We brought our husky from Owensboro, KY due to bleeding from a spay incision (she's a husky). The ladies on staff from the phone to the front desk to the vet assistant to the vet herself were so kind and empathetic! They were calm and kind while I was panicking. When we got there, they got her back fairly quickly. The vet tech's energy was so kind and calm, despite being a very anxious husky, scared, and in pain, our dog let her pick her up and carry her back to get started. She HATES being picked up. That was VERY telling. Both the vet tech and the vet were incredibly reassuring while being honest and informative. They drew up two different treatment plans and walked us through both so we could make an informed decision and factor in our budget and our dog's needs. When we picked her up, the aftercare instructions were clear and very informative, no guessing. They even cleaned my dog up the best they could without hurting her. She came home smelling better than she did when we picked her up from the spay! The fact that they took the time to tidy up her legs, paws, and tail, even though it wasn't required is telling. You can tell they babied her, loved on her, and took amazing care of her. While I hope to never need them again, if our pets were in need, we wouldn't hesitate to go back. It was pricey, but it's emergency veterinary care in the middle of the night, and well worth the money, in my opinion.

You can reach them in urgent situations by phone at (270) 715-5600 or their mobile number +1 270-715-5600. These contact details ensure that pet owners can readily seek assistance and guidance during critical times, highlighting their commitment to being available when emergencies strike.
Based on available information, including firsthand accounts from pet owners, Bowling Green Veterinary Emergency Clinic appears to prioritize a caring and empathetic approach to both pets and their owners. One particularly positive review details an experience where a husky, brought in for complications following a spay procedure, received exceptional care. The reviewer specifically praised the kindness and calmness of the entire staff, from the phone interaction to the front desk, the veterinary assistant, and the veterinarian. This suggests a clinic culture that values patient comfort and owner reassurance, crucial elements in emergency situations where anxiety levels are naturally high.
The review further highlights the efficiency of the clinic's processes, noting that the pet was attended to quickly upon arrival. The gentle and reassuring demeanor of the veterinary technician was also commended, especially considering the dog's anxious and painful state. This ability to handle distressed animals with care and competence is a significant feature of a reliable emergency veterinary clinic. Moreover, the veterinarian's approach of providing honest and informative explanations, coupled with outlining different treatment plans to accommodate both the pet's needs and the owner's budget, demonstrates a commitment to transparent and collaborative care.
The thoroughness of the aftercare instructions provided upon discharge is another noteworthy aspect mentioned in the positive review. Clear and informative guidance ensures that pet owners feel confident in managing their animal's recovery at home, minimizing potential complications and promoting healing. The thoughtful gesture of cleaning the pet, even beyond what was medically necessary, speaks volumes about the staff's dedication and genuine care for their patients' well-being. This level of attention to detail suggests a clinic that goes above and beyond basic medical treatment.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available information. One negative review raises concerns about potential overcharging and questions the necessity and appropriateness of certain treatments administered. The reviewer recounts an experience where they felt their pet received more fluids than needed, a concern that was allegedly echoed by their regular veterinarian the following day. This feedback suggests a potential discrepancy in treatment protocols or communication that warrants consideration. While this is a single negative account, it underscores the importance of clear communication between veterinary staff and pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and associated costs.

May 08, 2025 · Christina WilsonVeterinarian charge me for more than I needed to give her fluids and she wouldn’t dehydrated and the fluids they give her the normal vet said they would never give her fluids like that. I would recommend this because they don’t care about your pet. They only care about the money, I took her to the next day said they would’ve never done this that way
May 05, 2025 · David ZajacExcellent care, from reception to vet. Caring people doing a very difficult job. Turbo was having seizures constantly and they took excellent care of him and is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
May 06, 2025 · hiser GouldAll of the staff we saw were friendly and knowledgeable. The vet was in to see us quick. They took great care of our dog and provided really good service in a stressful situation. Good to have emergency care in Bowling Green and not have to drive to Louisville or Nashville.
Jan 29, 2025 · Melissa CarrollDoctor Downing and Kirk were nice and explained everything thoroughly! The facility is nice as well and very clean. It does not smell like a typical vet office. Very appreciative that there is a local animal ER now!
