vary significantly, highlighting different aspects of the care provided and the overall client experience.

Information regarding the specific environment of the clinic is limited in the provided reviews. However, it is typical for a veterinary practice to maintain a clean and organized space to facilitate medical examinations, treatments, and procedures. The focus is generally on creating a functional environment that supports the delivery of veterinary care. While one review mentions a generally unfriendly demeanor of Dr. King, this aspect pertains more to interpersonal interactions than the physical environment of the clinic itself. Potential clients may want to consider that the atmosphere and the approachability of the staff can contribute significantly to the overall comfort and trust in a veterinary practice.

The services offered by Brenda J. King, V.M.D., as a Pet Hospital, likely encompass a range of general veterinary care. This typically includes routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and potentially surgical procedures. One review mentions a "minor procedure" to address a tear duct issue in a puppy, suggesting that the practice does offer surgical interventions. However, the tragic outcome of this particular procedure, where the puppy stopped breathing and died, raises serious concerns about the perceived risk and the communication surrounding it. Conversely, another review expresses satisfaction, stating they are "so glad we followed the reviews" and brought their dogs to Dr. King, implying that positive experiences do occur.

The features of Brenda J. King, V.M.D.'s practice are somewhat contrasting based on the provided feedback. One client describes Dr. King as "not the most friendly woman" and "intimidating," making her "not very approachable or helpful" in a distressing situation. This review emphasizes a lack of trust and comfort in communication. The experience described involved a significant loss and a feeling of withheld information, leading to a recommendation against choosing Dr. King for those seeking a trustworthy and comfortable veterinary relationship. This account highlights the critical importance of clear communication, empathy, and a supportive demeanor, especially during challenging times.

In stark contrast, the other review portrays Dr. King as a "true and genuine dog lover," who is "caring but down to earth and not aggressive in treatment." This perspective emphasizes a positive experience with easy appointment scheduling and a "kind and lovely staff." This client was happy with the visit and shared a picture of their "happy pups" afterward. This contrasting feedback suggests that individual experiences may vary, and perhaps Dr. King's approach resonates differently with different pet owners. It's important to note the significant discrepancy in these two accounts when considering the overall features of the practice.

Given the limited and conflicting nature of the reviews, it is challenging to definitively outline all the services provided or the typical experience at Brenda J. King, V.M.D.'s Pet Hospital. It is reasonable to assume that standard veterinary services such as vaccinations, routine check-ups, and treatment for common ailments are offered. However, the information regarding more specialized services, such as advanced surgical procedures or comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, is not available. The mention of a procedure to address a tear duct issue indicates some level of surgical capability, but the associated negative outcome warrants careful consideration.

Similarly, there is no information provided regarding an on-site pharmacy or the availability of specific goods for sale. Many veterinary practices do offer a pharmacy for the convenience of their clients, providing prescribed medications and other pet care products. However, without explicit mention in the reviews, this cannot be confirmed for Brenda J. King, V.M.D.'s practice. Local users may need to inquire directly about the availability of a pharmacy and any related goods or products offered.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Brenda J. King, V.M.D.'s Pet Hospital in the provided text. Veterinary practices may occasionally offer promotions for specific services or to new clients. However, there is no indication of any such offers in the given reviews. Individuals interested in learning about any potential promotions or special offers should contact the clinic directly at (973) 783-7279 or +1 973-783-7279.

In conclusion, Brenda J. King, V.M.D. is a Pet Hospital located in Montclair, New Jersey, offering veterinary services to the local community. The limited feedback available presents a mixed picture of the client experience. One review expresses a deeply negative experience involving the death of a puppy during a minor procedure and concerns about communication and approachability. Conversely, another review describes Dr. King as a caring and genuine dog lover with a kind staff. This significant divergence in experiences suggests that potential clients may want to weigh these perspectives carefully and perhaps seek additional information or consider their own priorities when choosing a veterinary care provider. The lack of detailed information about the clinic's environment, full range of services, and any promotional offers necessitates direct inquiry for those considering this Pet Hospital.

I have been using Dr King since June 2023 when she started caring for Biscuit my mini Cockapoo. She and her whole team are very caring, highly knowledgable and professional. I highly recommend them.

Dr. King has been treating my dog for a few years. I wish I met her years ago. She is very thorough and takes exceptional care of my Irish terrier. My dog was diagnosed in December with diabetes. Thank goodness she is doing very well. Her staff is excellent. Both Cassie and I trust her completely. I highly recommend her.

If you want a vet who is 100% invested in your pet, you want Dr. King. Her practice is committed to your pet's care and provides practical options for care with cost in mind. We have been with Dr. King 2 of our dogs since 2006. ACL tears, sensitive, temperamental nail cutting appointments and all other pet related joys and sorrows. Erin and the staff are phenomenal.
